There And Back Again
boblipton19 April 2021
Pat O'Brien walks out on moll Mary Doran and the underworld for a lady and a job as a clerk, but Miss Doran wants him and calls the cops on him so he has to finish his sentence.

It's set-up, ending and nothing else in four short scenes that don't really show anything. This was the fourth of four short subjects for Vitaphone that O'Brien did, and was released almost simultaneously with his first feature, shot in Astoria. He was therefore a working Broadway actor, and this was basically a screen test for Warner Brothers. He's pretty good in it.

Good but too short!

Warning: Spoilers
Mary Doran at her best, she would cut a man's heart out for a dime! The loving wife is great too, cannot find out who she was. Fun joke at the end, fresh out of prison, Pat wants wife to walk with him south from Ossining to Manhattan, only about 30 miles and her in her Minnie Mouse shoes!
