At 42 years of age, Chris Evans boasts of being one of the most recognizable actors globally thanks to his stint as Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A role that he debuted in the MCU with way back in 2011 and held for nearly a decade has also earned him a place as one of the best action heroes. Additionally, the beloved treatment of his character at the hands of Joe and Anthony Russo made it all the more popular while giving fans a lot to cheer about.

Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow had been one of the primary faces of the MCU’s Infinity Saga. She amassed a huge fanbase for playing Black Widow. Now, it looks like the star is all set to join a new big-budget franchise, Jurassic World. According to the latest reports, the actress has been offered a role in the upcoming film in the franchise created by Gareth Edwards.
Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow
The fans were disheartened when Black Widow had an unfortunate end in Avengers: Endgame. The character made a massive contribution to Scarlett Johansson’s career. She also holds the record for being the second highest-grossing box office star of all time. If the reports are true and if she proceeds with the Jurassic World offer, then we may see her in another billion-dollar film franchise.

Track by Track is a recurring feature series in which artists guide readers through every song on their latest release. Today, Declan McKenna takes us through his new record, What Happened to the Beach?.
Declan McKenna has returned with What Happened to the Beach?, the follow-up to 2021’s Zeroes. The album sees McKenna continuing to develop a more relaxed style, allowing for the psychedelic and pop components to shine through even more brilliantly.
What Happened to the Beach? is intentionally a more joyful album than McKenna’s prior efforts. While remaining a powerful songwriter, he’s now more open to a good time or two.
McKenna explains that two main influences for the album were St. Vincent and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. The artist says of St. Vincent: “She takes the guitar to a really cool place. Everything can be manipulated.” Meanwhile, he cites Umo’s hypnotic and spacey energies...

In this week’s Evil, life is like an elevator: Sometimes it brings you to heights you might not have reached otherwise, sometimes it strands you with a sassy succubus to await your certain death.
And our core trio certainly hits some highs and lows during the hour, which finds David decking a guy at a party, Kristin bringing her kids along on an investigation and Ben tapping out final goodbye notes on his smartphone. Plus, there’s a very creepy urban legend mixed into the fun, in case your week was lacking in jump scares. (Read Aasif Mandvi’s take on the episode here.

This Evil review contains spoilers.
Evil Season 2 Episode 4
Evil season 2, episode 4, “E Is for Elevator,” stops between floors to squeeze in an urban legend. The team is called in on a job outside their scope, an internet game. It has no demonic ties except for a pentagram drawn on the floor of a player. With that as the only spiritual tie, David Acosta (Mike Colter) goes off to contemplate the mysteries of his superiors’ faith in Leland Townshend (Michael Emerson), while Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) and Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi) go pushing buttons.
The family who calls in the team admits there is no satanic connection, but the police have already written them off, and tagged their son a runaway. The whole thing would have been passed on if it weren’t for the game. This gives the episode a pass for an all-ages admission, and lets the children play.

The Odds sits alongside movies like Buried and Elevator which have a set of characters (or character) in one small setting for the entirety of the movie. In The Odds we see a man and woman sat opposite each other at a table in a small room from pretty much the first minute to the last.
I actually like these types of movies. Having that singular setting and a limited amount of characters means that the film has to rely on great performances and/or a great script if it wants to excel. The characters here are sat at the table to play a game. Well, at least one of them, the woman. She is hoping to win $1 million dollars in a pain endurance ‘game’ that is being filmed seemingly for people to put bets on.

The members of Gang of Four would likely be the first to tell you that you do not need an extravagant Gang of Four box set. They’re the ones who released a 45 sarcastically titled “To Hell With Poverty” and backed it up with “Capital (It Fails Us Now),” a lampoon about a newborn baby reaching for its credit card. They skewered advertising culture on “I Found That Essence Rare” and quipped, “The problem of leisure, what to do for pleasure, ideal love a new purchase” on “Natural’s Not in It.

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel unpacks the tragic case of Elisa Lam, a young traveler who was found in the water tank of the Cecil Hotel in 2013. Her cause of death was officially listed as an accidental drowning with her bipolar disorder as a significant factor. However, the strange details around her case attracted amateur detectives who contested this ruling. Before her body was found, police released security footage of her behaving oddly in the hotel elevator. Unsurprisingly, web sleuths picked apart the video to formulate speculations about foul play. One of the oddest theories to emerge was that Lam was playing The Elevator Game, a routine reminiscent of Bloody Mary. If you're unfamiliar with this game, keep reading ahead to find out what it's all about - it's pretty creepy stuff.

Click here to read our french "Elevator" movie review, directed by Stig Svendsen with Christopher Backus, Anita Briem, John Getz starring. When nine partygoers find themselves trapped 50 floors above Manhattan with a bomb, they are forced to set aside their differences and learn to cooperate. But resentments run deep, and each character has a motive that could doom the survival of all. With issues of racism, greed, war, politics and infidelity converging in one tiny space, Elevator offers a new perspective on terrorism, and raises questions about who the real criminals are in a world where financial markets can be so easily manipulated by a powerful few. The message is powerful, and the suspense unbearable. How far would you go to survive?...

From my experience, horror films are always the most interesting but least attended films at smaller film festivals as festival audiences seem to be more interested in stories about losing your virginity than werewolves and zombies. After suffering through John Erick Dowdle’s 2010 supernatural thriller “Devil”, the idea of spending yet another cinematic adventure with a group of people stuck on an elevator doesn’t seem too appealing. However, try as I might, I can’t seem to make myself not want to see Stig Svendsen’s upcoming horror flick “Elevator”, which is co-produced by the good folks behind “Dead Snow”. Considering how much I adore the aforementioned zombie opus, it’s hard for me to formulate reasons not to investigate this title properly once it finds distribution here in the States. The embedded trailer suggests good things, but then again, so did the countless clips for “Devil”. I will tap my chin thoughtfully until it arrives. Via Twitch function getVideo() { var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/xplayer/yo033.swf", "mplayer", "590", "375", "8", "#000000"); so.addParam("wmode","transparent"); so.addParam("swliveconnect", "true"); so.addParam("allowscriptaccess", "always"); so.

Love these one room thrillers... Elevator is written and produced by Marc Rosenberg and directed by Stig Svendsen. It is a new indie thriller co-produced between the USA and Norway - with the Norwegian side including one of the producers of Dead Snow - with the film shot in La with all post work done in Norway.
According to Twitch, the film is about a group of people who get stuck in an elevator and told there's a bomb on board.
Check out the trailer after the break.

We recently visited the set of Elevator, an independent film that takes place on, you guessed it, an elevator. During a party for the Barton Investment Company, nine people end up trapped in the elevator of a Manhattan hi-rise and discover someone has a bomb. The result is a story of racial tension, financial scandal, scorned lovers, and revenge.
The key here is that the action occurs Entirely on an elevator. With the exception of one brief establishing scene at the start of the film, the nine-member cast spends 90 minutes confined to a small metal box as the drama unfolds around them.
It is written and produced by Marc Rosenberg, a Texas native transplanted to Australia, who is back in the States making his first U.S. film with Norwegian director Stig Svendson. Tor Arne Øvrebø, Svendson's line producer on many projects prior to Elevator, is...
