MRS UNDERCOVER-wayward yet effective.

Mrs. Undercover is an action comedy film directed by anushree mehta.

This film gets so much right yet doesn't hit the home run. The writing assures on the nuances that the female spy is out of practice but undoes it by making her chase the same man so amateurishly that its comical. The climax is way too weird. Radhika apte gets her acting and comedy spot on. But the other characters are reduced to feminism mouthpieces and caricatures. There are sequences designed to lecture viewers that 'housewives are not housewives' insted of visually stamping it. It too on the nose. The songs are average too. Saheb chattopadhyay, sumeet vyas and rajesh sharma somewhat act authentic but their characters are too undercooked.

This film could have been so much more.

Hollywood/Bollywood/other industries sometimes make these films in which, the comedy is over-the-top, the action is over-the-top and you'll either walk out of the hall satisfied because there was more of what you wanted or leave thinking that the movie was neither here nor there.

For me, Mrs Undercover was in the latter category (you might feel differently) Radhika Apte is a GOOD actor and I thought I'd watch it for her. She did what she could to try and save this poorly written story but.....that sadly wasn't enough. It felt like she was bored and wanted to do something for fun so she said yes whatever random story made its way to her table first.

Other than the over-the-top action and comedy, (for me) there was too much of a commercial angle to it (think of the heroism and poses in a Salman Khan film) and the message got a little too cheesy in the climax.

For films like these, the audience is generally expected to switch their minds off but if you have an important message to share, how do you expect to take the message seriously if we can't take the film seriously? If that wasn't why the message was there, why keep have it in the movie to begin with?

This could have been a good action comedy or a serious action movie with a good message with a very different side of Radhika Apte's acting on offer, but...missed opportunity.

Good story but, easy to guess

This movie has a good intention but the way story proceeded wasn't right.

First of all, Durga (wife) shouldn't have got her husband back to house because he had an affair with his neighbour and blames his wife as she was busy, he got into an affair and on top of all this he just thinks that a woman is just a machine to produce babies.

Then during the event/dance the main chief Rangeela didn't want to focus on the mission to save CM instead when Durga calls him, he just says some trash. It felt like he is just a chief guest rather than a person who is under special force in addition a chief.

Experience was ok even so there should have been a bit more plotting as it was very easy to guess the plot since they revealed that Ajay is the serial killer.

A complete timepass movie!

A low budget comedy thriller with a script of a housewife being an undercover. The portrayal of serial killer and raw agent is extremely dumb. But this is fun movie to watch along with family. Very silly but funny. Radhika Apte is a very good actress as always.

Too silly to be taken seriously!!

Mrs Undercover review :

A serial killer is on the prowl... He's a misogynist targetting women without a doubt.

He's simultaneously killing secret agents till there's only one left amongst all.

Fikar not.. This undercover agent, posing as housewife for years, is actually quite a howl!!

Radhika Apte plays that agent who is literally coerced in to action by the agency chief (Rajesh Sharma) called Rangeela!! The manner in which they go about their duty should make RAW seek legal action from the filmmakers for such a dumb portrayal of the intelligence agency!!

More absurdity- the killer or terrorist, if you can call him that, is a part of an international organisation who wish to eliminate feminism from the face of planet earth. What!!! He is named 'Common Man' probably to highlight how the 'aam aadmi' male of this country is anti woman empowerment. Stupid analogy, indeed!!

Actually, Mrs. Undercover is too silly to be taken seriously though it aims to be exactly opposite. The climactic encounter of the main culprit had me in splits where the State Chief Minister orders the cops to step away so Radhika and a dozen civilian women dressed as Durga Maa, can get in to action mode. Haha!

The only scene which truly impressed me was the restaurant one where Rajesh Sharma disguised as a waiter, imparts a lesson or two to Radhika Apte's patriarchal husband on 'asli' women empowerment and how important a homemaker really is in any family.. that is a 'taalimaar' moment. Rest of Mrs. Undercover isn't!!

Twists & Tales : Family Delight

Kolkata setups and Radhika on screen. I recall some movies of Rani M and vidya B. If someone watch all 3 as Trilogy This movie comes close to Family Show.

Radhika makes it a point to have all normal actors and surly a running script. End is slow and boring when they caught the culprit. Very low action from kid as that cud added a zing in watching

Overall a good entertainer with Radhika as a Queen again.

U can watch as suspense As comedy As thriller As local Batwoman

But it's a watch without headache and direction is good. Low budget makes some less crowd and sets but overall everything is perfect to watch and enjoy.

Total waste of time.

