CHARlatanism should not be promoted.
amigodeumamigo14 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The segment of the psychic was so bad... It managed to ruin an otherwise good episode. Utica and Symone did deliver outstanding performances as each other - and great artistry like this kept the episode alive. But the CHARlatan segment was, as usual, a real exploitation of people's grief for profit. During our COVID crisis, this is even more disgusting and disrespectful.

Let's be honest, it was a great episode... until...

... until 58:20... that decision deserves a 1/10. Well, a successful TV show is not linear: it must have love-hate polarization, drama, plot twists, resurrections... Particularly for this episode it is important that you watch "Untucked".

BEST MAKEOVER CHALLENGE
samdoctorwho24 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was so much fun seeing the queens swap their styles and embody each other!! I was cracking up at the scene where they taught each other their walks and I just love how the two teams with the hardest task where the ones that did the best. Y'all downgrading the episode just because Denali was eliminated but I completely agree with the critiques this episode. Symone and Utica did an amazing job. Gottmik and Kandy also did a great job, and Olivia and Denali were BOTH the weakest, and Olivia slayed that lip sync!! Plus, had a much better track record. The outcome was correct.

great episode!!!

I really liked most of the looks and the judging being in pairs was honestly the right thing to do. and if you give the episode a negative rating just because your favorite queen went home, you're literally a child.

Psychic BS, Sashay Away

Having the "psychic" segment open this episode completely ruined it for me. Promoting those grief predators is so gross. The awful fake cold reading tactics are very forward and presented as real. Just yuck.

Great Makeover, heartbroken ending
stumpe-113 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First, please dont vote this episode down, coz your Favorite went home. It was my Favorite, too and I want her so badly in the Top 4. The Looks and brandings were really good. The only disagree I have is, that Olivia did the worst to Denali. Denalis Makeover was great in comparison and she defently won the lipsynch. Thats the Problem, if the Double Safe was wasted on the Kandy and Symone Lipsynch two weeks before. They only should do that, if everyone was doing great and the lisynch is on par. I get why they safe Olivia, but Denali has an amazing Track record, too. She won, beside one not so great week, which she doesnt belonged in the buttom 2 I think, she was safe, top or should had won also. Olivia has 2 wins under her belt, I get it, but her snatch game was a desaster and her makeover to Denali was the worst of the bunch, as all the contestants agree on.

But hopefully she returns to All Stars and slays even harder. She is the full package and spread love to her. She earns it. And dont spread hate to Olivia, Kandy or Tina. Its a Drag Show. Dont take it too serious.

Great episode until elimination.

Warning: Spoilers
I was enjoying this episode 10/10, the queens were having such a good time. The judges were having a blast during the runway and critiques, I was genuinely laughing and enjoying myself. Then came the bottom two and elimination. Firstly, why were they judged as pairs when their makeover was done to one another? Why was Tina's critiques cut out? Was it because her critiques were bad, but they didn't want the audience to know that? Hence allowing her the free pass? The bottom two should have been Tina and Olivia, period. The show really needs to put their favouritism aside and allow the queens to actually compete fairly. Its quite obvious production has already chosen their winner and trying their best to ensure it happens. Denali should not have been in the bottom, much less eliminated. We had that b.s of an elimination last week with Awhora and now this? RuPaul should just end the show since it's this path he and production has taken.

The elimination was deserved
vasilevmario17 August 2022
Just because you stan someone doesn't mean them going home is unfair. Denali did a shot job turning Olivia into her and lost the lip sync... Funny how fans are complaining that "the judges unfairly favour Kandy" and then turn around and want Denali to have been unfairly kept in the competition when she did bad...

Done. The favouritism is obvious.
mikepitcher113 March 2021
Why is this Aja wannabe still there? Honestly, brings nothing. The judges already picked their winner, and they're bending everything to make it happen.

Strong episode but rough judging
jamieaholding15 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It seems like they never announce "you'll be judged as teams/individuals" until the runway. And at this point it leads me to believe that it's because they want a reason to put someone in the bottom.

I really liked the concept of the challenge but if you're assessing it on the following: * Design of look that you give your partner * Make-up that you give your partner * Teaching your partner to give off your energy * Giving off your partners energy

Then Denali did not deserve to be anywhere near the bottom, save that for Kandy, Olivia and Tina. Everyone else did so well, so to have one of the top 5 this week in the bottom and then go home so that some other queens can stay for TV value feels really rough.

Rosé, Denali, Gotmik and Symone were the three that all had the ability to win the whole thing and they've thrown one of them away for what??

I'm glad the UK season was ruthless and had fairer judging, atleast it didn't feel like anyone was being dragged along for TV value.

Terrible Judging
The episodes are always amazing until you get to the god awful judging. It is never consistent and just screws so many queens over.

Impartiality is dead

Not even a modicum of impartiality is left in this overtly politicized agenda race.

Worst season ever
svillaalcala4 May 2021
Denali was not in the bottom.

Kandy is just talentless compared to more than half of the other queens that are already gone.

RuPaul's Squid Game next year please
davewadam198229 September 2021
First off, objectively, if we rate this episode 9, 10 or even 1 or 2, then we're guilty of the same thing we're accusing the judging panel of doing - judging unfairly. The show is still there, with its high production skill, during a pandemic. Gottmik, Rosé, Symone and Olivia are still bringing their freshness and lightness to the season. Some challenges are good. And... it's colourful, yay.

But the problem with this episode, as so many of us have said, is with the judging. Most episodes, it feels trite. The writers write good one-liners to make the panel appear snappier than they are, but the delivery makes it obvious they're reading prepared lines (before the runway and during the runway), especially when they're not on-screen delivering the line it just feels like the jokes were put in during post-production.

All other comments (on all other platforms) have described how 'off' the judging is in S13, so I won't offer anything new there. It does just. Feel. Off.

Side note, I'm trying to work out... does Kandy Muse just have a big tongue or something?

The psychic section was another very 'off' addition to the episode. It didn't accomplish anything or drive the episode forward. However, it did give us the memory of Clara the Cow. Yes and amen to that. Personally I have an issue with using VFX in reality shows (for example season 9 when they had to present fairy tale characters next to floating cartoons - it made me think, 'what are the judges seeing?') The medium (excuse the pun) of reality TV is such that we buy into every moment as 'real', and VFX jolt us out of reality because we know some fancy digital manipulation is going on.)

On a final note, it's not a terrible episode, it's good, in fact, but there are some big stinkers that ruin it.

Hopefully our wish will come true for season 14, and the producers will turn the competition into a Squid Game-like show.

Love the Game, Hate the Player
acrotinger13 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Another strong week for Drag Race! It's a fun take on the makeover challenge with the queens being paired off and tasked to put their partner in their own signature drag.

I totally agree with the winning team, but felt that some of the judging was off. Based on the presented looks and judging by teams, Rosé and Tina should have been the bottom team. Neither look was good and the makeup on both was NOT it.

Either way, I'm saddened with the loss of a contestant that I thought could have gone all the way. The season is FINALLY getting to a point where every elimination will see a strong competitor go home. Except for Tina.

Final note, I think that Mik should have been read for Kandy's look. The makeup and outfit, while quintessential mik, is the worst Kandy has looked so far. "That's just my opinion."
