Chesca has released her first single of 2022, and like the Lunay song that shares the same title, the bachata-trap bop “Soltera” embraces the power of being single. It also celebrates femininity. The Puerto Rican singer premieres the track’s music video with Rolling Stone.

The second installment of DC FanDome has a date: Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ Covid-era virtual fan convention is happening on Saturday, Oct. 16. And yes, just like last year the whole thing is free to everyone.
DC Fandome 2021 will stream on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter as well as on DCFanDome.com. And like the original 2021 event it will feature presentations promoting a range of DC Comics-related movies, TV shows and, of course, comic books.

If you’re a big fan of the Injustice: Gods Among Us gaming franchise, there is some good news for you all. No, we will not be getting a third installment like we’ve been waiting for. But don’t worry, I predict an announcement for that game will be coming soon. But the news that I’m talking about is more of a sudden shocker. It has been reported that Warner Bros. As we wait an announcement pertaining to the existence of NetherRealm Studios’ Injustice 3, we at least know that Warner Bros. is set to adapt the games into a DC animated movie.
Ever since its release in 2013, the Injustice franchise has not only become a staple of NetherRealm’s roster, but the comic spinoffs have made it a beloved part of the DC multiverse. The plot revolves around a reality where the Joker was able to mess with Superman so badly that the Man of Steel gradually became a mass-murdering dictator, with the support of several members of the Justice League. Left without any other option, Batman brought in counterparts of the Justice League from the “mainstream” universe to help him fight a civil war against his former friend. It was a story that merged the Justice Lords two-parter from the Justice League cartoon with Marvel’s original Squadron Supreme comic series.

Well, just when I thought NetherRealm Studios couldn’t get more ambitious. They’ve done some crazy stuff with the Mortal Kombat franchise and the Injustice games, but now, I’m hearing some news that just tops it all. The release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League is a moment that belongs to the fans who petitioned for years to not just see a more definitive version of 2017’s Justice League but director Zack Snyder‘s complete vision for a Justice League film.
While the discourse over the quality of that vision will wage on, our own critic suggests that Snyder doesn’t quite achieve his goals for a Justice League film much less the idea of a live-action Justice League film so good that it somehow becomes hard to imagine that idea ever being done better. Perhaps some of those shortcomings can be attributed to the unique nature of his cut’s development and release, but there’s still a feeling that Snyder is chasing something he may not have the chance to catch.

Two decades ago the police tried to silence Ken Fero’s fearless documentary Injustice. Twenty years later, his follow-up is filled with even more pain and outrage
It has taken 19 years for Ken Fero to complete the follow-up to Injustice, his unforgettable film about deaths in police custody. But perhaps the surprising thing is that he finished it at all. Injustice is the great documentary about brutality in the police – a shocking exposé of deaths resulting from beatings, shootings, teargassing, asphyxiation and neglect. The film, co-directed by Tariq Mehmood, won numerous awards, yet was never shown on television and as good as destroyed Fero’s career. As he says today, no broadcaster would touch him after Injustice.
Yet Fero is now back with Ultraviolence, another collaboration with Mehmood and their film-making collective Migrant Media. Like Injustice, it does far more than document deaths in custody. It follows the families who...

Now that we got the latest Mortal Kombat game, fans like me are itching for Injustice 3. Gamers have a bevy of fighting titles to choose from these days, and the options only continue to grow. Just in the past few years, the fighting game community has been granted such huge hitters as Street Fighter V, Mortal Kombat 11, Soul Calibur VI and Tekken 7, proving that the genre and its most beloved franchises are as strong as ever. Of course, there are newer entries into the arena, too, but that doesn’t make them any less sought after – and that goes double when they’re based on established properties that almost everyone enjoys.
That was the case with 2013’s Injustice: Gods Among Men, which tells a story set in a parallel universe set within the multiverse of DC Comics wherein Superman becomes evil after Joker tricks him into detonating a nuclear bomb that kills millions, including the love of his life, Lois Lane. This prompts Batman to form...

