10. Remember Me (2010)
Robert Pattinson’s Remember Me remains a serious romance drama for the vast majority of its duration. A troubled rich kid falls in love with a NYPD Detective’s daughter; they go through a lot together and admit their feelings to each other… And then, out of absolutely nowhere, he dies in the 9/11 attack. The end. Seriously?
9. Lucy (2014)
Scarlett Johansson's Lucy explores the classic “people are only using 10% of their brains” scenario. Thanks to the experimental drug, a drug mule gains access to many skills and knowledge… Fast-forward: she evaporates, meets the first human, sees the Big Bang, and stores All Knowledge Ever on a bloody Usb, of all things.
8. The Happening (2008)

Allow Robert Pattinson to introduce himself once again. He plays more than a dozen different versions of the same character, Mickey Barnes, in the upcoming science fiction thriller Mickey 17, helmed by the acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho.
Considering Pattinson’s acting credits from his earlier films, this portrayal appears to be difficult to pull off. As if we needed another reason to love Twilight fame, the skilled actor has once again proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the movie business.

‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ opened on top of the mainland China box office in its first official week of release. But its debut was soft and led the market to one of its quietest weekends of the year.
The Universal-DreamWorks Animation picture earned $14.7 million (RMB105 million) between Friday and Sunday, according to data provided by consultancy firm Artisan Gateway. With previews from the previous weekend (when the film placed fourth), the film finished Sunday with $25.9 million (RMB184 million.)
That compares with $57.8 million at the end of a similar weekend and previews for Kung Fu Panda 3, which released in 2016 a week ahead of the Lunar new Year holidays.
Unlike the third iteration of the Chinese-themed American franchise, which was an official U.S.-China coproduction, “Kung Fu Panda 4” is a considered as a foreign picture subject to import quotas and the associated revenue-sharing distribution regime.

The release of the first episode of Life Is Strange in January 2015 was met with astonishing success. After the commercial failure of their action-adventure game Remember Me in 2013, Life Is Strange was Dontnod Entertainment’s calculated efforts to be a recognizable force in the gaming world. Life Is Strange is centered around the rewind mechanic, giving players an immersive experience to rewind and alter time and choices. Released in a time when most adventure games were created with defined story arcs and endings, Life Is Strange quickly stood out for its possible alternate endings based on in-game character choices.

Meghan Markle may pivot to another career path, says a royal commentator. Instead of acting, they believe Meghan may become an “influencer.” However, that could pose a problem as she has a “superiority complex.”

Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday celebration gathered an eclectic group of well-wishers including Neil Young, Snoop Dogg, and The Chicks for the first of two performances at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Saturday. Watch fan-captured footage from the event below.
“Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90, A Star-Studded Concert Celebrating Willie’s 90th Birthday” kicked off with perhaps the roster’s youngest performer, Billy Strings, who played two Shotgun Willie staples, “Whiskey River” and “Stay a Little Longer.” He later returned to back Bob Weir on a rendition of “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” from Nelson’s classic 1975 LP, Red Headed Stranger, which received further looks from the likes of Norah Jones, Beck, and Tyler Childers.

On an overcast night inside the Hollywood Bowl on April 29, the crowd had barely found their seats when Billy Strings and the band launched into “Whiskey River” at 7 p.m. sharp. After all, this was Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday bash — and no one wanted to waste time.

Samuel Jackson and John Travolta are hit men with a penchant for philosophical conversations in Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction,” coming to Plex on April 1. The multilayered crime movie, also starring Uma Thurman as a gangster’s wild wife and Bruce Willis as a down-on-his-luck boxer, is a darkly humorous, ultra-violent, and redemptive classic. The film netted Tarantino an Oscar for best original screenplay.
Watch the trailer for “Pulp Fiction”:
Clive Owen’s career was launched in the British neo-noir “Croupier,” directed by Mike Hodges. Owen plays Jack, a brooding writer who begins working as a croupier in a casino and gets drawn into a dangerous plan to rob it. Co-starring Gina McKee, it also arrives the first of next month.

This article contains spoilers for "65."
The moment "65" was finally unveiled, it aimed to fill a hole Hollywood had long overlooked — movies about dinosaurs without the title "Jurassic" in them. The first trailer was very compelling, needing only the sight of Adam Driver shooting dinosaurs with a space gun to create interest
Now that the whole film is out, it is actually rather good! The film delivers a good blend of bonkers concepts and a heartfelt story of survival. Driver carries the whole film on his back, doing his own "The Last of Us" impression of a man caring for a child in a hostile, desolate wasteland. Likewise, there are enough scenes of Driver fighting dinosaurs to be crowd-pleasing and raucous, but not so many that it becomes a direct-to-video sci-fi action movie.

