NCIS: Hawai’i fans aren’t going down without a fight. They want the show to continue and have created a petition to save it.
The sad news came out late Friday that CBS canceled NCIS: Hawai’i. CBS decided not to order a fourth season of the hit drama.
Many fans are confused about how the show could continuously win its 10/9c timeslot on Monday nights and not earn another season.
Vanessa Lachey said she was “gutted” by the cancelation. It was part of a message she posted on social media after hearing the news.
Vanessa has played Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant through the first three seasons of NCIS: Hawai’i. The character also appeared on NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Maybe we could see Tennant appear on one of the four NCIS programs with new episodes in the next television season.

The show had been on the bubble for being renewed, along with a handful of other shows that also missed the cut.
CBS also canceled So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas, but the network renewed Elsbeth, Tracker, and S.W.A.T.
NCIS did get a Season 22 order, bringing new episodes to Monday nights in the fall of 2024.

After three seasons, NCIS: Hawai’i has been cancelled by CBS. While the show was on the bubble, Deadline says it’s still a little surprising as there had been talks of an “abbreviated fourth and final season,” but that would have come with a massive budget cut.
NCIS: Hawai’i starred Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant, the first female Special Agent-in-Charge of the NCIS: Hawaiʻi Field Office. The finale of the third season, which will now be a series finale, will air on May 6th. Sources say that while it wasn’t meant to be a series finale, the episode won’t end on a major cliffhanger that will leave fans frustrated. With just three seasons under its belt, this places NCIS: Hawai’i has the shortest series in the franchise, following NCIS: New Orleans with 7 seasons and NCIS: Los Angeles with 14 seasons. It came down to the wire, but NCIS: Hawai’i ultimately didn’t make the cut for next season at CBS. The news comes days before the network is set to announce its fall schedule on May 2 and before the Season 3 finale of Hawai’i is scheduled to air on May 6. According to sources, the episode was not meant to be a series finale and includes a tease for what was to come but fans won’t be left reeling by a major cliffhanger.
The cancellation is not a complete shocker since, as Deadline has been reporting, NCIS: Hawai’i was on the bubble. Still, the outcome is surprising since an effort was made to extend the well performing drama’s run for at least an abbreviated fourth and final season, with producers agreeing to a massive budget cut and open to other concessions in order to keep the show going.

CBS is shutting down one of its NCIS field offices.
The network has canceled NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons. The show’s season — and now series — finale is set to air on May 6.
The series, which stars Vanessa Lachey and added former NCIS: Los Angeles star LL Cool J to its cast this season, will likely end up as the most watched show to be canceled this season — topping two other canceled CBS shows, CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd. NCIS: Hawai’i is averaging about 7.8 million viewers in Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings this season, and it hits 10 million viewers over 35 days of cross-platform viewing.
Those numbers would make for easy renewals most anyplace else, but they put NCIS: Hawai’i only in the middle of the pack at CBS. The network will also introduce a new NCIS series in the 2024-25 season, a prequel subtitled Origins that follows a...

“NCIS: Hawai’i” has been canceled at CBS.
The “NCIS” spinoff is currently airing its third season at the broadcast network. The season finale scheduled to air on May 6 will now serve as the series finale.
“NCIS: Hawai’i” was the fourth series in the “NCIS” franchise and is now the third series to end. Both “NCIS: New Orleans” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” ended in the past few years after seven and 14 seasons respectively.
That is not to say the franchise is not still going strong. The mothership series was renewed at the beginning of April. CBS is also prepping a prequel series about a young Jethro Leroy Gibbs, while Paramount+ is readying a spinoff that will see the returns of both Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly. Paramount+ and CBS also air “NCIS: Sydney,” which was renewed for a second season in March.

Way back in 2003, the hit CBS series Jag introduced its audience to Jethro Gibbs and his crack team of investigators, who focus on navy-related crimes from the forensics and investigative side.
This 'back-door pilot' led the way to NCIS, which is now in its 21st season and has inspired multiple spin-offs.
There's a lot to celebrate about this success, and recently the show paid homage to its roots with a landmark 1,000th episode. However, two major snubs ruffled the feathers of some fans, and for good reason.
All The Way Back To The Start
In episode #1000, appropriately named 'A Thousand Yards', NCIS Director Leon Vance is shot while arguing with his estranged son Jared. When the culprit is revealed to be Jared's new girlfriend, Lindsey Wexler, it doesn't take the team long to discover that she is daughter of sleeper agent Leonard Rush, whom Gibbs took down in the very...

