A new beast in town
Tweekums18 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
After Jessica's 'visit' to her parents things are not going well between Sookie and Bill; on the way home she gets out of the car and starts to walk home. She has not got far however when she is attacked by a strange creature that leaves her poisoned. In desperation Bill takes her to Eric. He arranges for her to be cured but once she is better she learns of Lafayette's presence in the cellar. She demands that Eric release him but he in turn requires a favour from her: she must go to Texas to help investigate missing vampires. Tara finally starts to thing that something isn't right at Maryann's house when a party there starts to get a little too wild for her tastes; perhaps Sam was right about her after all. Without Bill keeping an eye on her Jessica goes to Sam's bar but surprisingly she doesn't find a man to feed on; she finds one to invite home for more friendly reasons.

This was a fun episode; it looks as if we'll soon learn what Maryann is doing there and what she wants with Tara. It was also nice to see Jessica, ably played by Deborah Ann Woll, do something other than lose control and attack people. In a world containing vampires, shape-shifters and telepaths it will be interesting to learn just what kind of creature it was that attacked Sookie.

The Half-Human Half-Bull Creature
claudio_carvalho24 October 2009
Bill has a serious argument with Sookie that was completely irresponsible bringing Jessica home. Sookie gets out of the car and decides to walk alone the 20 miles home. However, she is attacked by a creature half-human half-bull that scratches her back. Bill takes her to Eric in Fangtasia and he calls Dr. Ludwig to help her. While recovering she discovers that Lafayette is arrested in the basement. Eric makes a deal with Sookie to release Lafayette. Jessica goes to the Merlotte's bar and meets Hoyt; they have an instantaneous crush on each other. Tara stays with Eggs in a party of Maryann that becomes a bacchanal. Sam decides to leave town, and goes to a midnight swim before. Daphne, the new waitress in Marlotte's, decides to join him and discloses a secret while undressing.

In "Scratches", Sookie makes a deal with Eric to save Lafayette. Jessica and Hoyt are in deep love and Tara finally feels that something is wrong in Maryann's manor. The orgy in her house upsets her. Who is Daphne? My vote is eight.

This little piggie...
skay_baltimore21 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
As Bill, Sookie, and Jessica are driving back to Bon Temps Sookie apologizes to Bill but he does not accept her apology. She gets out of the car, walks into the woods, and is attacked by some sort of creature with sharp claws and horns. Bill gives her his blood but it doesn't seem to help, so he takes her to Fangtasia where a woman healer gives Sookie a very painful, but effective treatment.

Jason's beginning to have second thoughts about the Leadership retreat, but Sarah twists things around, pushing his guilt buttons over not having done enough to prevent the deaths of Gran and Amy. She invites Jason to pray with her, but one gets the distinct impression her motives are less than pure.

Sookie makes a deal to help Eric. In return, Sookie gets $10,000.00, and LaFayette gets to go free.

The party at Maryann's is heating up, just as Andy arrives. (And it's a clear case of "Now you see it, now you don't" with Maryann's pig.) But as the party turns into an orgy Tara is not pleased.

Funny line: (Steve to Jason) "Ya know...my wife must think you're pretty special". (Jason responds) "Really?" (Steve) Well Sarah doesn't whip out her pudding for just anybody".

Jessica heads off to Merlotte's and picks up Hoyt, then brings him back to Bill's house. They start kissing and Jessica's fangs pop out. She's so embarrassed she says to Hoyt: "This is so embarrassing I'd die if I weren't already dead". Unfortunately, Hoyt's chivalry is no match for Jessica's...uhm....hunger.

And finally...Sam decides to take a little swim and cool off. Daphne joins him, and just as she's taking off her shirt we see the same sort of marks on her back that Sookie had on hers after the attack by the horned/demon thing.

S2.E3 - The Creature [9/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S2. E3) My Live Reaction / Review for True Blood Season 2 Episode 3 ''Scratches''. Episode 2 was good and I gave it a rating of 9.6/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Someone attacked Sookie, its a creature that looks like maybe a bull or a werewolf? I thought that drinking too much vampire blood can make you sick but here we see Bill giving his blood to Sookie to heal her, am I missing something? When Sookie hit Eric in the face that was funny to me, I laughed. Seems like Hoyt found the vampire girlfriend he wanted. The creepy thing is that Jessica is supposed to be a teenager. Finally Lafayette is free again. Overall an amazing episode, my rating is 9/10.