The 95th Academy Awards are behind us now, and one of the most interesting categories was Best Original Song. Winning an Oscar for an original song is definitely a prestigious honor, but perhaps the second most coveted prize for original movie music is the Grammy. Being voted on by two different academies means there’s bound to be a lot of discrepancies between the awards, especially with different voting deadlines and eligibility rules. With that in mind, what Oscar winning songs have also managed to get at least one Grammy nomination?

This post contains light spoilers for Star Trek: Picard season three.
It’s a good time to be a fan of Dr. Beverly Crusher. After getting relegated to the background of the four movies released after Star Trek: The Next Generation, Starfleet’s best doctor is at the center of the current season of Star Trek: Picard. The story finds Picard and his former Number One William T. Riker coming to rescue Dr. Crusher and her best son Jack, leading to surprising revelations about her relationship with Jean-Luc. We’re only a few episodes into the season so far, but it’s already shaping up to be one of Crusher’s best stories, right up there with “Remember Me” and “The Big Goodbye.”
And it’s from that perspective that Crusher actor Gates McFadden can look back at one of her most infamous episodes. Although people of refined taste see the value in “Sub Rosa,...

Only an elite group of 19 artists so far have achieved Egot status, winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
The rare and coveted Egot is not easy to come by, so it’s not surprising that fewer than two dozen have achieved this status. And while the artists don’t get a final Egot trophy when it happens, its nonetheless one of show business’ greatest honors.
So, who does have the Egot?
Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Legend, Tim Rice, Rita Moreno, Audrey Hepburn, Mel Brooks, Mike Nichols, Whoopi Goldberg, Helen Hayes, Marvin Hamlisch, Robert Lopez, Richard Rodgers, John Gielgud, Jonathan Tunick, Alan Menken, Jennifer Hudson, Viola Davis and Scott Rudin are those who have won all four awards competitively.
While Barbra Streisand, James Earl Jones, Harry Belafonte, Quincy Jones and Liza Minnelli have all received honorary non-competitive awards, not everyone considers them to be Egot achievements.

Prince Harry expressed the extreme discomfort he felt after watching Meghan Markle’s sex scenes in Suits.
From 2011 and 2018, Markle starred as lawyer Rachel Zane in the hit legal drama opposite Patrick J Adams, who played her love interest, Mike Ross.
Markle married producer Trevor Engelson just after the show’s first season premiered, before getting divorced in 2014.
Two years later, Harry and Markle met before eventually getting married in 2018.
During the early days of their relationship, Harry recalled making “the mistake of Googling and watching some of her love scenes online” in an excerpt (via Page Six) from his forthcoming memoir Spare.
“I’d witnessed her and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room,” he wrote. “I didn’t need to see such things live.”

Actress Gates McFadden has said in interviews that she felt unsatisfied by her character's arc on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." For six of the show's seven seasons -- and for four feature films -- McFadden played the stalwart and morally upstanding Dr. Beverly Crusher, the chief medical officer on the U.S.S. Enterprise-d. She was the only parent at the start of the show, a first for the main cast of a "Star Trek" show. Eventually Worf (Michael Dorn) would have a son, and Data (Brent Spiner), Counselor Troi (Marina Sirtis), Commander Riker (Jonathan Frakes), and Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) would be given children for single episodes, but Dr. Crusher was the only character to weather being a parent in dialogue on a regular basis.

Almost immediately following the news that Mike Flanagan and producing partner Trevor Macy would be leaving Netflix and heading over to Amazon Studios as part of a new overall deal, the streaming giant announced that they would not be pursuing a second season of "The Midnight Club," Flanagan's recent teen-horror series based on the books of Christopher Pike. The news was unfortunate but not all that surprising, especially as "The Midnight Club" didn't pull in as high critical reception as his previous series like "The Haunting of Hill House" or "Midnight Mass," but it certainly still had a pretty dedicated fanbase of younger viewers. The show centered on a group of terminally ill young adults who meet each night at midnight to trade scary stories, which provided a vehicle for other Pike stories to be told.

Mike Flanagan kept his word and has revealed the answers to burning questions from the cliffhanger ending of “The Midnight Club,” following Netflix’s decision to cancel the show after one season.

The Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong-created series “The Midnight Club” marked the first Netflix series for Flanagan that was intended to continue over multiple seasons, which meant that the inaugural season ended with multiple unresolved storylines and cliffhangers.
The news of the series cancellation leaves fans disappointed that those loose ends will remain unresolved, or does it?
Flanagan fulfilled his promise on Twitter not to leave fans hanging in the wake of the cancellation news, providing detailed plans for what we would’ve seen had season two come to pass.
In a blog post, Flanagan answers the mysteries of Dr. Stanton (Heather Langenkamp) and her ties to Brightcliffe Hospice’s cult past, the true identity of the Janitor (Robert Longstreet), what the Shadow is, and the fates of central characters introduced in the inaugural season.
More than wrapping up story threads, Flanagan reveals more Pike novels planned for the second season.

If you walk through the streets of the small towns of Quemoy or Kinmen nowadays, you would not imagine the kind of destruction and misery during the 30 years of shelling by the Chinese army, which cost the lives of many. However, if one looks closer, there are signs of an army being present, in this case the Taiwanese who used the island as a training ground for their soldiers, but also resisted the enemy there. Where You Can Stream It: Disney+
The Pitch: If you're looking for a beautiful film to watch in honor of Día de Los Muertos, Pixar's "Coco" will have you laughing through tears. The 2017 film is, in my humble opinion, one of the best things Pixar has ever done. It's gorgeous, it's funny, introduces the world to some wonderful traditions, and it's going to require a giant box of tissues. You've been warned.

Maria Salud Ramirez Caballero, the Mexican woman who reportedly inspired the 2017 Pixar animation Coco, has died at the age of 109.
Coco told the story of a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who travels to the Land of the Dead to meet his deceased great-great-grandfather.
One of the main characters in the film is an elderly woman named Coco, Miguel’s great-grandmother, voiced by Ana Ofelia Murguia.
Caballero’s death was announced by Roberto Monroy, the secretary of tourism for the Mexican state of Michoacan.
According to TMZ, Monroy said that she had died in Santa Fe de la Laguna of undisclosed causes.
Monroy described her as a “tireless woman and life model”.
Disney has never confirmed that Caballero was indeed the inspiration for for Coco, though her family have claimed that a Pixar team met with Caballero, photographed her and lived with her for a period.

(Spoiler Alert: This article reveals the team that was sent home on Monday, Oct. 10)
On Week 4 of “Dancing With the Stars,” Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas were tied at the top of the leaderboard again as they channeled Marge and Homer Simpson for Disney+ night. They shared the top spot with Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, who danced a jazz number to “Wait For It,” from “Hamilton.”
The night also saw homages to “Luca,” “The Muppet Show,” “Mary Poppins,” “Hocus Pocus 2” and other offerings on Disney+.
Weatherman Sam Champion and partner Cheryl Burke ended up in the bottom again, with judges having to choose between them and Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater. So who went home? Sadly, it was Sam, who did a “The Greatest Showmen”-themed paso doble.

The most synergistic night on “Dancing with the Stars” now comes with a slight twist. Disney Night is so yesterday (and a broadcast network ago). It’s time to bring on Disney+ Night.
In honor of the show’s new home, the remaining 13 couples will perform to songs featured in a film or series on the streaming service. That means there won’t just be the usual Disney classics and animated films represented, but also “Hamilton,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” “The Simpsons” and the recently released “Hocus Pocus 2.” Gotta love the promo.
After missing the past two shows because of Covid-19, Daniella Karagach will be back on Monday to perform the Charleston to “A Star Is Born” from “Hercules” with Joseph Baena. She had choreographed the routine while quarantining and had teased it earlier this week as ” so cool, so fun.”

“Did you think you were making a French independent film?” rails literary agent Vincent (Mikaël Chirinian) in French independent film “The World After Us.” He’s angry with his callow young client, Labidi (Aurélien Gabrielli), because Labidi has abruptly changed tack on a novel that’s already been optioned, and has also changed its title to, inevitably, “The World After Us.” Louda Ben Salah-Cazanas’ directorial debut is sensitively made, well observed and beautifully performed, but as this rather desultory stab at reflexivity suggests, it doesn’t have many surprises in store.
Where it really works is as a character portrait of the young aspiring author, to great measure aided by Gabrielli’s soulful, faintly Charles Aznavour vibe and tamped-down, off-kilter charm. Labidi, whose doting and delightful working-class Muslim parents (Saadia Bentaïeb and Jacques Nolot) run a small café in Lyon, lives in Paris. Actually, he basically squats there, sleeping on...