Nikolai Baslajik, better known as the artist BossLogic, has dropped a new piece of art on Twitter that teases an upcoming Injustice 3 announcement at the DC FanDome digital event later this month. You can check out the promo image above.
The artist is known for creating promo art for several high-profile games, most recently the key art for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Baslajik may have been hired to do the same for Injustice 3 (stylized “Injustic3” in the promo), although neither the artist nor WB Games have commented on the project. Adding fuel to the speculation fire is the fact that Baslajik tagged NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon on the promo. Injustice: Gods Among Us was a bit of a surprise hit video game – a successful fighting game with an engaging story from the people who gave the world the S-Tier cartoonish gore of the Mortal Kombat franchise. It was then turned into an even bigger surprise: a creatively and financially successful tie-in comic that massively expanded the universe of the game, telling the story of the five years preceding the game and bringing in multiple Lantern corps, magic users, and gods from DC’s mythical universe. DC has decided to follow up on that popularity with another expansion.

Chapter nine of Batman: The Adventures Continue is titled “Red Son Rising, Part 1,” and introduces Red Hood to the world of the cartoon. It’s the start of what DC is calling “the home stretch” of Dini, Burnett, Templeton, colorist Monica Kubina, and letterer Josh Reed’s run, and it looks like, from the preview art, Joker is going to force the issue with the Red Hood, who has been hunting him for a while.

Now that first-round Emmy voting is completed, who will be nominated for the season’s best song? RuPaul? Hailee Steinfeld? Darren Criss? Kristin Chenoweth?
That’s right, all four actors are potential nominees in Emmy’s song competition, officially known as Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics … as are such musical personalities as the Weeknd, Sara Bareilles, Brad Paisley and Nick Jonas — along with about 200 other songwriters.
If you’re an Emmy voter in the music branch, how do you decide what song to vote for? Do you pick something you already know and like, or do you investigate some, or all, of the many tunes entered?
There are seven music categories, which encompass more than 300 separate programs, a daunting task for even the most diligent voter. The vast number of shows entered is overwhelming, and no one — especially working professionals, which constitute the bulk of the estimated 600 composers, songwriters and...

Injustice: Gods Among Us, the first game in NetherRealm Studios’ superhero fighting series, is now free to own and play for all Xbox owners, it would seem. As spotted by Wario64 over on Twitter earlier today, the deal requires no previous membership or subscription, so even those who aren’t currently an Xbox Gold member can take full advantage of this particular promotion.
While it was originally released for the 360 back in 2013, the availability of backwards compatibility on Xbox One means the title can be played on either console and the good news doesn’t end there, either. All Dlc, including various additional costumes for the likes of Green Lantern, Cyborg and Bane, are all able to be picked up for the low, low price of absolutely nothing. So, what are you waiting for? Get downloading now!

This Harley Quinn review contains spoilers.
Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 7
And it was all going so well… after Harley and Ivy successfully took out most of the Injustice League, things were looking up for the pair. Ivy is engaged to Kite Man. Harley is finally free from the Joker, or at least we thought she was. After accidentally awakening the Clown Prince of Crime from his acid-induced normalcy, the terrible twosome were caught by Two-Face. And as this new episode starts, we join them in a very questionable courtroom. With Bane presiding, the duo are condemned to life in a very familiar looking prison filled with iconic Batman rogues.
No, we’re not visiting Arkham this time around but instead The Pit, a place made famous by Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. That’s all this episode takes from Nolan, though, as no women die and it’s...

Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti are bringing Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey to DC's Black Label.
There’s something distinctly Looney Tunes about Harley Quinn, probably the combination of self-awareness and ultraviolent slapstick comedy. So when you ask Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti about the magnificent, luridly poetic profanity in Harley Quinn & The Birds of Prey, their new Black Label collaboration on the character they steered for the better part of a decade, it’s hard not to hear Conner’s slow laugh as the glee of a cartoon artist’s paintbrush, getting ready to draw an anvil over Wile E. Coyote’s head. “That’s all Amanda, by the way,” says Palmiotti. “She’s the one [who makes] the sailors come running out of the bar, you know?”

