The narrator mentions that Scutosaurus is a relative of the turtles. This theory is actually heavily discussed, and may turn out to be entirely false.
At the end of the episode, the small Triassic reptile Euparkeria suddenly fast-forwards through evolution to become a giant Jurassic Allosaurus, after which a short montage begins showing of various clips from the sequel Walking with Dinosaurs (1999), including one brand new shot. The Allosaurus that the Euparkeria turns into, however, isn't from Walking with Dinosaurs (1999) - it is actually the allosaur model from The Lost World (2001), which was also a BBC-Framestore project. In the following shot, the animal is suddenly replaced by the Allosaurus model from Allosaurus: A Walking with Dinosaurs Special (2000).
The episode's preview shows a shot in which the female Gorgonopsid who has killed the Scutosaurus is approached by another specimen of her kind. This shot doesn't appear in the episode proper.
