One of the greatest moments of Game of Thrones Season 7 was when Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) figured out the truth about Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) true parentage. Thanks to Sam's book smarts and Bran's visions, everyone finally realized that Jon was not a

While Supergirl has always nailed the characterization of Kara Danvers and her band of do-gooder friends, the show had a big problem with underdeveloped villains over its first two seasons. This is clearly something the producers have tried to fix this year, though, with Odette Annable’s Reign. It’s still early days, of course, but it sure looks like she could go on to become one of the more layered antagonists of the Arrowverse.
Introduced in the season 3 premiere, ordinary National City citizen Samantha Arias discovered that she had superpowers when she saved her trapped daughter. Thanks to the stinger at the end of the season 2 finale though, we’re well aware that Sam is really Reign, a Kryptonian being known as a Worldkiller. Right now, the character is struggling to find out what she is, which should make it all the more dramatic and tragic when she eventually descends into villainy.

It seems Spider-Man will be out of commission for a while.
The star of Marvel’s recent web-slinging adaption, Tom Holland, might not have been feeling well, but his friends were there to help – and capture everything on camera.
In a hilarious Instagram video uploaded to his account on Tuesday, Holland struggles to sit up or even realize an ice pack is not a cell phone after getting a wisdom tooth removed.
“You’re doing great,” Holland’s friend, Harrison Osterfield, says off-camera.
Confused, the actor tries to take a phone call from his hospital bed, however despite having his phone in one hand,...

“The Spoils of War” may be a hard act to follow, but Game of Thrones season 7 marches on.
Its latest instalment, “Eastwatch,” is due to premiere via HBO on Sunday, August 13th, and it seems Daenerys will be trying to make amends with Jon Snow after blatantly ignoring his advice and riding Drogon over Westeros – much to the dismay of the Lannister army and, in particular, Jamie, who was last seen plummeting to the depths of a nearby lake. To her credit, Dany’s preemptive attack didn’t result in the destruction of the Red Keep (and with it, hundreds of innocent lives), and was more of a strategic power play to strike back at the Lannisters after losing Dorne, Casterly Rock, and much of her Iron Fleet.
Yes, Euron Greyjoy’s fearsome ship – dubbed The Silence for his decision to remove all of his crewmates’ tongues by hand – is...

1. “Friends From College” Season 1 (available July 14)
Why Should I Watch It? Ivy League graduates are largely insufferable, but Netflix is challenging that notion by assembling the most likable cast in recent memory to play a bunch of Harvard alumni reuniting in their late 30s. (Ok, so this list pretty much proves that all famous Ivy Leaguers are awesome, but you know the non-famous are impossible bores. No? Just me? Damn it.) Anyway, “Friends From College” brings together Keegan-Michael Key (Ethan), Cobie Smulders (Lisa), Annie Parisse (Sam), Nat Faxon (Nick), Fred Savage (Max), and Jae Suh Park (Marianne) — plus Kate McKinnon and Ike Barinholtz as guest stars — in a comedic exploration of old friendships from the creative minds of Nicholas Stoller (“Neighbors: Sorority Rising,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”) and Francesca Delbanco. Sounds like an ideal mixer, no? Good — at least we can agree on something.

Netflix's women's wrestling comedy Glow is now streaming, and the show is overflowing with a diverse cast of misfits just waiting for you to fall in love with them. The show's unlikeliest's hero is the director of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, Sam Sylvia. A former B-movie king, Sam is tasked with making Glow a reality, but who is playing the man behind that impressive '80s mustache? Glow's Sam Sylvia is played by comedian Marc Maron, a name you have no doubt heard before. Maron is best known for his hit podcast Wtf with Marc Maron and his self-titled IFC comedy, the irreverent Maron. As you can tell, the comedian is his own brand. Thanks to his distinctive dry, culturally savvy sense of humor, it's not hard to tell when you're watching something Maron is involved in. While he's not credited as a writer on Glow, he brings...