“East Bay,” a dark comedy film starring “Fresh Off the Boat” and “Crazy Rich Asians” star Constance Wu, has been picked up for North American distribution and world sales by Level 33 Entertainment.
The film won the audience award last year at the Cinequest Film and Creativity festival in San Jose. Level 33 plans to release it next month in North American theaters, ahead of a later digital outing.
Wu portrays the close friend of a man who feels he has let down his immigrant parents and, after a string of personal and professional humiliations, is forced to accept that he is a failure. His friends, an arts administrator, a guru and computer programmers, each have issues of their own and struggle with pressure to be happy and successful. NCIS: Origins has added Daniel Bellomy (Power Book II: Ghost), Caleb Martin Foote (Made For Love) and Robert Taylor (Longmire) in recurring roles. The CBS prequel to the venerable procedural has a straight-to-series order for the 2024-2025 broadcast season.
Executive produced and narrated by Mark Harmon, Origins begins in 1991, years before the events of NCIS, and chronicles Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ younger years. In the prequel, Gibbs (Austin Stowell) starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling Nis Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid).
Additionally, Mariel Molina will play Special Agent Lala Dominguez, Tyla Abercrumbie will play Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Sullivan and Diany Rodriguez will play Special Agent Vera Strickland.

It was only appropriate that the 1,000th episode of the NCISverse aired on the Mother Ship.
While NCIS Season 21 Episode 7 didn't live up to all the hype (what could have?), it was still enjoyable and well-constructed.
It also skillfully drew upon NCIS's long history, going back 21 seasons.
The spotlight fell on Rocky Carroll's Director Vance, who has been too close to becoming a recurring character in recent seasons.
The storyline hearkened back to one of Vance's shining emotional moments when his wife Jackie was killed during an assassination attempt on Eli David on NCIS Season 10 Episode 11.
As expected, that event had lasting repercussions on the Vance family.
Kayla followed her father's lead and became an NCIS agent afloat.
Jared, who was closer to Jackie, had been adrift since then, never committing to anything in Leon's mind.

In case you somehow missed it, the 1,000th episode of the NCISverse is upcoming.
That will be NCIS Season 21 Episode 7, airing on CBS at 9 p.m. Monday, April 15.
The event was heralded by an Entertainment Tonight special hosted by Kevin Frazier, which aired April 8 on CBS. It's likely still available on streaming service Paramount+.
NCIS has been on 21 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles lasted 14 seasons, and NCIS: New Orleans seven. NCIS: Hawaii is in its third season, while NCIS: Sydney recently finished its first season. You do the math to get to 999.
So, as the NCISverse's 1,000th episode approaches, would now be the peak for the franchise, with two spinoffs airing this season and two new spinoffs planned for next season?
Not at all, although this certainly could be seen as the golden age of NCIS Recycling, which admittedly is at least in vogue now.

NCIS Season 21 is going by very quickly. Fans may be upset to learn it’s also already half over.
The two Hollywood strikes not only delayed production for months – it has also led to a much shorter season.
Five episodes from Season 21 have already aired, with only five new ones left to debut this spring.
Hopefully, CBS will order NCIS Season 22 soon, so fans can look forward to more new content next year.
Previous episodes of NCIS are also available for streaming on Paramount+, allowing fans to enjoy older content during the upcoming summer hiatus. That includes the Ducky tribute episode that said goodbye to David McCallum earlier this season.
As for the remaining episodes this season, some noteworthy ones are already on the CBS TV schedule.
NCIS Season 21, Episode 6 information
A new episode called Strange Invaders airs on Monday, April 1. This serves as NCIS Season 21, Episode 6. It debuts at 9/8c on CBS.

NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 will end quicker than fans had hoped.
The bad news is that after the March 25 episode, the season is already half over.
Even though the NCIS spin-off recently (and finally) returned from its long hiatus, the hit CBS drama is running out of new episodes to air this spring.
The producers ramped up the action by adding LL Cool J to the show, allowing him to continue playing NCIS Agent Sam Hanna.
Agent Hanna was a featured character on NCIS: Los Angeles until the series ended.
For NCIS fans who want to catch on with the current season in Hawai’i, all previously aired episodes are available for streaming on Paramount+. So are the 14 seasons that NCIS: Los Angeles aired on CBS.

