I personally had the privilege of watching this movie in my A-Level International History course and it really gave me a much wider perspective about the situation in Germany during the Soviet occupation of East Germany. One of the best elements of this documentary is the personal anecdotes that were combined in order to provide the viewers with a very complete description of the general feelings of the time. The stories allowed me to relate a lot more to the victims as well as those who were better off but still struggled with the situation. I can honestly say that after watching this film, all the facts I had studied previously about the period became much more solidified. It really opened my eyes to different points of view. Undoubtedly, this is a firm I would not only recommend to anyone who is interested in learning about this period in history but also to anyone who just wants to sit down and watch something interesting. This isn't a your typical dull documentary, it's actually very engaging and arousing.