"I feel like you're ashamed everywhere we go." Another awesome horror short film worth your time. This year is a stand out year for deaf performances/characters, in films like Wonderstruck, John Wick: Chapter 2, and Baby Driver. We can also include this short film, titled Dawn of the Deaf, about a few deaf people who must band together to survive in a zombie apocalypse - though it's much more about the relationship the main girl has with everyone in her life. It was made by deaf actors in London and tries to show disability as a strength, not a weakness. Starring Caroline Ward as Sam. This takes its time to build up and establish all the characters, then tosses in some crazy twists that have a strong emotional effect. Watch in full below. Thanks to Alicia Malone for the tip on this. Description from Vimeo: "When a strange sound wipes out the hearing population, a small group of Deaf people must ...

Thanks to the members of Act Up (The AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power), being HIV-Positive is no longer a death sentence. But what happened to survivors of the initial wave of the AIDS epidemic, those members of the lost generation we never lost? Does the younger generation afford these survivors the respect they deserve, and could it ever be enough? These are the questions at the heart of “After Louie,” a moving new film from original Act Up member Vincent Gagliostro.

Thanks to Supernatural, people get to see Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki kick ass every week as the demon-hunting Winchester brothers. While we love their onscreen bromance (literally), it's the bond they share outside of work that really tugs at our fandom hearts. The two actors have been close friends since the show premiered in 2005, and since then, they've seen each other through weddings, babies, and everything in between. So how exactly did these two meet? While the show is what obviously brought them together, their first interaction is actually a whole lot cuter than just two stars showing up on set. RelatedJared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles Have So Much in Common, They're Like Real Brothers During one of their previous Supernatural conventions in New Jersey, the duo was asked about their first impressions of each other, and their answers prove that fate stepped in to bring them together. In a matter of hours, Supernatural will have wrapped its twelfth season with a two-hour finale as the cult favorite horror series continues its attempt at being this generation’s answer to Gunsmoke. But before the festivities kickoff, let’s have a look at a sneak peek that’s surfaced online today.
From what we can gather, the clip embedded at the top likely picks up not long after where last week’s episode left off – with Sam and Dean Winchester trapped in the Men of Letters bunker with the very woman who brought foot torture to primetime television, Toni Bevell.
Thanks to Mr. Ketch and his cohorts, this powder keg of a trio are left with seemingly no way out and a limited air supply. Knowing that desperate times call for desperate measures, it looks like they’ll rely on supernatural means (what else?) to get out of this precarious position.

“The Daily Show” may have entered a new era with host Trevor Noah, but it’s not like the old cast went into retirement. Husband-and-wife contributors Jason Jones and Samantha Bee are among the most productive former members of the Jon Stewart “Daily Show” years — which is particularly notable once you discover they came close to taking over the program themselves.
Instead, the pair found a welcome home at TBS, where Bee hosts the weekly satiric news program “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” (which will air the special “Not the White House Correspondents Dinner” this weekend) and Jones serves as an executive producer. Meanwhile, the couple is also behind the TBS comedy “The Detour,” a subversive family comedy that they co-wrote and in which Jones stars.
Now wrapping its second season, “The Detour” began as an over-the-top road trip comedy with Jones as a corporate whistleblower moving his family across the country.

There is some definite forward narrative momentum in this episode, beyond the unlikeliness of Eric Beal, NCIS Field Agent.
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 8 Episode 9 featured more Densi developments, some Callen family drama and the return of NCIS's most unlikely field agent.
Callen and his father had an uncomfortable reunion, as Garrison was discovered protecting the comatose Katerina from gunmen at a hospital.
Garrison promised Callen answers the next time they met, and he got them, even if he didn't like them much. Garrison stayed away from Callen and her sister in the hope of keeping them away from his dangerous business. Callen didn't buy that.
I don't forgive you, and I don't know that I ever will.

Callen also finds out he has a half-sister, Alex, from Garrison's affair with Katerina while he was serving as her CIA handler.

It's been a long summer without Jane Villanueva gracing our screens!
After the reveal Susanna was Rose in disguise and Michael's subsequent shooting, we were all left wondering whether Officer Cordero would survive.
Well on Jane the Virgin Season 3 Episode 1, we finally got our answer.
Elsewhere in the episode, Jane reflected on the beginning of her relationship with Michael, Anezka worried about keeping her identity a secret, and Xo revealed her pregnancy to Rogelio.
Real life isn't a fairytale or romance novel, and happy endings aren't always guaranteed. Thankfully, we have Jane the Virgin. This is show about faith: faith in family, faith in friendship, faith in love.
Jane's faith in love was tested as she waited for news of Michael's condition. Seeing that your husband's been shot is no way to spend your wedding night. Alas, this is a telenovela, so drama is waiting around every corner.

