Lots of interesting ideas, hopefully building to an explosive climax.
Sleepin_Dragon31 March 2024
Wade assembles the best of the best, and plans to put together a scheme to save humanity.

I'm hoping this is the calm before the storm, pretty good, but obviously Judgment Day was going to be a tough act to follow. This was quite a dialogue heavy episode, but still had some really interesting ideas.

Imagine knowing the world was going to be attacked, was potentially going to end, how would society function, what would change, it's an interesting notion, the so called slow invasion.

What exactly is Wade's role in all of this, I don't think it's been explained yet, all we know, is that he has a lot of power and influence.

Did I hear Born to die, Lana del Rey? Superb choice, instantly made me download it.

Interesting.

7/10.

A not so necessary pause
aboalhyjaa30 March 2024
The Stars Our Destination slows down a bit compared to previous episodes, giving us time to understand how the characters are feeling after everything that's happened and is happening now. It's more about their emotions and decisions than big action scenes.

Actually, i think that the episode could've been wrapped up in a 10-15 minutes in the previous one or adding it up to the next episode. More or less, it didn't feel quite right.

While yes it might feel a bit slow, it's important for setting up what comes next in the story. Overall, it's a thoughtful episode that gets us ready for the next part of the adventure.

Underrated Chapter
benjaastuopa22 March 2024
It's a bright and beautiful chapter that has a slow pace but every scene is enjoyable. Brilliant cinematography that portrays the feelings of each character. Something depressive but if we really take it from another perspective we can appreciate how beautiful this chapter is, although I know it can be difficult after those accelerated and excellent chapters 4 and 5, it is a chapter that must be seen calmly and without thinking too much and we will be able to see what is hidden behind it In conclusion, it is a beautiful, slow chapter that leaves us with many messages that depending on each person it will deliver. To enjoy it more, you have to have a more relaxed look, take a short pause after chapter 5 and appreciate every moment of this chapter 6.

A preparation for later seasons
meomeo77726 March 2024
For those who had read the book, it's quite clear that this chapter is from book 3 and it's a preparation for something very important later on in this book. I immediately recognized the setting for the later events and tears almost rolled out of my eyes knowing what the scene will lead to. But for the general audiences who did not know what's going on then you might think it's a drag. Consider the very fast pace of the season in general, I'd think that this chapter is not an exception, just it's something that the viewers won't know until season 2 or 3. Or maybe it's the intention of the writers to lay something in the mind of the viewers and they will receive the explosive "revelation" later on.

Auggie Salazar is indeed a Netflix creation, she is so bad I feel bad for the actress.

Warning: Spoilers
From the same person that corrected Jin remarks on a neurologist's pronouns that make zero difference in any plot, or sub-plot, in the story, we now have her calling Wade a "fascist". Where exactly was Wade fascist in the story so far? I would understand if she called him a wanna-be dictator, or even a tyrant if you want to be more philosophical. Besides Netflix's agenda, Auggie has no reason to call Wade a fascist, there's just no elements shown so far for anyone make this comparison, unless you are a person that waters down the meaning of "fascist", rendering the meaning of the word also diluted, hence not "fascist" anymore.

Auggie, in her insufferableness, talks to Jin about Raj's work as if he is supposed to talk to her about classified matters, or better yet, as if Auggie is supposed to talk about those same classified matters with her. A classic example of a smart person being written by dumb people.

Also, can Will's character be anything better than just "oh no I have cancer" and "I love Jin, but I can't confess"?

Trimming needed.
fede448831 March 2024
This is the lowest rated episode of the season and yet all the negative (and accurate) reviews are being downvoted. Strange. I guess only fanboys read reviews.

Anyway, if this were edited down to 22 minutes (the length of half and hour network tv) it would be a good episode. Keep the stuff that moves the way plot forward and get rid of the relationship stuff.

Episode summary: The "giant eye" formed in the sky by the San-Ti Sophon causes panic in the global population, leading to turmoil in major cities. Jin Cheng visits the imprisoned Ye Wenjie, questioning her about the need to attract the San-Ti to Earth.

Meh, out of steam and ideas
Rob-O-Cop15 April 2024
Nothing of interest happened in this episode. They spent a lot of time on mr cancer, who doesn't look that sick, and his love for one of the others, who he rightly points out is stupid to pursue.

This ep was a student drama.

Apparently this one group of friends holds all the keys to the future, how amazingly talented and important they are.

I can't see anything special happening in the last 2 episodes so I guess this show couldn't keep it up and keep it interesting even though it showed good promise and sparks of interest, it turned out to be little more than hipster youtube video shallow thoughts that didn't stand much thinking about. I don't know if I can be bothered finishing the series now.

Going downhill fast
jaggill_viper23 March 2024
This show has had issues before but they are amplified now that it's mostly become a melodrama about uninteresting characters and petty issues. Many characters don't seem to actually care about the events that just unfolded or the impending alien invasion. They are too busy being involved in their own personal problems rather than putting all of it aside. The narrow focus on the 4 scientist friends group drama is mind numbingly boring to watch at times. Saul and Will are often uninteresting at best. The Jin and Auggie characters are very arrogant and entitled.

This is extremely off putting as most of their esteem is completely unearned. They do their level best to show you how foolish, naive or immature they are. These characters are not unbelievable as the elite and accomplished scientists they are supposed to be. They act morally superior and make derogatory remarks against Raj and Wade (who are actually trying to win a war of survival) while acting like spoiled children and moody teens. It is completely out of hand and they are in need of adult supervision (along with the writers apparently).

The writers seem incapable of actually making these characters behave intelligently. They can't decide if they should grace humanity with their unique knowledge or do...nothing. It's unbelievable that these 2 can't be replaced. There are 1 million physicists in the world and millions of other intelligent people that apparently don't hold a candle to an alcoholic that never does any work but somehow produces cutting edge fibers or a physicist that has nothing going for her other than a BF out of her league. Auggie doesn't even run the company that makes the fibers! Meanwhile Raj and Wade are out there actually making a difference.

Dilution starts here
stijndeligt22 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
After a strong beginning and great adaptation, the show starts walk it's own path. It does this by largely ignoring the events that happened up to now, and moving on to Will dying of cancer.

He's not bad, but you can largely remove Will from the show and nothing changes. Except, you lose two episodes of filler. It's like two different shows accidentally merged (entangled, if you will) and nobody noticed until they released it.

Overall though, I liked the changes they made up unto this point. But with Will it's like they didn't even want to tell this story and would've rather made a movie about living with cancer.

I'm really really disappointed.
ponrainlee22 March 2024
I was looking forward to open, except about the beginning of the Chinese historical events close to the original, the other simply has nothing to do with the original. If you want to create, but at least respect the author Liu Cixin, who is based on the context of the Chinese era reflecting the struggles, compromises and expectations of the people of an era. The first thing is that the character relationships are particularly confusing, until I watched the second episode I didn't realize that my god it was like that, and then it's that the confusion of the character relationships leads to a plot that loses its logic, and the sex? Getting high? Have these actors not had sex in a long time? Oh, and the $120 million dollar investment results in the whole universe blinking for you actually looking at the light bulb, wtf? Is there no science advisor for that kind of money? Is this a trisomy created by a trisomy of people, please?
