Netflix’s “Stranger Things” was known for its nostalgic needle drops before the most recent season, but Season 4 catapulted the show’s soundtrack to a whole new level by putting Kate Bush back at the top of the charts decades after “Running Up That Hill” was first released.
But the “Stranger Things” Season 4 Volume 2 soundtrack isn’t without its own standout musical moments — including, yes, more Kate Bush.
The trailer for Season 4 features a remix of Journey’s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” which forecasts the impending sense of doom that comes with the latest, darkest installment of the Netflix tentpole, which contrasts very sharply with the use of Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home” and The Who’s “Baba O’Reily” in the trailer for summer-y Season 3. Even the upbeat duet of “Never Ending Story” solidifies the long distance relationship between Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Suzie Bingham (Gabriela Pizzolo).

Weitz, who was appointed to the role in January 2019, was among the group of WarnerMedia execs that came over under the new David Zaslav-selected regime at Warner Bros. Discovery, following the close of the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger in early April.
Weitz was moved under Discovery lifestyle channels chief Kathleen Finch, who assumed a newly created role of chairman and chief content officer of U.S. Networks Group, a new, consolidated organization comprising the company’s more than 40 U.S. networks. His role has now been eliminated, with Finch taking oversight of TBS, TNT and truTV.

As Discovery and WarnerMedia are set to close their 43B merger later this week, the attention has been focused mainly on the deal’s ramifications for WarnerMedia’s movie and scripted television businesses. There’s been much industry chatter about the importance of Casey Bloys’ scripted television empire and whether Toby Emmerich continues to oversee The Batman film studio.
The pair, alongside Warner Bros. TV boss Channing Dungey, are expected to report directly to David Zaslav under the company’s new structure, which is set to be unveiled shortly.
However, as high-profile these areas are, they also are additive to Discovery’s business, which is only peripherally involved in scripted TV via the company’s venture with Oprah Winfrey OWN. Meanwhile, it is unscripted television where the two merging companies have the biggest overlap and where combining the assets will require consolidation.

We've got an exclusive look at Wipeout Season 1 Episode 12 with Sharon and Teresa, the oldest contestants to date.
We had access to another clip, too, but Sharon and Teresa understand that Wipeout is a game.
In other words, major points awarded to these contestants for their spirit alone!
First, a little bit about the show.
John Cena and Nicole Byers host the show, with Camille Kostek taking her cues from the field. Essentially, it's their job to make Wipeout as funny as possible.
Sometimes, that's needed as some contestants take it too darn serious. Those are the people we hope wipe out the hardest.
And wipe out they do because Wipeout is an adrenaline-fueled comedy competition series that pushes contestants' athleticism, endurance, and determination as they race to win the grand cash prize.
And cash makes people do silly things. Unfortunately, it also makes people jerks, and that's a reminder that if you're a jerk,...

Scripted formats and gameshows are performing strongly in Asia for Banijay Rights, the distribution arm of Banijay.
“Grantchester” is a strong seller and the company licensed dramas such as “The Good Karma Hospital,” “Younger” and European titles locally to partners like Mola TV, says Banijay Rights EVP Asia Rashmi Bajpai. ” ‘Mr. Bean’ is an evergreen property, delighting children and adults alike, while physical gameshows such as ‘Wipeout’ and super-brands like ‘MasterChef’ dominate our sales chart,” Bajpai told Variety.
“On the formats side, big branded shows with proven sponsorship potential that can be shot in controlled environments — such as ‘MasterChef’ and ‘Big Brother’ — and small to medium-scale humorous gameshows with easy to understand game-play like ‘First and Last,’ also do well,” Bajpai added.
After the success of the Tamil-language “Survivor,” hosted by film star Arjun Sarja, in India, Banijay is in discussions to produce more versions.

The basic idea of a “Legends of the Hidden Temple” revival isn’t an offensive one. As long as every piece of media is getting rebooted, revised and regurgitated, why not a delightfully cheesy game show in which kids scrambled up styrofoam rocks and answered trivia questions about fake Mayan myths as a scarlet-eyed stone sculpture set their next challenge? For a certain subset of millennials, “Legends of the Hidden Temple” — which aired on Nickelodeon from 1993 to 1995 — was one of TV’s more entertaining distractions. Asking my friends at recess if they’d rather be a “purple parrot” or “silver snake” was, in retrospect, preparation for millions of internet personality quizzes to come. So when pressing play on a new iteration of the show, premiering Oct. 10 on the CW, I was open to the idea that bringing it back could be a fun enough time — but it didn’t take...

Jill Wagner has a familiar face because she’s a familiar person. From 2008 until 2014, she was the woman on ABC hosting the show “Wipeout,” the guilty pleasure we all watched. People tried desperately to get through, over, under, and around obstacles in their way without falling flat on their faces – which is what viewers wanted to see – and she was an animated host. She’s also a familiar face for Hallmark movie lovers, and we thought with the holiday season right around the corner (we call it Hallmark movie season), it might be time for her fans to

Exclusive: David Letterman’s “Stupid Pet Tricks” is making a television comeback. TBS has greenlighted a 10-episode half-hour comedy-variety series inspired by the iconic segment Letterman did for three decades on NBC’s Late Night and CBS’ Late Show, with Sarah Silverman as host. The project hails from The Jay & Tony Show’s Jay Blumenfield and Tony Marsh and Letterman’s Worldwide Pants. Blumenfield, Marsh, Letterman, Silverman and Amy Zvi executive produce.
Stupid Pet Tricks, the series, promises to retain all the original segment’s charm, silly fun and appreciation for the often-absurd bond between humans and their animal friends, with Silverman infusing it with a quirky vibe. “Nailed It” host Nicole Byer remembers her initial reaction to being nominated for an Emmy last year. “Honestly, when people say it’s just an honor to be nominated, you’re like, ‘That’s bullshit. You wanted to win.’ I was up against RuPaul. And like the people of ‘Shark Tank.’ I was not going to win,” she says. “And that’s okay with me. So, it was an honor to be nominated.”
This year, Byer is once again nominated in the host for a reality or competition program category, for “Nailed It.” And as an executive producer of the Netflix series, she’s also part of the team nominated for the show as outstanding competition program.
“It made me feel like yes, like I elevated hosting, like, I brought something very different to hosting and it was recognized,” she told Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, in an interview conducted...

TBS has enlisted Tiffany Haddish to host “Friday Night Vibes,” a weekly movie showcase that will feature wrap-around segments with the comedian and guests.

Netflix has picked up a second season of the game show “Floor Is Lava,” TheWrap has confirmed.
The 10-episode game show debuted in June 2020 and challenged teams to navigate rooms “flooded with lava by leaping from chairs, hanging from curtains and swinging from chandeliers,” according to Netflix’s description. “Yes, really.”
