Mohanagar is one of the best things happened to the Bengali ott world. The young filmmaker Ashfaque Nipun has again mesmerized everyone with his storytelling just like his previous works and Mosharraf Karim just proved that there is still a lot more to explore in him outside of his popular comedy gags. Kudos to team Mohanagar and Hoichoi. Eagerly waiting for season 2.

A welcome entry into the online crime thriller genre for a Bangladeshi webseries, Mahanagar (Season 1) serves fresh breath to Bengali viewers around the globe.
The plot was intriguing and suspenseful. Mosharraf Karim and Mostafizur Noor Imran were superb. Zakia Bari Mamo was overdramatic at times. There were however a few plot holes and technical issues, e.g. The onscreen display of "Smoking kills" against the backdrop of frequent smoking acts was counter-intuitive. Loved the sublime background tune but struggled with the volume control.
Can't wait for Season 2. Until then, you all can enjoy Season 1. I give it a score of 8/10.

I know its only June, but this has to be one of best shows from Bangladesh in 2021. Hats off to the creator Ashfaque Nipun. Top work from the Mosharrof Karim, one of his very best works. This show is a perfect blend of crime, drama, suspense and thriller. Top notch acting from everyone that has to be said, great casting, perfect direction and background score. Initial pace was a bit slow but when it picked the pace then it was simply too good.
Keep up the good work and a very big thumb up for the team!

I'm a bit puzzled to know that our Bangladeshi Ashfaque Nipun has made it. Just watched it in one sitting. If I'm to evaluate this awesome web series I have to say that firstly it took my full attention all the time. It was full of suspense what I personally like to have. Needless to say that the picture quality, editing, screenplay, and especially the BGM were top notch. All most perfect characters for every role. Last but not the least, the perfect ending of Season-01. It tells me to wait eagerly for the next season.
It is obviously true that "Mohanagar" has revealed things that go on around Dhaka City. You can easily assume what is going on there. But you have to remember two things. One is "the truth can never be suppressed". Number two is "you will face the consequence for what you have done".
Now, I believe that we have some meritorious persons who can change the film industry for the betterment.

I've watched the family man(both seasons), special ops, Bard of blood, Code M, Sacred games and many other shows like that but never got a twist at the ending of the show. This is why I'm telling you it is not gonna be waste your time.

On the basis of Bangladeshi plot, this series is a masterpiece. It has forshadowed some recent real incidents of Bangladesh as well. The story line and suspense was top notch, will keep your attention tight until the last. Music was also fabulous like other recent famous indian or english web serieses. And one thing which should be mentioned separately, the legendary actor of Bangladesh, the one and only Mosharrof Karim just nailed it again like a massterpiece. What a performance he has delivered! Just treat to eyes! This package leads to an examplanary idol towards Bangladeshi web series. Very much eagerly waiting for the next season. You can put it to your must watch list.

This is one of the best bangladeshi web series have I watched at recent times. I have enjoyed a lot. Such a profound character development and nice color grading. The vision of the director Ashfaque Nipun is praiseworthy. He is one of the graduates from Chabial and he is doing extremely amazing throughout the journey.
The screenplay was okay and each of the casting and their delivery of dialogue was awesome. Mr. Mosharraf Karim was amazing throughout the series.
This series has opened the door in our OTT arena for the newcomers. Those who are intentionally making third class content just for cheap publicity, please watch this show and create something better than it to move on our OTT in near future.

I don't watch so many movie series (Bangladeshi). Because the quality of the country's movie series is lower than in some other countries. But the good news is that in the last few years, some good quality movie series have been released on various platforms, *Mahanagar* being one of them.
Now coming to the direction, everything is arranged beautifully. Especially the acting level was good. Because of this, it is better to see. The cinematography was good enough. Well, there are some mistakes they should fix though. Whatever, I feel good watching the movie.
Season two is very thrilling compared to season 1. But you have to watch season 1 first there is a connection between both seasons.

