Sex & Nudity

  • One of the characters say he has a mole on a place, The character says: "She was teasing me for the mole on my..."
  • Some enemies have suggestive designs.

Violence & Gore

  • The game doesn't contain a lot of gore or violent scenes, and the ones that are gory are pretty cartoony/pixelated. These scenes can become a bit more disturbing nearing the end of the game, but none are realistic.
  • In order to escape from White Space, Omori must stab himself in the stomach with a large knife. Happens multiple times throughout the game
  • A character is suddenly struck by a bolt of lightning, electrocuting and killing them instantly.
  • Multiple characters commit suicide throughout the course of the game.
  • A character's eye is gouged out using a gardening tool. The stabbing isn't shown but the character is later seen with an eyepatch.
  • The most bloody scene in the game occurs when a character has a rock thrown at his head, causing some blood, before another rock strikes him and causes him to fall. He is then hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat with nails stuck in it, caving in his head and spraying some pixelated blood.

Profanity

  • Two uses of "prick."
  • Very minimal uses of hell/damn.
  • There is an unimportant NPC that has a small chance of saying "I fucking love air conditioning." It is a bit difficult to determine why they said this, but this is really the only use of strong profanity.
  • One use of the f bomb in the game
  • There is one single use of the F bomb in the game. However, it is said by a completely inconspicuous NPC in an inconspicuous area and this single NPC has a 1 in 13 chance of saying it once and will never repeat it again in the same playthrough. This means the average player is EXTREMELY unlikely to come across it. It was likely put in the game just to get it the M rating it deserves for its dark themes rather than profanity.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In one section of the game, in a casino, there are wine glasses and cigarettes across the floor and tables. The wine glasses are filled with "fruit juice" and if interacted with, they say: "Fruit Juice. It's not for kids."
  • In sweethearts castle there is a mushroom that you can eat and it says it's suspicious. You eat it and get teleported to a small room with another mushroom this suggests you are hallucinating.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game talks about very sensitive topics like suicide, depression, anxiety, death, and grief. A lot of these topics aren't displayed in a way to scare you, but rather to get an insight on how the characters are coping.
  • The game features many jumpscares (mostly involving SOMETHING/"Hellmari"). Most of these are avoidable by straying from certain areas or routes, but some are unavoidable and can be very frightening.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Near endgame, pictures from a photo album reveals that the main protagonist's sister was pushed down some stairs while the main protagonist was arguing with her and the protagonist and his friend tried to cover up the death by hanging her body, making it seem like a suicide. The images aren't graphic, but can be very disturbing.
  • The main character stabs himself in his dreams to wake up in the real world. This happens more than one time. No blood is shown, but the scene can be disturbing for certain audiences.
  • In a zone called "Black Space", one of the characters, Basil, is seen in many parts of this section, but always dies in gruesome ways. These include, decapitation by an elevator door, losing his head in a tunnel mysteriously, getting beaten violently, getting smashed like a watermelon (literally), and getting torn apart by spiders. Only some scenes show blood but they are all very frightening and disturbing. (unless you have NO emotion whatsoever)
  • In Black Space, there is a very stressful scene in which you are locked in a room with a cat on a table. If you interact with the cat, there is an option to cut it open. If you say yes, then the section repeats with different dialogue until you eventually cut it open. There is an option to stab yourself which is the only way to exit the room, which you might've figured out before or after this. Both ways are very disturbing.
  • Multiple endings show the main character or/and one of his friends commiting suicide by stabbing themselves, these are very graphic for the standards of the game.
  • Omori controls the Red Hands to grab Basil and proceeds to stab him with a kitchen knife. The impact of the blade isn't shown but you see Omori twist the blade, killing Basil.
  • A character kills themselves by jumping off of a roof.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This game is known for having very emotional endings, some of which contain suicide.
  • The zone called "Black Space" is the most disturbing part of the game. It contains Flashing lights, jumpscares, a lot of disturbing images and scenarios, gore, and it's the section which gives the game a "Psychological horror" tag on steam.
  • Emotionally intense scenes include characters recalling memories with a long-dead friend and dealing with depression.
  • Many scary scenes for younger audiences make sure your kid has seen some scary films before playing this.
