We pick up where we left off, with Ray and Jessica making out in the lake. They haul themselves out and run into his tent and keep making out in the sleeping bag. He calls her beautiful. They kiss more. He goes to undo her bra and she says she has to go. He asks if she wants to. She says know but goes anyway. He asks when he'll see her again. She says she doesn't know but it was really great and runs off in her ball gown.
Ronnie is hiding in the men's room and he calls Mindy. She asks if he's okay. He says no and he asks her for a ride.
Tanya pulls up to her house to find Damon sitting on her steps. He asks to come inside. She lets him. He asks if she's okay. She asks if Ray can come pick him up. He asks Tanya to be his poetry mentor. She asks why. He says because she's kind of awesome. She said earlier that night she hit her boss with a belt. Damon says maybe she deserved it. Tanya says no one deserves to be hit. He says she invited him to her poetry reading and helped him when he was high so if she hit someone once, big deal. He sits down and says that in Michigan everyone else is the same except her. Tanya hangs her head and Damon puts her hand on his knee.
Mindy came to get Ron with her husband who commiserates over Ronnie's problems. Mindy looks very unhappy. At a gas station her husband gets out to get a snack and Mindy says she didn't invite him. She says she feels bad that Jessica walked out on Ronnie but she feels the same way and she wishes she could walk out on her husband. She turns around and starts giving him a handjob and says she always felt there was something between them. She says she never would've left him on that stage. Ronnie doesn't get to finish because her husband comes back to quickly. He hands Ronnie a Twix bar.
Ray goes to visit Lenore. She's yelling at someone in a call center in India. Ray gives her a thousand. She says he owes her 500 more. He tries to leave saying he needs to take a break. She asks why, did his dick break? She tells him to go back to being a nobody. She says she's got Liz booked this afternoon and whether he's going to see her. He says no. She wonders if it's about Jessica and says she isn't going to take him back and Ray is crazy if he thinks she will. Ray says he's not a nobody, he's a father, teacher, and used to be a pretty good husband and if he gets another chance he's not going to screw it up.
Ray talks to his neighbor Koontz about selling him his house. Koontz says he isn't sure and that he'll have to check with his wife.
Tanya goes to see Francis who almost runs her over trying to get away from her. Tanya lies down behind her car and says she's just here to apologize, she's not trying to be scary. Francis says she doesn't care why she's there. Tanya says she will pay her back every penny and she's sorry. She wants to mend fences for Mike. She explains that Mike had no idea. Francis says she knows that she was paying for him and that someday Mike will know too and look askance at her. Tanya begs her to believe that she and Mike can be whatever they want to be.
Jessica sits sadly at her vanity. Ronnie comes in and tells him that Mindy tried to jerk him off and that he stopped her. He says now they're even for her going to see another dermatologist. She says no, she needs a break and she and her mother and the kids need to get away for awhile. He says he can't believe that he gave her everything he had and she's leaving. He offers to sleep on the couch and that she should think about it. She says she has thought about it.
Ray tries to pump up Mike for playoffs. Mike is ignoring him. Then he gives up some intel on the other team because he can't help himself. Ray apologizes and says he had no idea what was going on but he knows Mike was happy and he shouldn't let that slip away. Mike walks out.
Ray is pulling stuff to the curb as Jessica drives up. He tells her he's selling the house. She says he loves the house. He says he'll get a bigger and better one. She says she has to tell him something. He says he does too and confesses last night in the lake he was happy and he wants to know how he can get that back, what he needs to do to have her love him again. She says she loves him and knows him but she can't be with him right now. She can't go from man to man, she has to be on her own for awhile. She tells him to say okay and good luck and that he's proud of her. He doesn't. He says "did Lenore talk to you?"
Tanya goes to visit her mother in her big, new office. They bicker as usual. She's come to ask for the necklace back that she gave her and the money she paid for her mother's dinner. She apologizes and says her mother was right about Tanya not being able to afford it. Her mother is aghast.
Mike sits outside Francis' house screwing up his courage. He's brought flowers and candy. He rings the bell.
Jessica and the kids check into a hotel room.
Koontz makes Ray an offer which Ray deems to low. He says he'll think about it.
The kids are over for a barbecue. They bemoan the fact that they're orphans. Ray points out that they have parents. They then complain their homeless and tell Ray not to sell since they love this house. He says they're not homeless, they're mother just needs some space and he will have another home soon.
Tanya shows up. She pulls Ray aside and tells him that she got all the money back and is going to repay Francis. He says that's not enough. She says she knows but she needs him to forgive her that she didn't even know what she was doing. They walk to the end of the pier and Ray says it's his favorite place in the world. He says he told Lenore that he's quitting. He says he wants to get Jessica back. Tanya offers to help him. She says she knows alot about women. She says they made women happy with their happiness consultant business before they forgot about the happiness part. She asks if she can stay for the barbecue. He smiles at her and says she can.
Ray remembers that as a kid he loved this house and that he was the luckiest kid in Detroit. He decides it's time to get lucky again.
