NBC is developing a new supernatural series called The Possession of Maggie Gill, not to be confused with other "possession" fare like The Possession of David O'Reilly and, recently, The Possession of Michael King.
THR says this one comes from Amblin Television and, at the time of this writing, the network has only committed to a script so far. So this may or may not go to series. John Glenn is writing.

Directors: Andrew Cull and Steve Isles.
Writer: Andrew Cull.
Cast: Giles Alderson, Francesca Fowler and Paul McGuinness.
Very rarely will audiences find a protagonist who will know how to prevent a dark force from entering a house. Equally impossible is finding a variation of the possession theme that does not get explored. The Possession of David O'Reilly is a movie that thankfully gets a male character possessed rather than the traditional female.
Quite often, the gentler sex is perceived as the weaker soul that can succumb to the whims of the Devil. French Historian Michel de Certeau and anthropologist I.M. Lewis suggest possession happens because women were quite often denied a representation and a public voice during the Late Middle Ages.
But the Devil is an equal opportunist when it comes to other cases, especially those reported ones dating from the 20th century on, like Robbie Doe's, the boy who inspired Blatty's novel,...

It’s been announced that Edward Furlong and Corey Feldman to star alongside each other in British horror film The Zombie King. Furlong will be taking on the role of Samuel Peters (The Zombie King) and Feldman will be taking the role of Kalfu the God of Malevolence. These characters have an interesting twist to a zombie film. A film with a blend of comedy, action, nails biting tension, which will appeal to horror fans and zombie lovers alike….
Samuel Peters (Furlong) once an ordinary man, dabbles within the laws of voodoo to bring his wife back from the grave, he soon encounters the God of malevolence ‘Kalfu’ (Feldman), where he makes a pact with him to destroy the underworld and bring chaos to earth; in return he will become ‘The Zombie King’ and walk the earth for eternity with his belated wife. Seven days before the rise of the Dark Moon,...

The Possession of David O'Reilly is last year's supernatural UK import from directors Andrew Cull and Steve Isles. It's not likely to please every horror fan out there, but it's the kind of horror film that I personally enjoy discovering. A film that's very low budget, but not afraid to take chances. It's not perfect, but it's scary.
With solid acting, a few bare bones, but effective camera tricks, and some special effects make-up; this supernatural thriller is not afraid to be subtle. Nor is it afraid to be straight-forward. It seems to drag in a couple parts, but that even worked well for me and made the scary scenes that much scarier. In a constant state of unease you never know if the next scare is going to creep up on you or jump in your face. Kind of like feeling the hairs stand up...

With horror films it's often a real challenge to separate the good from the bad. Whether a film is terrifying, gripping or tense depends on tiny little details with a large hit or miss ratio. It makes a film like The Torment a bit hard to recommend, but hardened genre fans should take notice. Co-directors Andrew Cull and Steve Isle are talents to look out for, turning what should by all means be a simple horror flick into a devilish little mind trip.
People seem to love to compare this film to Paranormal Activities. Whether this is fueled by the production company to boost sales or born from the audience itself is a little unclear, but the comparison is utter crap. The Torment feels more like a mix between Pop Skull and Ils, combining the home invasion theme of Ils with the trip-like paranoia of Pop Skull. While there are...

Now this is the kind O'Reilly factor we can behind! A tale of demonic possession, strange goings-on, and human beings being tortured to the brink of insanity by forces we don't fully understand. All right, so it does still sound a bit like having to sit through the popular Fox News show, but I digress!
The first trailer for Andrew Cull's UK spooker based upon actual events, The Possession of David O'Reilly, starring Giles Anderson, Francesca Fowler, Nicholas Shaw, and Zoe Richards appeared on the Epic Pictures Group website; and we have a look at it for you below.
Filmed around the same time as Paranormal Activity, The Possession of David O'Reilly is "a terrifying supernatural shockumentary about a demonic presence in a young couple's home in London."
Look for more soon, and in the meantime dig on the trailer!
