The young, ambitious policewoman Johanna has just finished her training when she falls off a cliff during her first police assignment in a quarry. Her colleagues insist that it was a terrible accident - Johanna simply fell because of the darkness. But her colleague and friend Stani, who works for the Czech police, cannot imagine that. The drug dealer who managed to free himself from police custody on the evening in question was found just as lifeless a few days after Johanna's death. That can't be a coincidence. "The Sicilian", the dealer's internal police name, was not a drug addict, but died of an overdose... Was he murdered? Stani seeks help from Grete, Johanna's godmother, who actually wants to enjoy her retirement in peace. The former inspector does not want to help Stani at first, she does not feel authorized to intervene. But since Johanna's death is very close to her heart, she finally agrees to help the young Czech colleague. The two begin their secret investigation in the Czech Republic and gradually come across more clues that point to crooked dealings and do not suggest an accident. The Czech and German police colleagues also seem to be involved in crooked business. Can Grete still trust her old colleagues? What are the police trying to cover up and what did Johanna have to do with it all?