It seems like 2024 is the year for NCIS fans, with several new series spinoffs to add to the roster.
NCIS loyalists may feel lost without original spinoffs NCIS: LA, which aired for 14 seasons, and NCIS: New Orleans, which was canceled in 2021 after seven seasons.
But we're thrilled to see long-time agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) share the screen with his Hawaiian co-stars in the spinoff NCIS: Hawai'i. And even better news is the new series spinoffs, NCIS: Syndey -- just renewed for Season 2 -- and NCIS: Origins.
We'll also enjoy the continuation of the love story between Dinozzo and David in a yet-unnamed spinoff later in 2024-2025.
Here's everything we know about the upcoming prequel, NCIS: Origins.
What is NCIS: Origins?
NCIS: Origins is a series that takes place in the 90s and follows Leroy Jethro Gibbs as he starts out as a rookie NCIS agent at Camp Pendelton.

Few series can claim to set an unprecedented record of reaching 1000 shows. The popular NCIS franchise that has stood the test of time over many years, is celebrating this milestone. Beginning its journey in 2003, the show branched off successfully into various city spinoffs which included series based in Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Hawai’i that have all contributed to the landmark.

The 1,000th episode from the NCIS Universe has officially been filmed.
Those numbers include episodes from the original NCIS and the various spin-offs.
“Reaching 1,000 episodes for the franchise was insane, and, by the way, I’m pointing out that almost 500 of those are just us,” NCIS star Sean Murray said.
Murray has been featured as Agent Timothy McGee since the first season. And his character is still going strong in NCIS Season 21.
“It’s unreal. We had a lot of people asking what it was like, and I kept kind of shaking my head because it’s really unfathomable,” Murray added to TV Insider.
Murray also teased NCIS set photos featuring Joe Spano. That’s the actor who has played Tobias Fornell for years. Fornell usually appears in a Gibbs-centric episode, but Mark Harmon retired his character to Alaska.

NCIS is a successful series with multiple spinoffs that have entertained viewers for over two decades. The first international venture -- NCIS: Sydney -- takes viewers to a different continent with a new cast and intriguing scenarios.
The first season saw extreme success, with "Gone Fission" NCIS: Sydney Season 1 Episode 1 having more viewers than any CBS premiere in streaming history. Paramount+ and CBS reported a combined 10 million viewers.
Unsurprisingly, US viewers love the Sydney spinoff as much as the Hawai'i version, which usually gets five million regular broadcast viewers. Even the original NCIS receives seven million viewers, minus streaming and other viewing methods.
But given that NCIS: Syndey takes place in Australia, it makes sense that it airs on Australian networks, too. It has become the most-watched locally produced (Australian) show aired on the Australian Paramount+ network.
Here is everything that we know about NCIS: Syndey Season 2.

NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 airs on Monday nights this winter and spring.
The shortened season began late due to two Hollywood strikes, but millions of viewers still tune in each week.
The season finale is already sneaking up on fans, and the network renewal time has also arrived.
NBC already announced it was renewing its One Chicago shows. The network also decided to bring back Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu.
CBS has been a little slower to announce renewals, but it did reveal that Fire Country will return to Friday night next television season.
CBS did announce it is bringing back NCIS: Sydney for a second season. The international show did well in its first season and picked up a renewal.
Is NCIS: Hawai’i renewed or canceled yet?

The NCIS franchise will be airing its 1,000th episode on April 15, and CBS Studios President David Stapf has been involved in every single one of them. Because he was head of CBS current programming at the time, he even participated in the development of the mothership series from Day 1 because it originated as two back-door pilot episodes of an existing show, Jag, that aired in April 2003. He was in on all casting sessions and still remembers Pauley Perrette’s audition that won her the role of Abby in the room.

The NCIS show that was never made to air on CBS has just been renewed for the network.
When NCIS: Sydney was first announced, we weren’t even sure it would be shown in the US. We figured the Australian series would land on Paramount+ at best.
Here we are less than a year later, and we’ve got another NCIS that’s going to remain on the linear network.
CBS announces the renewal of last fall’s #1 new series, NCIS: Sydney, on the CBS Television Network for the 2024-2025 season. The pickup corresponds with the cross-continent season two order today by Paramount+ Australia.
The first international expansion of the globally popular NCIS franchise launched successfully across multiple territories and Paramount Global platforms, debuting on Paramount+ Australia on Nov. 10, 2023, and on CBS in the U.S. and on Global in Canada on Nov. 14, 2023.
The series premiere reached over 10.2 million viewers on linear in the U.

CBS and Paramount+ Australia have renewed “NCIS Sydney” for a second season.
The series, which is the first international iteration of “NCIS,” debuted in November of 2023. It is the fifth series in the franchise, which includes the still-running “NCIS” and “NCIS: Hawai’i” along with “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: New Orleans,” which have both concluded.

