“Downsizing” is coming off the one-two-three punch of Venice, Telluride, and Tiff, but the divisive reaction from critics is probably not what Paramount was expecting for such a highly-anticipated collaboration between Oscar nominees Alexander Payne and Matt Damon. Regardless, a new effort from Payne should be a must-see for any film lover, and the director is following is relatively low key “Nebraska” with a big-thinking science-fiction satire.

“Downsizing” is set in a world in which Norwegian scientists have discovered how to shrunk humans down to 5 inches tall, which becomes a possible solution to overpopulation. Realizing how much further money goes when living a smaller life, Damon’s Paul Safranek decides to undergo the procedure. But his decision sparks unforeseen adventures, especially after his wife, Audrey, changes her mind at the last second and doesn’t shrink.

Saturday Night Live might be done for the season, but that isn't keeping Alec Baldwin from hilariously mocking President Donald Trump.
To promote his upcoming SpikeTV special, One Night Only: Alec Baldwin, the star shared a special message in honor of Independence Day, busting out a different (but familiar) presidential impression of George Washington.
Watch: Alec Baldwin Plays 'Saturday Night Live's Best Donald Trump Yet
Rocking a white wig and a frock coat, Baldwin infuses his impression of the first president with all of his biting Trump mannerisms and speech patterns, portraying a Washington who calls himself "the guy who made America great again the first time."
The founding father takes the credit for giving Americans their "amazing freedoms" and "creating all this tremendous democracy."
"I grabbed so much freedom from those British losers," Baldwin's WashingTrump quips. "When you're the president, they let you do it."

Alec Baldwin’s headed to Harlem, and Robert De Niro refuses to miss the fun.
On June 25, Baldwin will be the man of the hour at One Night Only: Alec Baldwin — an evening expected to be full of laughter where he will be joined by his friends and luminaries from the film, television and comedy worlds.
But of all his friends, one stands out among the rest. Fellow actor, De Niro, 73, will attend the event — held at Harlem’s World Famous Apollo Theatre in New York City — and introduce the 59-year old’s dramatic work as a memorable moment within the comedy tribute,...

Today’s film is the 2009 short One Night Only. The film is written and directed by Chadd Harbold, and stars Brian Petsos, Amy Seimetz, Garret Dillahunt, and Kristen Wiig. Wiig rose to prominence as a castmember of Saturday Night Live, which she joined in 2005 and stayed on until 2012, and following supporting performances in Adventureland and MacGruber, found big screen success in a leading role in 2011 with the hit comedy Bridesmaids. She can currently be heard in theatres as a member of the voice cast of Despicable Me 2, and her newest feature, Girl Most Likely, opened in wide release in American theatres this weekend.

Although he's currently starring on a weekly television series, Garret Dillahunt doesn't like repeating himself -- he strives to, with every project, bring to life a character he's yet to play. Something that will become very evident over the next few months as a trio of striking new films hit screens, each boasting a new incarnation of the actor.
The Tribeca Film Festival plays host to two -- Any Day Now and Revenge For Jolly -- while September brings about his bad guy role in the time-twisting Looper, from director Rian Johnson. I caught up with Garret to talk about all three as well as find out what he's hoping to see next season on Raising Hope.
Insider.com: Congrats on another amazing season of Raising Hope. Especially that finale.
Garret Dillahunt: I loved Virginia's beauty pageant freeze on the stand and also seeing Lucy chase Sabrina with the knife. But then again...

HollywoodNews.com: In a few weeks time, The Worldwide Short Film Festival will be screening “The Summer House”, a short film in which Robert Pattinson plays. The short film is an adaptation of a coming-of-age story in which a teenage girl (Jane) summering at an aunt’s chateau in rural France discovers the complexity of romantic relationships—both those of certain family members, as well as her own.
The film was shot in 2008, just prior to the release of “Twilight”, the final buffer between Rob and international mega-stardom. In “The Summer House”, Rob plays the role of 18-year-old Richard, the love interest of Jane. Having broken up with her to date another woman prior to her departure for the summer, once dumped by the other, he appears unexpectedly at Jane’s retreat to win her back. Through a series of benign advances (e.g., love letters) and other more forceful attempts,...
