Known for playing different kinds of roles in films such as ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘Shaitan’, ‘NH10’, ‘Ungli’ or recently in ‘Lost, actor Neil Bhoopalam believes in breaking the stereotypes and exploring distinct characters every time he takes up a new project.
As he mentioned: “There is a fair amount of mindfulness that one approaches work with. At the same time, work is work, so if I am fortunate enough to perform in stories where I get my creative kicks and that is a well-made project helmed by very creative people then it’s a win-win situation.”
In the movie, ‘Lost’, he was in a long-distance relationship with the lead actress Yami Gautam’s on-screen character Vidhi Sahani and the actor said that in today’s time because of technology such relationships are more practically possible and thus made the story of the film more relatable.

His post comes as a reaction to a post which stated that "Samir Khakhar who played the role of Khopdi in Nukkad is looking for work".

Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar is excitedly looking forward to the audience reaction to his latest effort.
Bejoy Nambiar's upcoming project, the revenge drama "Taish", releases on Thursday in the form of a feature film as well as web series. This is an unprecedented experiment in Indian showbiz.
"With every new release, the count of butterflies in my stomach increases, and right now I feel tensed, eager to know what the audience feels. There is a sense of double pressure because we are releasing 'Taish' in two formats, as a full-length feature film and as a web series. Both formats have their target audience. Having said that, there is relief because there is no weekend collection and box office pressure," the filmmaker told Ians.
"Also, in the film we have tried to touch upon a topic that hasn't been done in films before, so I am interested to know how people connect with it,...

Mumbai, Oct 24 (Ians) Actor Gulshan Devaiah feels recent controversies, related to allegations of Bollywood-drug trade nexus as well as nepotism charges, which have been surrounding the film fraternity, do not bother him.
"Without taking names, I want to say that the controversies and generalisation that have defamed our film industry in the recent past do not bother me. What bothers me is the people who are raising their voice with a huge amount of insincerity. If you know that you are an influential voice of the film industry, will you not check your own words before uttering them? That is why I have difficulty trusting them. The audience that is observing the toxicity, should sit back and try to understand who is benefitting from these controversies? As an audience, are you?" said the actor.
Gulshan has managed to make his mark in the entertainment industry across mediums.

Actor Gulshan Devaiah says the problem with accepting depression as a disease is that a lot of people consider it to be a state of mind.
"There is a problem with accepting depression as a disease because most people think depression is a state of mind, or it is an emotion. Like, if I proposed to a girl and she turned me down and I say 'I am depressed', and (treat) depression as a state of mind," Gulshan Devaiah told Ians.
"Depression is used as an expression to express something. But when you are diagnosed with depression, by a mental health practitioner or by a certified doctor, then that is an illness. It needs to be treated like any other illness like cancer or tuberculosis," he added.
Gulshan Devaiah feels depression has to be treated, "some without medication and some with medication".

In the days leading up to the Fourth of July, New York governor Andrew Cuomo took to social media urging state residents to avoid indoor parties and large gatherings. Music composer Mikey McClearly is known to spin background score and songs high on youth appeal and this is no different. He has earlier worked on films including Margarita with a Straw, Shaitan, Shanghai, David, Bombay Velvet, Nautanki Saala, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Shaandaar. I’ll preface this review with an admission: I played the clarinet in the school band for about two years, so you can understand why I fell so hard for the Bombay Velvet soundtrack as a band nerd. Anurag Kashyap’s magnum opus takes the audience to 1960s Bombay, which is emerging as a metropolis that’s teeming with gangsters, film journalists, femme fatales, and underdogs. Kashyap recruited Amit Trivedi for this fantastic album, that’s as nuanced as it is danceable. Trivedi teamed up with The City of Prague Big Band, and Mickey McCleary for the album that merges jazz standards, classic Bollywood, and swing with such seamless ease.
The album starts off with the rollicking, Aam Hindustani, a 9-minute gem that hooks you in with a terrific prelude. From the opening clarinets that segue into the madcap horns and trumpets, Trivedi goes for the carnival-esque sound that would...

2013 has been a stellar year for soundtracks, with constant innovation and the odd chartbuster that eventually tops your most played list on your iPod. There was a lot of fabulous collaborations like Vishal Bharadwaj and South-African band Umoja for Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola or the full on Southie beats for Chennai Express. There was a lot of regional flavour and experimentation with music directors like A.R. Rahman and Amit Trivedi looking to the sounds of Banaras and Gujarat for their fantastic albums. Whoever says there’s a dearth of good soundtracks, then look no further than our list of top albums of the year!

Gulshan, who essays the role of the antagonist Bhavani (Deepika’s cousin), has done a fantastic job in slowly unfolding his character from a young and angry saneda lieutenant who lurks in the background to a scheming, conniving villain who is in the thick of things.
The talented actor, who was earlier seen in Shaitan and Hate Story has grabbed this opportunity with both hands and poured himself into it and it seems like it’s paying off. The actor has a great year to look forward to, with Phantom Picture’s Hunter and a...

An attempt at a sleek action thriller didn’t go down well with the audience so Blue director Anthony D’Souza tries his hand the desi-way. His second release once again stars Akshay Kumar however, Boss is no stylish action thriller with foreign locales but rather is a tale of a home-grown hero.
It’s expected that when you walk into Boss you won’t be getting a dose of thought provoking cinema, but rather a 3-hour entertaining ride that should have laughs, cries, dances, punches and of course, a happy ending. This Anthony D’ Souza directorial tries its best to deliver exactly that. Boss is family drama at the heart of it all. The film is an adaptation of Vyshakh’s Malayalam film Pokkiri Raja that had originally starred Manmooty, Prithviraj and Shriya Saran. It’s the story of Surya (Akshay Kumar), a renowned don who was heartlessly kicked...

Though still relatively knew to the Hindi film space, actress Aditi Rao Hydari certainly has made an impression. She made her Hindi film debut in Delhi 6, then starred in Yeh Saali Zindagi, appeared in Rockstar, starred with Ali Zafar in the romantic London Paris New York, and most recently was seen as the lead in thriller Murder 3. It’s quite the eclectic and cool mix of genres and roles, and with each performance she has been given great reviews. Next up is the masala film, Akshay Kumar’s Boss, where she plays, as she says, a fun, typical Hindi movie heroine. Check out what she told us in our really fun and fab chat about all things Boss!
Tell us why you decided to take this role in this film.
I think as someone who is not really part of the industry, one takes baby steps towards building up a body of work.

Next week, Guneet Monga heads to Cannes with an impressive lineup as a producer: Monsoon Shootout in official selection and Dabba (The Lunchbox) in International Critics’ Week.
She featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s list of 12 outstanding International women achievers in the field of entertainment a few months ago. They called her India’s go-to producer for edgy young filmmakers. The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (Iffla) conferred on her their annual Industry Leadership award.
Though her success may sound astounding, few will believe that this young woman-full of enthusiasm-travelled to her first international film festival in Venice in 2010 with some 200 posters and 20,000 handouts of That Girl in Yellow Boots. She thought she could paste posters of her film everywhere-like the festivals she had attended in school and college-and grab attention of the audience.
