While many paranormal enthusiasts focus on Area 51, Camp Hero in Montauk, Long Island was another government location where secret experiments supposedly took place. Montauk Chronicles delves into the legends surrounding this area and we’ve recently shared the trailer and a couple of clips. If you’re looking for more, we have an additional four minutes of footage from the movie.
“It has been referred to as Area 51 east. Montauk is a remote U.S. town located on the very eastern tip of Long Island, New York. High on a hill above the rocky waters of the Atlantic Ocean looms a giant rusted radar tower. It’s a ghost relic of the past that local fishermen use as a marker to help guide their ships safely to shore. The old military tower is also a landmark for what once was an active Camp Hero Air Force Base.

We're less than a week away from the limited edition Blu-Ray and DVD release of 'Montauk Chronicles,' the new documentary project from filmmaker Chris Garetano ('Horror Business') and now a 5-minute preview (the first of three scenes) from the movie has made it's way on-line. 'Montauk Chronicles' examines the stories and legends that surround the alleged Montauk Project: A government program that kidnapped young teens for a wide range of sinister and phantasmagoric experiments. Garetano's unique approach combines interviews with people who claimed to have worked on the Montauk project along with narrative re-creations of some of the nightmare inducing experiements discussed in the doc. Savvy genre fans should take note - you'll spot Paul W. Ehlers in this 5 minute clip; he's the fellow that played Madman Marz in the early 80's "slasher" cult classic 'Madman.'
Other interviewees include Dr. Barry Taff ('The Entity...

Montauk, N.Y., is a picturesque, oceanside resort community on the tip of Long Island, where the rich and famous have fun in the sun. Montauk is also known for Camp Hero, a decommissioned Air Force base.
Conspiracy theorists and people who say they have spent time there claim Camp Hero was once used for bizarre, secret experiments that included mind control, time travel and contact with extraterrestrials. All of these claims are presented in "Montauk Chronicles," a new movie that has its world premiere Friday in the resort town.
While the movie features interviews with real people, much of the film centers around dramatic recreations of events they claim happened to them.
"Montauk Chronicles" movie trailer:
"When you walk through the area, you see this giant, imposing radar tower that still stands," said Christopher Garetano, executive producer, writer and director of "Montauk Chronicles." "Above ground, there are also huge doors,...
