great potential lost...

The movie meant well, in the sense that it highlighted important lessons of society but the downfall came with the execution, in terms of acting, photography, storytelling, etc...😞

Watching Hide N Seek was like watching 'Sanitation Day' by Seyi Babatope: there were many characters gathered in one location, there was chaos, and everyone looked guilty. Plus those two movies had the same theme centered around politicians embezzling money

DELICIOUS

-There was a smart play on words in this film which made you think! E.g. 'Hotel 1914 & Ted Lugard', in reference to the year 1914 when Frederick Lugard proclaimed the merging of Northern and Southern Nigeria

-The scenario divided into chapter sections provided crucial life lessons and the movie succeeded in showing that we're all corrupted, not just the politicians

BLAND

-Even though the film was intended to be a thriller, it wasn't produced as such.

The dialogues were plain, not exciting or informative. The photography was also plain, there were no teasing camera angles and the lighting wasn't controlled to usher in a suspenseful atmosphere.

The scenes weren't directed to trigger our curiosity, we just watched without being immersed in the story

Moreover, acting wasn't intriguing, e.g. Sani Mu'azu was just reciting one word at a time

All these factors crushed the tense mood that was extremely needed to make the screenplay believable...