This review is based on the first episode.
I’m not sure that many of us who have been faithfully watching Supernatural since the pilot aired way back in 2005 thought it would make it to twelve seasons. It takes strong ratings, a great cast and crew, cult followers, and maybe even a little luck to make it this far. Those factors have not only allowed this series to endure, but to thrive.
Although Supernatural will forever remain a horror show at its core, an important quality that it’s never lost is that it’s the story of two brothers – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester – who will literally move Heaven and Earth for one another. Furthermore, the basics are still prevalent: “Saving people, hunting things, the family business” – and it feels more like the family business than it has in years.
This is no doubt due to the freshly resurrected Mary Winchester,...

Caden Cotard wakes up with aching limbs to the sound of the television blaring, his four-year-old daughter yelling from the bathroom and his wife clinking around in the kitchen. Caden's house feels small and cluttered, as though the walls are bearing down on him. The light is cold and rancid.
Based on this opening sequence, Charlie Kaufman's Synecdoche, New York feels like a movie grounded in a particularly unvarnished kind of reality. The interiors aren't the brightly-lit open spaces we're used to seeing in Hollywood productions.

“The Mindy Project” season 4 finale ended with a major cliffhanger, and Hulu has created a neat stop-motion trailer that recounts the drama before the end. Danny and Mindy’s love story has been a centerpiece of the show, and is a relationship fans liken “Cheers” mainstays Sam and Diane. It’s been a winding road for the two, from frenemies to lovers to parents of baby Leo, so it wasn’t a totally surprising turn of events when they split in the middle of Season 4, or when they hooked up in the finale…except for the fact that Danny is now engaged to another woman.

Give most any performer half a chance, and they’ll tell you how hard it is to be in show business. There’s the constant rejection, soul-crushing survival jobs and the unique hell of internet trolls. But Gillian Jacobs and Kate Micucci aren’t any performers. As they chiseled eccentric paths through the contemporary comedy landscape, both actresses have managed to keep their spirits high. And with the new showbiz dramedy “Don’t Think Twice,” the delightful duo finally had a chance to share the screen, much to our collective good fortune.

Thanks to The CW network, we have our first look at next week’s brand new episode of Supernatural, which is titled “Love Hurts.” The series has put its own bloody spin on Valentine’s Day in the past, as the horror genre is no stranger to doing, so it should be interesting to see what they bring to the table this time around.
From the footage given, we can see that Sam and Dean Winchester are investigating a case in which people have had their hearts ripped out, causing them to first suspect werewolves. As it turns out, next week’s brand of terror is actually a product of an ancient curse that marks people for death once they have been kissed. That sounds like the worst possible case of cooties to me!

All hail, Han Solo! Thanks to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Harrison Ford is now the highest-grossing actor in U.S. box office history. And the guy's 73! Talk about getting better with age. This is one of those lists that rewards longevity, since the more blockbusters you make, the more you rise on the list.
If you check out the actor rankings at Box Office Mojo, it's still pretty close at the top, but Harrison is now sitting comfortably at No. 1, with a current (and rising) gross of $4.74 billion. Samuel L. Jackson (age 67) -- whose work in the "Star Wars" prequels, "Jurassic Park," and "The Avengers" films launched him to the top of the list -- was pushed down to No. 2 with a gross of $4.63 billion. However, Sam definitely has the potential to reclaim his throne, since he has a ton of new movies coming out and he tends to land roles in major blockbusters.

Thanks to Naomie Harris, Moneypenny is more than just a Bond Girl.
Ever since "Skyfall," when she took on the role of MI6's most famous executive assistant, Harris has helped define the character's personality in ways that the Bond series never has -- mostly because Moneypenny didn't have one before.
With her origin story firmly established in the previous film, the character moves forward in "Spectre" -- finding herself caught between a "changing of the guard" within London's espionage community and the old guard represented by Bond's unique brand of kill-them-or-kiss-them tradecraft. Moviefone recently sat down with Harris to talk about Moneypenny's new role in this brave (and violent) new world, and how she keeps the character progressive while remaining true to the 007 legacy.