A new NCIS: Hawai’i episode features LL Cool J in another important subplot.
LL Cool J continues to play Agent Sam Hanna within the NCIS Universe. The character first appeared in a backdoor pilot on NCIS; moving to NCIS: Los Angeles the following fall.
Sam became a free agent when NCIS: Los Angeles got canceled, and he showed up to save the day in the NCIS: Hawai’i Season 2 finale.
Much of NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 has featured Sam helping out Jane Tennant and her team in one way or another, all while seemingly having ulterior motives for being on the island.
The downside is that more scenes with LL Cool J have taken time away from other characters. But he has also brought an additional toughness and action feel to the NCIS spin-off.

The “NCIS” prequel series at CBS has added Mariel Molino to its cast, Variety has confirmed.
Malino joins previously announced series lead Austin Stowell in the series, which is titled “NCIS: Origins.” The series was originally ordered at CBS in January with plans to launch during the 2024-2025 broadcast season. Mark Harmon, who played Gibbs for nearly two decades in the mothership series, will serve as the show’s narrator and executive producer.
“NCIS: Origins” is set in 1991. The official description states, “Gibbs (Stowell) starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling Nis Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks.”
Molino will play a new character in the “NCIS” universe named Special Agent Lala Dominguez. She is described as “a former Marine who navigates her 1990s male-dominated field with a steely resolve and a dark sense of humor.

To celebrate the big event, characters from the past and the spin-off shows will appear.
Sean Murray (he plays Agent Timothy McGee) shared NCIS set photos revealing a character returning to the show.
Much like how they dealt with the build-up for the Ducky tribute episode, cast members have been sharing social media images for Episode 1,000.
It’s also possible that some surprises are being held back to entertain viewers tuning in on the big night.
The 1,000-episode count includes NCIS and all of its spin-off shows. That includes Los Angeles, Hawai’i, and New Orleans. Reaching the 1,000-episode mark for the franchise is very impressive.

The NCIS franchise is celebrating quite the milestone this April, with its 1,000th episode slated to air on the mothership. While there is only one other NCIS show on right now—Hawai’i airs after NCIS on Mondays—the 1,000th episode, airing on April 15, will feature appearances from at least one character whose series has already ended. Daniela Ruah, who played Kensi Blye on NCIS: LA (and directed a recent episode of NCIS), and Vanessa Lachey, who stars as Jane Tennant on Hawai’i, will be part of the milestone, according to TVLine, though they won’t be in D.C. “in person.” According to the outlet, their guest spots should be “quite fun.” The outlet also reports that Spence Moore II will be taking over the role of Vance’s (Rocky Carroll) son in the installment. NCIS veteran LL Cool J gave longtime viewers a pleasant surprise with his unexpected return in the new spin-off NCIS: Hawaii.
While he is perhaps best known as a Grammy-winning rapper/producer, LL Cool J became a fan-favorite in the NCIS universe, playing Special Agent Sam Hanna in all 14 seasons of NCIS: Los Angeles. This came after he was first introduced in the two backdoor NCIS: LA pilot episodes that closed out NCIS Season 6 in 2009.
Sadly, NCIS: LA came to an end in 2023 after its 14th season, leaving fans wondering if they would ever see LL Cool J or his co-stars reprise their roles as the NCIS universe pushes forward.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS Season 21 Episode 4 “Left Unsaid.”] Okay, we’ll admit we were among those hoping for an appearance from Special Agent Kensi Blye tonight, considering the episode was directed by Daniela Ruah, who played the badass agent on NCIS: LA from 2009 to 2023. But we’re happy to have Ruah (who previously directed episodes of NCIS: LA) bring her knowing eye to helming NCIS. “It was the first time I was directing on ‘the mothership’ as we lovingly call it,” Ruah tells us in Case Closed, our NCIS aftershow. “It almost didn’t matter what came my way in terms of storyline, I just wanted to be part of it and work with the crew and cast of NCIS. I was received with open arms – like a wonderful, warm hug.” Her passion for directing showed in this classic case-of-the-week storyline where the team chased down a petty officer’s murderer, who turned...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 Episode 4 “Dead on Arrival.”] The “million-dollar question” in NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 is simple: What is Sam Hanna doing on the island? LL Cool J has reprised his NCIS: LA role as a special guest star, and while he came to Hawai’i to help clear Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) for duty in the premiere, he’s obviously not just sticking around to help out as needed. But good luck getting any answers out of him! However, Jesse (Noah Mills) does get more than anyone else has yet in the latest episode. But that only comes after Jesse makes it very clear he wants Sam gone. He’s not impressed when Sam talks about him and Callen (Chris O’Donnell) being trapped in a submarine, full of explosives. Then, “so Sam Hanna’s just around now, huh,” he remarks to Jane as ...

