Simple minded predictable... ugh
arias-569-3665118 April 2023
I kept waiting for anything interesting or clever. It just felt like it was created by a group of high school kids. Plot lines were loaded with stereotypes and odd decisions. Dialog seemed forced... like they were in a hurry to get this monstrosity done as quickly as possible.

Now I have to fill a review with minimum characters to describe something that makes me angry for wasting the time? How about this... Don't watch this bad movie. It's was bad bad baddity bad. Full of badness. I could not unsee the bad which was thrust upon me. If bad were a marshmallow, this would be the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from the first Ghostbusters movie. I didn't like it.

I gave it two stars because at least it provided some jobs for the actors and crew.

Not good

Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this movie, however, the acting is absolutely terrible. The plot had real potential to be interesting. The acting was so forced and painful to watch. I kept waiting for things to get better and unfortunately they never did. The woman who was the boss at the FBI was truly embarrassing. Is yelling at the guy detonating a bomb to hurry up a smart idea? When and where was the wife kidnapped before being strapped with this bomb? You know the bad guy is watching you and you go right back to the same life you had before? The poor wife would need counseling after all that trauma and at the very least some kind of protection since no one ever discussed where she was grabbed. Fast forward one year and somehow you're in the same exact restaurant and mysteriously the bad guy pays for your breakfast again! Are you kidding me? I want my 70 minutes back.

Worst Movie Ranking
kmartin-603437 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
We have a new front runner for worst movie of the 21st Century. The script was a combination of incoherent and elementary. There were plot holes galore. The direction was pitiful. The attempt to hide the shortcomings of the content was laughable. Note the coverage of the death of a prominent character in an "explosion". Hard to say whether the acting or production was worse. I feel sorry for the editors. Thankfully it is short. I don't know why I watched to the finish. Perhaps it was to see if there was any hint of intelligence, but no. This film belongs on the lowest tier of streaming services. I'm surprised Showtime would would allow on their platform.

This Movie Sucks
cccarriere5 January 2024
I watch plenty of bad movies, but by far, this is the worst I have ever seen. I am going to note the name of everyone connected with this "film" and make sure to NEVER watch any of their work again.

I feel bad for everyone that comes here and reads this review, because it means you probably experienced the disappointment that I just did.

There is nothing redeeming about this movie. Whatever they spent to make it, they should have just taken that cash into the street and burned it. The world would have been a better place.

Given their gross negligence and failure, the people involved with this production should be banned for life from the entertainment industry.

May God have mercy on their souls.

A caricature of a bad B movie.
drenstere10 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Super secret undercover agent bests an elite arms dealer with his cover identity, then immediately goes on national TV to blow his cover immediately following the arrest... ...and the movie just gets worse from there.

Every spot seems to be an SNL-rendition of a scene from a crime thriller. I kept wondering if this was a Wayans Brothers shadow project and the curtain would pull back to reveal the zaniness for the last reel. Alas.

It's not so much that the cast is bad; rather, they never really had a chance to be successful here. The direction is bad, the writing is worse, the concept is contrived and while there are some decent outdoor camera moments happening in this flick they can't save the rest of it.

Awful in every way!!
usaflanyo10 February 2024
This has to be the worst film I've seen since "The Room" and even that was more entertaining. The main characters did not have an ounce of chemistry between each other or the other actors and actresses for that matter.. The acting was bad, wooden, not believable, the storyline was weak and predictable, lacking any imagination or creativity. This must have been "a made for tv daytime movie", for a rainy day in the afternoon as a filler, as a last resort. So low budget that the cheques probably bounced.

The only positive was that it lasted about 1hr 10 minutes as to not prolong the agony too much.

Do not waste your time on this terrible production.

COVID FILM
tammierenee267 December 2023
For a film shot and released during the height of COVID I can understand the time restraints and casting.

It's a popcorn film if you got a hr and some change to spare give it a watch. It's not an academy award winning but at least there was effort placed on production & lighting (the restaurant scene was dope ).

Nice to see some newcomers get a shot and cool to see a film not steeped in urban galore and gratuitous violence and sex.

Maybe with a bit more budget, no PANDEMIC, & some bigger names, Rift could have carried a little more weight.

I guess a lot of the reviewers haven't seen a tubi original.

It was okay.

The movie itself is okay. Obviously low budget. I'm puzzled about one thing though. Anyone who ever watched The Weather Channel when Vivian Brown was an on-air meteorologist would know her instantly. Such is the case with this movie. Every movie website I've looked at lists an actress named Stephanie Casebier as the actress portraying news anchor Mary Jacobs. No, it isn't. I looked up the actress, Stephanie Casebier, and she's looks nothing like the actress portraying that character. Stephanie Casebier is a Caucasian actress. The actress portraying news anchor Mary Jacobs is African American meteorologist Vivian Brown. I watched her for 29 years on The Weather Channel. I certainly know her when I see her.
