Good, It Gets the Job Done, Slightly Flawed
ahmadz83918 November 2022
Despite the hour-long runtime, I felt like the story could have progressed more; in fact, the last three episodes have all fallen short in this regard. Just two episodes remain in the season, and it seems like they are trying to cram too much into them in order to preserve as much of the story as possible for the second season. Many aspects, such as what the Neoprims actually are, remain unexplained. We haven't spent enough time with Zubov to have a good sense of what exactly his deal is. While a good mystery is always appreciated, it's crucial to provide viewers with a deeper understanding of the established characters of people and key concepts. The introduction of Lowbeer was unquestionably the best part of the episode. Hopefully, things will get much more interesting from here on out.

Well, at least we got more Ned Dennehy
markwha21 November 2022
So unfortunately last weeks episodes momentum did not carry through and once again we had to fight through another hour+ of long and repetitious dialogue, tedious bantering between characters and plenty of smug and pretentious facial expressions. There were a couple of interesting scenes and an introduction of a mildly interesting and well acted character but the story only progressed inches when we needed miles.

The acting overall was pretty good in this episode, more so than in others I thought but a big issue is that it's all getting overdone, worn out and boring. All this tediousness is in turn pushing viewers away rather than draw them in - which is ironic because it seems like they're trying to set up for some kind of an epic story. If it ever gets there, there may not be anyone left watching to care as I'm sure viewers are dropping off as fast as the progressive episodes ratings are. Too bad too, since the visuals are still nice.

Once again, bonus points for Ned, but he could only get my score as high as 6/10 on this one.

Episode 6

Warning: Spoilers
Not sure why they need to be annoying and title an episode this, just to try and come off as edgy.

There's a lot to like about this show so far, but there's also a lot that is left to be desired. The Ainsley character is just an odd choice, odd choice from the person chosen to play the role, and also where they're going with the direction.

I miss sci-fi shows like this that we used to get a healthy dose of on television, but at least we can thank Amazon Prime for doing its part in keeping the genre alive. The fact that there's only a few episodes left this season is good too so as to avoid the filler.

Sagging and slowly decaying
Waldorf-197918 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What started as a promising series is reaching boring new lows. Things have to be explained to you. "You are bad but inside you are good so you like me because I'm good but inside I'm bad" and other terrible character exposition.

In this episode, the revelations are useless. Most of what's seen in the future is a digital mirage. The police gets involved with a rather boring inspector plot line. A Klept oligarch is scared of the inspector and has to explain why. Nothing happens in the end.

The killer plot line from the last episode was promising but got into ridiculous Terminator-inspired stupidity. Reminds me of the terrible Waif character in Game of Thrones. They are too obviously building him up to be a tough antagonist or wild card.

More flashback without adding anything to the story. More explanations of the same things.

Useless scenes adding nothing like the kitchen meal and the sheriff scenes.

If the next couple of episodes keep going this way I'm not going to waste more time for a comeback.

Watch 'the divine" Ms. Alexandra Billings!
Erin5026620 May 2023
This might be my favorite episode, mostly courtesy of Ms. Alexandra Billings, a fellow Illini, and who has given us one of the most spectacular performances thus far in the series. Playing a Met inspector, with an above average posh London accent, something most Americans can't quite pull off, she plays an almost Holmesian character so well it just made the whole episode for me. This episode was also quite canny in revealing other aspects that give the plot of the series a more realistic and transparent feel. Perhaps a bit too much Southern America cliche but very entertaining nonetheless. I am really enjoying the series so much I cannot wait to read the book! Thank you Amazon for giving me another (unknown to me previously) author for my collection.

This is becoming hard to watch
silverton-3795912 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The bald villainess is hard enough to look at, but this new addition, the inspector, is hideous. There are, so far, a good number of attractive people in the cast, whose roles are much easier to take simply because they are even-featured attractive people. Cherise Nuland , besides being an evil character is as ugly as the hind end of bad luck. The evil nature of the character is hard to take, but her appearance added to the mix makes her such a turn off that I need to jump past her scenes. T'Nia Miller herself isn't an ugly person and neither is Alexandra Billings, who plays Inspector Lowbeer, so it's apparent that the two women are being made to look hideous with makeup effects.

Those two characters are ruining the series for me. I think I'm missing parts of the story by jumping past their scenes but if I didn't, I would have to give up on the series.
