If this wasn't such a Christian-based film I'd say it illustrates Karma, but in this context Karma is definitely a universal concept.
I admittedly went to see this movie on the big screen because I was a background extra (I'm in there at least a half dozen times in different scenes).
Working on a film as an extra one is only presented with snapshots of scenes, a bit like hearing one side of a conversation. Plus you never know which scene will make it into the finished product. So I went into this film with a clean slate, with only a vague notion of what it was about.
I was quite pleasantly surprised. The acting is good and the story is good. It's not going to blow you away, but you'll find yourself entertained. Oh, and you'll feel a bit better about the world when you come away from it. It's because you experience life with "Devin" as he progresses from a precipitous fall from grace to a renewed faith in himself and his ability to have a positive impact on the lives of others. It starts as a reluctant transformation to be sure, but he eventually gets it. If you get a chance to see this little gem, give it a try, you'll thank me later.
