ultimately the plot is too compressed
Dean toying with saying yes to Michael is a plot development that was always going to happen. Likewise, Adam being the Angel's plan B was something that should have always occurred. I don't know if it was a casting availability issue or what but both of these notions are strong enough on their own to warrant an episode. They shouldn't have been slammed together into a single episode. Otherwise this was excellent.