The NCIS Universe has its new Gibbs.
A new NCIS spin-off debuts this fall that will tell stories from the earlier days of Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
The downside for some fans is that Mark Harmon won’t star in the show, even though he does have extensive involvement.
While Mark won’t appear on screen, he will narrate and executive produce NCIS: Origins.
Mark’s son Sean is also involved in the project. Sean played Gibbs during several flashback episodes of NCIS.
Now we know who will play the (new) younger version of Gibbs.
NCIS: Origins adds Austin Stowell as Gibbs
It has been confirmed that actor Austin Stowell will star as Gibbs on NCIS: Origins.
The news comes from CBS Studios and ends months of speculation from fans.
As a reminder, NCIS: Origins begins in 1991 when Gibbs and Mike Franks work at a Camp Pendleton office.

The NCIS prequel at CBS has found its young Gibbs.
Austin Stowell (Peacock’s A Friend of the Family) will play the younger version of Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS: Origins, which is set in 1991 and will look at the early days of Gibbs’ career in the Navy’s criminal investigations branch. The show’s time frame, 12 years before NCIS began, and Stowell’s real-life age, 39, track with that of Mark Harmon (51) when he originated the character on NCIS predecessor Jag in 2003.
NCIS: Origins is set to be part of CBS’ 2024-25 schedule, as the network gave the show a straight-to-series order in early January. The franchise from CBS Studios currently encompasses the main series, which is in its 21st season; 3-year-old spinoff NCIS: Hawai’i; NCIS: Sydney, the first international edition of the show; and a forthcoming Paramount+ spinoff that will feature the return of former regulars Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly.

“Days of our Lives” fans will see an unfamiliar face in a familiar role when soap newcomer Natasha Hall temporarily replaces Jessica Serfaty as Sloan Petersen for at least three episodes during the week of March 4-8, 2024.
Hall, best known for playing Yvette over three episodes in “The Kominsky Method” during the third season of the Netflix original series, will appear in scenes alongside several Salemites, including Jamie Martin Mann (Tate), Emily O Brien (Theresa) and Greg Vaughan (Eric), among others.
Soap Opera Digest, which first reported the news, did not provide a reason for the temporary recast. Meanwhile, the current storyline sees Sloan dealing with the guilt of knowing that Jude, the child she and Eric are raising, is actually Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Eric’s biological baby.
“When and if Nicole and Eric learn the truth will be something to tune in for!” teased the show’s executive producer,...

The NCIS Universe is expanding again.
Two new NCIS spin-offs are in the works to give fans additional content.
It could mean as many as five NCIS programs debuting new episodes within the next year. That’s a lot.
NCIS is currently airing Season 21 episodes, while NCIS: Hawai’i is in Season 3. New content airs each Monday night for those shows.
NCIS: Sydney is on hiatus after a successful first season, with many fans hoping it returns for more episodes. No announcement about NCIS: Sydney Season 2 has been made yet.
Fresh news has come out recently about two new shows that will debut soon – one going into the past to revisit characters and one serving as a follow-up to other characters.
What are the new NCIS spin-offs?
Mark Harmon is helping produce a new show about Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Mike Franks. It could be a huge treat for fans.

The NCIS franchise is expanding again — with a pair of very familiar faces from its past.
Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly are set to star in an untitled, Paris-set spinoff of the series, reprising their roles as, respectively, Ziva David and Tony Dinozzo. The series order comes on the heels of Weatherly returning to the flagship CBS series last week as NCIS paid tribute to the late David McCallum.
De Pablo left NCIS in 2013, and Weatherly departed two years later. In the show’s story, Tony left the service to raise his and Ziva’s daughter after her supposed death. When she was discovered to be still alive years later (de Pablo made several guest appearances in season 17), she completed a final mission and was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris.
The new series will pick up from there. Per the show’s logline, “When Tony’s security company is attacked,...

While character details and airdate are not yet known, “The Bold and the Beautiful” actor Delon de Metz (Zende Forrester) is set to appear in an upcoming episode of the CBS drama series “S.W.A.T.,” starring “The Young and the Restless” alum Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters).
On Instagram, de Metz shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself and Moore, captioning the post, “I had a great time getting the sh*t kicked out of me by big bro @shemarfmoore during my guest star on @swatcbs ! This character was a big departure from the roles I typically play and shows me in a wildly different light.”
Even before joining “The Bold and the Beautiful” in 2020 as Zende Forrester, de Metz had an extensive primetime resume, including roles in such shows as “State of Georgia,” “Teen Wolf,” “Girl Meets World,” “ Castle,” “Zoo,” Scorpion,” “ NCIS” and “ NCIS: Los Angeles,” among others.