Actress Jessica Chobot plays Samus in this short, reminding me a bit of the way Robert Downey Jr. plays Iron Man in the suit. There's a very impressive, old school, gritty deep space sci-fi vibe to this that makes it so fascinating. Plus, I love a really good sci-fi short. Whether or not you're a Metroid fan, this is worth a watch. Thanks to ComingSoon for the tip on this film. Original description for Metroid:...

While many accuse the various entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe of being too lightweight and lacking substance, Captain America: The Winter Soldier managed to subtly have something to say. The film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, explored some hot button issues when it came out in 2014. Namely the handing over of civil liberties in the name of "homeland security," and the United States recent penchant for drone strikes. With a title like Civil War, some have wondered if the Russos- who are back for the next entry in the Captain America series- would also attempt to be timely and use its voice to comment on what's going on.
According to Anthony Mackie, who reprises his role as Sam "Falcon" Wilson in the film, Captain America: Civil War will absolutely be relevant.
When asked about whether or not the film would be topical, Mackie had this to say:
"Very much so.

Fringe, Supernatural, Bob's Burgers... zombies pop up in all kinds of surprising places. Remember that time Ramsay Street was invaded?
Back in the 80s and 90s, the only groups regularly enjoying zombie movies were habitually stoned students, young lads looking to prove their mettle by lobbing VHS grenades of gore at each other's minds, and great sweating giants with mutton-chops corseted into two-sizes-too-small Iron Maiden T-shirts. Very few couples partook of the genre; liver-ripping and eye-gouging was rarely seen as the essential romantic complement to an evening entwined on the couch.
Aside from George A Romero’s satirical side-swipes at society, the majority of zombie movies were gloriously nasty, schlocky yuck-fests, with names like ‘Return Of The Great Zombie Intenstine Carnival III’, 'Zombies! Zombies, Oh, Christ Zombies, They're Eating My Eyes!' and ‘I Claw-hammered My Zombie Grandma’S Head Off’. Anyone with access to a video camera,...

I recently had the chance to sit down with two of the talented writers (director Michael Dougherty was also a writer on the film) behind the upcoming film Krampus, Todd Casey and Zach Shields. Along with Dougherty they are also part of the team responsible for the four part collection of short stories set in the Trick 'r Treat universe, titled Days Of The Dead. While the original film has an extensive cult following, Days Of The Dead also serves as a little taste of what could possibly be a full-fledged film return to Sam's spooky little world.
Gt's Matt Mueller: One of the most noticeable things about all four stories is that at their core is an unexpected sentimentality. It is something I didn’t necessarily expect, but ultimately was a pleasant surprise. There is a lot of heartbreak and pain in these stories, but also a rather big splash of hope,...

Fans of the 2007 horror anthology Trick 'r Treat can now enjoy an early Halloween goodie in the form of Legendary Comics' Trick 'r Treat: Days of the Dead, a graphic novel containing four eclectic Halloween horror stories and featuring Sam, one of cinema's ultimate enforcers of All Hallow's Eve traditions. For our latest Q&A feature, Daily Dead caught up with two of the comic's co-writers, Todd Casey and Zach Shields, who discussed creating Days of the Dead, co-writing Michael Dougherty's upcoming Krampus film, and much more.
Where did the idea for Trick 'r Treat: Days of the Dead originate?
Todd Casey: I came late to the party, so I'll defer to the others on this. But my assumption is that people have been waiting a long time for Trick 'r Treat 2 (Mike included) and a comic made sense as a way to begin welcoming people back into that world.

Drama and danger are prevalent within Alexandria's walls on AMC's The Walking Dead right now, and in the middle of the mayhem is Major Dodson, who plays Sam Anderson on the series. For our latest Q&A feature, we recently caught up with Major, who discussed working with Melissa McBride and Andrew Lincoln, his time on American Horror Story: Freak Show, and much more.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Major. You do a great job playing Sam Anderson on The Walking Dead. Were you a fan of the show before joining the cast?
Major Dodson: I had only seen one episode on a plane TV during a trip, and it was an episode where a lot of people died. After I was cast as Sam, my entire family started watching from episode one and now we all are huge fans!