Mohanagar, unlike most crime thrillers, isn't about catching the criminal. It's about solving the crime, but not how we conventionally see in such films; it's about how twisted the protagonist, the office-in-charge Harun (Mosharraf Karim) is. The web series revolves around a high-profile hit-and-run case involving the son of a big politician (Shamol Mawla), and it appears that Harun is helping the rich and the powerful. These kind of screenplays are often worked backwards from the end-the trick is make the deceit as invisible as possible.
Illogical Ending Surpasses the Setup

The Season 2 series can keep viewers' attention. There were some real-life inspirations based on the current political environment of Bangladesh. It was good too. Mosharraf Karim's acting was decent enough, even though I think he acted better in the first season. I liked the character of Sukumar Barua most, brilliantly played by Brindabon Das.
But the whole story becomes illogical and unrealistic at the end. The ending was completely messed up. Here are the reasons:
1. In the final episode, the secret intelligence officer Babar asked OC Harun about the whereabouts of innocent Masum. Why did the agency need Harun to find that innocent Masum? They are a secret agency with high power, modern technology, and equipment. They can easily find that Masum. Remember, Masum is an inncoent guy. He must have gone to his mother and sister and must have tried to live a normal life. It should be easy to find him.
2. Just assume that OC Harun kept the innocent Masum in a safe place until he arrests the real Masum. Is it possible to keep him in a safe place for two years? Sounds realistic?
3. Ok, let us assume that OC Harun kept him in a safe place for two years or Masum went to Bayazid Bostami's Dargah. During these 2 years, he must have had a phone call with his sister/mother. The secret agency can trap the phone call of his mother and sister and easily find the location of Masum. Remember we were shown earlier in the series that the secret agency trapped a phone call of a ministar to a film actress.
4. Such a high-profile case can not be on hold for two years without arresting the main/fake culprit. Government should present some kind of culptit to the Media because of pressure.
5. The secret agency's high profile experienced officer Babar allowed Harun to roam around and Harun somehow managed to have mutiple phone calls with City Mayor, Sukumar Barua and others. An experienced officer will not do that, he must know that OC Harun also has some top level connection. Becoming an OC of Dhaka is not an easy job. It needs money and connectons both. In real world, Babar will keep OC Harun under 24 hours survellience.

Gritty , gripping and fascinating story telling. Brilliant acting by Mosharraf Karim who is one of the best actors of Indian subcontinent and probably the best in Bengali Language.
Director builds up a wonderful plot and leaves everyone guessing what will happen in season 2.
It's a bold creation depicting corruption deep inside the society anf how people become a prey of it.

This type of work is really appreciable. These type of thrillers can inspire others creating them. The response that it got was amazing. Nice Casting, Screenplay and Acting. Over all a complete package.

I am not big fan of bangla drama. But i can assure you that i've never ever watched something like Mohanagar, just mind-blowing. Really it's wroth my time.

Ashfaque Nipun's "Mahanagar" functions well enough to a certain extent because of two primary reasons; one is the indisputable set of performances (Especially, by Mosharraf Karim) which help the audience to stay occupied with the ongoing events and the other one is the all-important dialogues, that are astutely penned, carry weight and have different ideals to attain. Sad to say, that's about it, this has got nothing else to offer.
Now, what are my views on it? Well, contrary to popular belief; I found it reasonable, good as a pastime, nothing more nothing less. And what might be the justification for my displeasure here? Let's just say, I had serious reservations about its pace or to be more specific, stagnant screenplay. From time to time, it felt like the narrative getting stuck, unable to make any headway.
To make things a little more interesting, they did try to bring up a handful of twists & turns in the climactic parts. But in my humble opinion, it was nothing but a last-ditch attempt to save the ship from sinking and salvage what is left. But it was too little too late, the damage has already been done by then.

In Bangladeshi context, it is one of the best series. Acting and story writing is awesome. Final twist is the best. So, i personally want this type of master piece work again and again. Eagerly waiting for the next season.

I give it 11 out of 10 . It is a great series. Full of excitement and intelligence. It reflects the real and pathetic situation inside the police department or jail. Often innocent people are brutally punished and criminals gets rescued.
This series also teaches us with good lessons with analytical mind.
It also reflects the political connection to the police department. If a person wants to survive in our police department being honest, s/he must be as intelligent as OC Harun. Every police should learn something from this series. Our police should survive with honesty and patriotism.
It's a must watch for everyone.

Beautiful story line except rush end

I think this is one of the most beautiful web series ever made by Bangladeshi director. Everything every storyline was perfectly amazingly directed and acted By our own actor and director also the actresses was beautiful and the acted so natural Which is Rarely seen in Bangladeshi movie and dramas. The only mistake or flaw I found in this series was Last 15 minutes this director wanted to say something which is very rashly he explained, also it was not understandable to everyone. It was definitely convincing but I think they shouldn't finished There climax with rush. If it was another 15 minutes extra and explain properly the I think it would be 10/10, but still I enjoy every single moment and every single character acting very convincing. Thank you so much to entertain us with this wonderful show. Hope from the next season all the questions in my mind will have proper answer. Thank you.