This movie is annoyingly stupid. Nothing is solid. Weak story, weak dialogues, weak actions. No humour, no drama. No suspense. Not a single justification of its existence! Amature writing and direction.

OTT platforms giving to good projects, stories to reach larger audience and vice versa but this movie is example of Waste of so many Talented actors. Im sure they have approached many platforms and got rejected and end up releasing it on zee5.

Thank god I watched it alone or else I would have looked more stupid in front of my friends and family. Last such stupid movie I saw was, ' Shaka Laka Boom Boom'

Fun Film

You don't expect Radhika Apte in such fun filled film. But believe me she is looking good in it. Although the concept seems childish yet the story and performances make it believable.

Apart from the fun angle the movie also give a message of women empowerment nicely through the film's narration.

You will be surprise to see Sumit Vyas's character. He has performed it perfectly. Rajesh Sharma as Radhika Apte's boss is also entertaining.

With OTT platforms it has become easy to experiment not only with subjects but also with the actors and their potentials. Zee 5 is doing it greatly with many actors and subjects.

Weak Attempt for a Kahani Do Over

Mrs. Undercover is a Bollywood Masala Potboiler with a strong female lead (Radhika Apte), set against the backdrop of Kolkata. The film features a relatively unknown cast of Tollywood actors, who deliver solid performances throughout.

Radhika delivers a powerful and compelling performance, perfectly capturing the transformation of a timid housewife to a badass undercover agent. The plot however seems a little too childish at times and editing also could have been better.

The depiction of Kolkata adds an authentic and immersive feel to the film, making it a must-watch for fans of the city.

However, similar to Tooth Pari, the pacing of Mrs. Undercover is flawed, with certain scenes feeling rushed while others are drawn out. Despite this, the film is an entertaining and engaging watch, featuring a strong female protagonist and enough thrills to satisfy fans of the genre.

Childish, take it lightly

Was expecting something serious, some action thriller, but few minutes into the movie, realized it will be the more of comedy then anything else.

Radhika Apte, is a fine actress, she has the ability to carry out any kind of role and over here the entire movie on her shoulders. Though the action director of the movie is too silly, therefore some bad action scenes, or perhaps the producers was being too cheap for any serious expenses.

Rajesh Sharma, an old actor and played the usual good. Rest of the cast, Sumeet Vyas etc heartless time pass acting.

Do a favour to me and go and watch this movie..In my opinion, the best film ever made in India. Top Drama with a romantic undertone The storyline was excellent. Anupam kher, who plays the lead, is the film's shining star. Absolutely fantastic. If I keep watching it, I will be giggling out loud. A powerful film with important lessons for the world at large. Watching this film from start to finish is like going on an adventure with the main characters. At the same time as it promotes playfulness and levity, it helps the mind to wander. Movie is overall great but just hate one thing writers and directors aren't come from indain old age thoughts and their gods they thought without it we can't make hit movie Just pull it out story was outstanding Mrs. Undercover is a delightful comedy film that is sure to tickle your funny bone. The film's strong point is its witty and engaging screenplay that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Joke Silva, delivers a stellar performance that is both nuanced and hilarious.

The pacing of the film is perfect, and the editing is seamless.

The chemistry between the characters is excellent, and the performances by the cast are top-notch.

The lady director wanted to show A) men in bad light and B) her own feminist side. I bet she must've been a victim of patriarchy in her home or something, which encouraged her to make such a bad film. She doesn't know a D of direction. Many scenes seem like cheap web series footage. Not sure how she got the opportunity to direct a movie for ZEE5 and that too with Radhika?!! The director must be sued for showing the intelligence agency members doing cheap things. The head of agency is named as Rangeela! LOL.

The women empowerment message was conveyed in worst way possible. Laughable climax and dialogues. Wish its the last film of that director. Wasted amazing talent such as Radhika Apte.

Go and watch it

Go watch it and you won't regret it. This masterful storytelling is what's missing from the current generation of films...This dude makes the movie. He is a great actor, this movie gave him a character to work with. This is by far his best performance and worth seeing it just for that. Overall, I can see this movie becoming a sleeper hit over the years if it isn't a blockbuster. It's so good, word of mouth will spread I bet..This film was gripping, saddening, thrilling and everything you could want from a high concept thriller.great. Firstly, all the people review bashing the film without watching it is just childish, get a life.

Absolute crap

The director and scriptwriter should be banned from making movies. This is utter crap. Everything sucks. There's no logic or plausibility in plot. This could have been better suited to being a Bengali serial, because the absence of any plausibility is seen spectacularly in that area.

