Ok, fun fact I learned about the show is that Margaret Qualley is actually the daughter of Andie MacDowell - their real life relationship on screen! I find that really cool. I thought that the role of Paula was fantastic and MacDowell pulled it off really well. She genuinely stole every scene she was in. No wonder why they had such great (dysfunctional) chemistry, perhaps it's reflective of their real relationship. I really felt the amount of paperwork on a personal level. In many cases, government paper forms are genuinely insane. I've witnessed this before first hand and I feel that this episode described it pretty well. Not a huge fan of the sort of hallucination effect because they keep using it but it can be funny.
Interesting thing in this episode is that they started to add more depth to the secondary characters. Sean may be abusive, but has a family history of drug use, which can really screw you up. He is also somewhat remorseful of his actions and shows desire to correct himself. Paula is by far the most unstable and sometimes says nasty things but sort of redeems herself by painting Maddy's room beautifully. So lots of subtle nuances, no black and white characters, which I like. Beginning to enjoy this show more!