We all know Harley Quinn is crazy – literally – for the Joker, but over the years the anti-heroine has come to be depicted as bisexual, too. Most famously, her friendship with Poison Ivy – which goes back to her origins on Batman: The Animated Series – has evolved into a romance over time. In the Injustice comics, the pair are even married. Though we’ve yet to see Pamela Isley in the Dceu, Birds of Prey confirms that, like her comic book counterpart, Margot Robbie’s Harley is also bi.
You might have not caught this revelation, though, as it’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it sort of deal. The movie opens with a quirky animated sequence in which Harley recounts her life up to the events of the film. Essentially, she’s never been lucky. Her father was neglectful, she was sent to a catholic school run by brutal nuns and she’s had a string of unsuccessful relationships.

While general sentiment among the Mortal Kombat 11 community couldn’t be more positive in light of last week’s gameplay video, Joker’s original reveal wasn’t exactly welcomed with open arms. The iconic villain, who NetherRealm has more than its fair share of experience with thanks to the Injustice series, was considered the weakest of three guest fighters confirmed for Mk 11‘s Kombat Pass Dlc, not least for his controversial design.
Ridiculed for looking more like a budget cosplay costume than Batman’s actual nemesis, the character has since undergone a drastic redesign and, truly, looks all the better for it. First unveiled at last year’s Game Awards via a short teaser, disappointment has slowly U-turned into full-blown hype among fans, who now can’t wait to get their hands on Gotham City’s most notorious villain at the end of January.

The Clown Prince of Crime is on his way to Outworld in Mortal Kombat 11.
NetherRealm Studios’ Injustice: Gods Among Us was born out of the idea of the Joker dying a gruesome death. What better brand synergy than tossing him into the Mortal Kombat universe? ReviewThere are two storylines in the plot – one about the bomb that can explode any minute, and the other a love story.Sowmya RajendranIrandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu begins by telling us that there are several bombs dumped in the sea that may reach our shores anytime. Yet, the title of Athiyan Athirai’s film (produced by Pa Ranjith’s Neelam) translates to ‘The last bomb of the Second World War’ – as if there’s only that one unexploded bomb left for us to find. It appears to be a contradiction but if you think about it, the title makes complete sense. The remnants of war are still within us, all around us, and any of these could be the last bomb that you witness, before it shatters your world. Attakathi Dinesh plays Selvam, a lorry driver who works for a scrapyard owned by an abusive boss (Marimuthu). It’s normal...

While Marvel’s comic book adaptations are a hot commodity just now, the cast of Marvel/Disney’s Avengers franchise are running out of movies on their contracts and have dropped hints that they are not going to play their respective hero characters beyond their current commitments. Will Marvel and Disney let the franchises die after the cast leaves or will a new cast take over?
Movie studios don’t like to let go of a good thing. They like to find ways to keep a lucrative franchise going, even without the original cast. For instance, when the younger cast of X-Men: First Class replaced the stars of the original trilogy; or when the Star Trek: Next Generation cast took over the Star Trek franchise from the classic Trek crew. Virtuoso devisers of works of science fiction envision a reality that is both fantastical and palpable. They mold metaphoric manifestations of the coming times that are inevitable considering the current carryings-on of their fellow man.
Nowadays, none of these visions are utopian. Dystopian nightmares are plaguing our literary works and cinemas, reflecting the inoperativeness besetting our governmental institutions, the greed swathing our unassailable international corporations, and the zealous indifference of our neighbors.
But has it ever been any different? Metropolis (1926), The Time Machine (1960), A Clockwork Orange (1971), Soylent Green (1973), Blade Runner (1982) and Dark City (1998) all were forerunners of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and even the Transformer series.
Now the Korean auteur Bong Joon Ho, who's never perused humanity through rose-colored glasses (e.g. The Host (2006); Mother (2009)), has adapted the French graphic novel, Le Transperceneige, and the result is gleefully entertaining and conceptually refreshing.
In the year 2014, the world's leaders, to combat...