Added onto this is crappy performance, crappy music and crappy dialogues. The dialogues should get a special mention because of how cringe they are.

No idea why Radhika Apte and Sumit Vyas says yes to this movie. Maybe because the makers are friends. But 'dost dost na raha' in this case.

Avoid seeing this. Or don't, if you're a movie masochist.

Not a had turner

Just okay nothing new Radhika Apte was good tried had her best to engage the audience but the villain Sumit Vyas failed to do so and seems boring or villains too. Rajesh Sharma was good at his part putting all his effort trying making it look funny or ineffaceable Movie just revolves around a house wife being a secret agent hunting a villain, who basically hates women being empowered and hunts them down but poor writing could have been way better as it is shown.

Keeps you confused most of the time as it never get too funny or too serious it just keeps you in between lost too catch the eyes and starts to seem boring after a certain point.

Overall a onetime watch i would say!

A total disaster

How poor filmmaking can create a disaster despite having a talented cast. Both Radhika Apte and Sumit Vyas will give you promise in the beginning which ends up in disappointment. The entire movie is an example of a confused filmmaker who doesn't know whether to make a comedy film or a serious crime thriller. Yes, the movie is regarding women empowerment which is a welcome deed however poorly executed story line will leave you asking yourself more questions at the end. The biggest question being your choice of spending 107 minutes watching this debacle. For me it was a disappointment 😞 . Watch it as your own risk.

Good movie

This is one of those few Bollywood gems that need to be treasured. It provides an excellent refreshing break from the typical Indian movie story line. Just when you think the movie can't get any exciting. It provides the viewers clues to connect the dots, extremely well done and thoroughly engaging. I'm pretty sure If I had seen this at the theater, I wouldn't have seen anyone getup during the movie. Beautifully crafted and well acted by the entire cast and not to mention how impeccable he is!

Unpredictable plots and ending. Very good movies. I watched thousands of movies, only a handful get 10 out of 10. What a movie! One of the best movie I have seen. First of all reviews of this movie must not contain any kind of spoilers, it will just spoil the suspense one must enjoy.

Typical old fashioned movie

The movie is made in old fashioned style with local spy agent. Radhika Apte is main cast of the movie and we expect more better acting from her. However movie is timepass with mixup of family life and undercover agent life. No suspense in movie just straight forward. It will be better to make such movie more critical and may be web series type. The producers has just trial such movie in market to know the response of viewer in future we may get next part of the movie. Movie could explore more cultural or historical mix up of Kolkata and Bengali society. We may expect better from producer of the movie in next time.

Amazing movie

From there the film plays out mostly as we've come to expect structurally. A bit of build up, then more kill scenes, interspersed with some extra character development and making everyone look suspicious, all leading up to the big finale and the big reveal...Especially the market scene was worth watching. Despite the difficulties in serial films, it is a good movie. Especially the movie made without sydney in the lead role is very successful. The story looks like it is building to something great, and i am here for it, if done correctly without sid for the next few movies could be excellent. This film's Final act will leave many fans of the franchise incredibly satisfied especially with the killer reveal which I will not dare spoil here.

Timepass! Entertaining in bits and pieces

This is a simple movie. The movie has a strong message to give, and is entertaining in bits and pieces.

It is a bit childish but still it's nice.

A serial killer is on the loose and Radhika Apte becomes an undercover agent to catch hold of this serial killer.

Radhika Apte and her boss interactions are funny and shouldn't be missed

Sometimes it seems to be too childish, but still it is entertaining.

So can be watched once or twice just for some fun.

Best suggestion would be don't expect too much from this film. Just watch it for fun.

Leave your brains out while watching the movie. Just enjoy !

I request Mrs undercover to be hidden as she did nothing being a cop

Very sorry for Radhika Apte such a renown actress but here she failed completely in look and acting wise..last she was seen in Monica oh my darling where she played a cop marvellously..the makers could not take out the best from her

The content was made in a very boring and dull manner nor it was funny or a hard cop story they messed it by showing as a house wife..so much of wasted and long scenes which makes you feel the makers are just completing what they started anyhow

I think this weekend JUBILEE will win the viewers.

Seriously. What was that?

Theme is good but what about the screenplay, story, direction etc.?

I expect this movie to be something different but it's none other than a rubbish movie. No continuity, no story, senseless comedy, below average acting.

This movie shall be made in series with a different and better (much better) story but with the same theme. And please, change the director. They just wasted Radhika Apte.

I spent my approximately two hours waiting for a twist and some good stuff. Don't wadte your time guys. Better watch something else. Even one star is more than ehat this crap deserves.
