Many production teams drip-feed news about casting - often as a means of keeping their film on the public radar - and it seems The Dark Knight Rises is no exception.
We've just learned of another actor who is part of Chris Nolan's closely-guarded Batman movie, which is now shooting and is set for release on July 20, 2012.
Stargate star Christopher Judge has tweeted: "I can finally confirm: I have been cast in The Dark Knight Rises."
Judge did not disclose who he is playing but he has a distinctive look, build and voice, which could point towards a noteworthy role. Fans have been speculating that he may have been cast as Ubu, the musclebound henchman and bodyguard of archvillain Ra's al Ghul, and this seems a plausible option.
Liam Neeson is reprising his role as Ra's al Ghul and Josh Pence is playing a younger version. Ra's seemingly died...

Hitting movie theaters this weekend:
From Prada to Nada – Camilla Belle, Alexa Vega, Kuno Becker (limited)
The Mechanic – Jason Statham, Ben Foster, Donald Sutherland
The Rite – Colin O’Donoghue, Anthony Hopkins, Ciarán Hinds
Movie of the Week
The Mechanic
The Stars: Jason Statham, Ben Foster, Donald Sutherland
The Plot: An elite hit man teaches his trade to an apprentice who has a connection to one of his previous victims.
The Buzz: Jason Statham is kind of cookie cutter, and this looks to be just another of his many action extravaganzas, but he does turn in some good work from time to time. Death Race, for instance, was good, and I enjoyed the first Transporter too. Ben Foster has been on the rise now for quite some time — I imagine a few years from now he’ll be knocking on the door of the household name. I enjoyed him a lot in Pandorum,...

So the day has come for you folks to take home Costas Mandylor in the final chapter of the phenomenon that is Saw! Well, at least until the inevitable reboot. Even cooler...if the jolly red-suited fatman brought you a 3D television last month, you can watch this puppy in its gory 3D glory, too.
Another franchise that is buzzing this week is the video game sequel, Dead Space 2. In addition to the game itself, you can also bring home the collector's edition, the album soundtrack, a hardcover game guide, and an animated DVD movie. That should keep you busy for a while.
Oh yeah, there are a couple of other interesting titles with some familiar faces from "True Blood", "Angel", "Buffy", and even "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman".

Early last year, FEARnet made a new friend in fear when we chatted with screenwriter Brandon Auman, who had penned the screenplay for Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic, the animated tie-in to Visceral and EA's blasphemous brawler. With the upcoming release of Dead Space 2, EA once again turned to Auman to expand on the mythology of their franchise with Dead Space: Aftermath, an animated anthology that explores just what happened between the two games. And we once again turned to the always-enthusiastic Auman for the inside scoop! FEARnet: The look of Dead Space: Aftermath bears a stronger resemblance to Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic with its constantly shifting art styles than Dead Space:...

So, a new year is upon us and people worldwide will be making false promises that, deep down, they know they will break at the first given opportunity. However, I have made a new year's resolution that I am determined to keep; one that is vital if I hope to continue to provide you with objective, impartial gaming news. To put it simply, I intend to try and 'grow a pair' in regards to my game choices because, as I mentioned before, I just can't hack horror or gory Fps titles. BioShock, Dead Space, Silent Hill: Homecoming - all great titles I missed because of my infantile nerves. However, I have set a date of January 25th to correct this, a date that will also coincide with the release of EA Games' latest animated movie, Dead Space: Aftermath.

Cinema Lounge Roundtable: An Interview with the Filmmakers - October 2010
In many ways a short film can be a greater challenge than a feature simply due to the fact that, in a short, every moment counts. Each month we are committed to bringing you collection of diverse, impactful, and entertaining shorts and this month's line up is no different. This month's stories from an old man's daily pilgrimage, a middle-aged man's foray into the "viral video" craze, and the discovery of what happens after love, to a modern re-telling of Jean Paul Sartre's short story, an encounter with an important stranger, and charismatic drag queen's unfortunate one-night stand. This month filmmakers Jonathan Ade, J.J. Adler, Kent Hayward, Ben Garchar, Brandon Auman, Pierre Ferriere, and Lena Waithe discuss their films and the process of getting them made.
