Forgettable effort Warning: Spoilers
I expected more from this 90 minute television movie from 3.5 years ago when I saw that the director and writer were both fairly experienced filmmakers in drama and even even more in comedy. Sadly, they did not deliver this time. Knaup ("Lives of Other", "Lola rennt") plays his part well and delivers as always, but he cannot carry this on his own as everything else is just really forgettable. Schneeberger plays the same character as always and the rest of the cast are not very gifted either and their characters really have nothing memorable about them. The plot is basically how everybody in this film goes on a trip to Padua, Italy, some for religious reasons, some for holiday reasons, some looking to find a new partner, some looking to find God. Occasionally, they are arguing, occasionally they are singing, and occasionally they are just doing really nothing at all sitting in a bus. This movie does not succeed as a comedy and the dramatic moments aren't well-written either. The negative highlight was maybe the random marriage proposition at the end after they were separated previously. Lots of nonsense. And the worst, we as the audience should even approve of the couple. Not recommended.
