For many older viewers, Jennifer Garner’s portrayal of Elektra holds a special place in their hearts, despite the flaws of her standalone movie. However, when Netflix produced Marvel shows, Elodie Yung won fans over with her portrayal of the youthful assassin and Daredevil’s love interest.
Now it’s confirmed that Garner will return as Elektra in the upcoming ‘Daredevil & Wolverine.’ With ‘Echo’ incorporating elements from the ‘Defenders’ storyline, fans are hopeful for Yung’s return as Elektra in the MCU. Yung herself acknowledged the constant inquiries about the role in an interview with toofab.
Oh my god, I would love that! My fans are like “Can you come back?” I’m like, ask Mr. Marvel. You have to ask Mr. Marvel… I would gladly replay this part, are you kidding? She’s so much fun!

For most of the older audiences, Jennifer Garner is the only live-action Elektra that they are emotionally tied to, no matter how bad her standalone movie was. But back when Netflix was making shows based on Marvel characters, Elodie Yung embodied the young assassin and Daredevil’s love interest and fans took quite a liking to her.
Now it’s been confirmed that Garner will reprise her role as Elektra in the upcoming ‘Daredevil & Wolverine,’ and since ‘Echo’ has canonized a good portion of the ‘Defenders’ saga plenty of fans have been hoping that Elodie Yung will make a return as Elektra in the MCU. In fact, Yung admitted as much herself, that she gets asked constantly about the role in her interview with toofab.

The inclusion of Elektra in Daredevil season 2 has been rumoured for a while. Indeed, it’s something that Charlie Cox seemed keen to happen when we interviewed him earlier this year.
Now, the news has been confirmed, and an actress has been named too – Elodie Yung. She’s been seen before in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and District 13: Ultimatum. She also popped up in the American Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie back in 2011.
“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Marvel TV bigwig Jeph Loeb.

Over the course of his dozen-plus films as a writer-director, Parisian auteur Luc Besson has become known for his stylish inversions of schlock genre fare and a certain, shall we call it, Vive la femme attitude toward women.
Time and again, his movies place emotionally fragile female characters in physically perilous situations: a conflicted hit-woman struggling with the perils of her job in 1990’s La Femme Nikita, 12-year old Natalie Portman on the run as an assassin-in-training in The Professional, and Milla Jovovich’s universe-saving alien Leeloo in The Fifth Element (1997) among them. Besson’s latest multiplex offering appears set to follow that template.

Director: Camille Delamarre. Writers: Luc Besson and Bibi Naceri. Cast: Paul Walker, David Belle, RZA, Gouchy Boy and Catalina Denis. Brick Mansions is a remake of the French film District B13 (2004). Actor David Belle, the originator of Parkour, stars in both films and a sequel to District B13, titled District 13: Ultimatum (2009). All three films deal with a post-apocalyptic cityscape. As well, Brick Mansions continues to be shot in French locales, with the original shot in Paris and the remake shot in Montreal, Quebec. This second film is less gritty than the first and the PG-13 rating for the remake does not help with any sense of realism. Full of half-cocked political messages, Brick Mansions is a fairly standard action thriller, with Camille Delamarre's camerawork a little off-setting. This title takes place in 2018. In the future, parts of Detroit have been walled off, due to the unpoliceable nature of the streets.

Though Brick Mansions might not be on everyone’s radar, it definitely should be. Starring the late Paul Walker, RZA and David Belle, the film is a remake of French actioner District 13 and like the original, it looks to promise high-flying action that’s full of jaw-dropping parkour stunts.

David Belle is perhaps most well known as one of the inventors of Parkour, a holistic training discipline which consists of moving quickly and efficiently in any environment by using only the abilities of the human body. This discipline has since led him to becoming both a stunt co-ordinator and international movie star, grabbing the attention of audiences around the world with his role as Leïto in the French action flick District B13 and its sequel, District 13: Ultimatum.
Now, Belle has come to America for Brick Mansions, the remake of his French breakout film. Directed by Camille Delamarre, the actor plays the same character here, although this time he goes by the name of Lino Dupree. The story takes place in a futuristic Detroit that has long since become ravaged by crime and drugs. Lino needs to team up with undercover cop Damien Collier (the late Paul Walker) to...

The first Brick Mansions trailer from February was focused on the action elements presented in this American remake of the French film District B13. This second, full trailer wants you to know a bit more about the story. In one of his final and most physical roles, Paul Walker plays a detective looking to avenge the death of his father by entering into a neighborhood so dangerous it has been quarantined from the rest of society. Inside, he uses an unlikely ally to take on a vicious drug kingpin played by RZA, who is looking pretty villainy. As we’ve mentioned before, it’s awesome to see Walker get into the physical stuff of the Parkour-energized film alongside French star David Belle, who was a central figure in the original film. This trailer also comes complete with a pretty slick rendition of Ben E. King song, “Stand by Me.” Watch the Brick Mansions trailer below: For those...

Deadline report that French actress and former Wonder Woman candidate Elodie Yung has joined the cast of Alex Proyas' Gods Of Egypt as one of the Gods (or Goddesses in this case). Hathor - in ancient Egyptian mythology she's the goddess who personified the principles of joy, feminine love, and motherhood. As well as starring as Jinx in the G.I. Joe sequel, Yung popped up as a gang lord in District 13: Ultimatum and also made a brief, but very memorable appearance in David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The story deals with a human thief (Thwaites) who cares little for the affairs of gods but when he discovers Zaya (Eaton) has been cursed by Set (Butler), he falls on the side of Horus (Coster-Waldau), hoping that Set’s death will break the curse. Proyas wrote the script with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who are...

When Alex Proyas' Paradise Lost fell through, he turned his attention to a different mythology, and his Gods Of Egypt have been assembling at Summit Entertainment ever since. Paul Walker was clearly working quite hard before his untimely passing as he was recently seen in Hours, will still be seen in Fast & Furious 7 and before that he has a new film titled Brick Mansions coming out on April 25. Now this one is more of a limited release kind of feature that will likely feature that has the outward appearance of a limited release accompanied by an On Demand showing, but it seems Relativity may take this District B13 remake wide as it tells the story of an undercover cop (Walker) who tries to take down a ruthless crime lord (RZA) with access to a neutron bomb by infiltrating his gang. Just like the original and its sequel, District 13: Ultimatum), it features a lot of high-flying Parkour action. Check out the trailer and poster below.

Chicago – Poor Halle Berry. Apparently ravishing good looks, fine acting chops and an Academy Award for Best Actress aren’t enough to earn decent roles in Hollywood. Since her triumphant turn in 2001’s “Monster’s Ball,” Berry has had only two big screen roles that managed to hint at her gifts as an actress. Yet “Things We Lost in the Fire” and “Frankie & Alice” were largely ignored by critics and audiences.
Sadly, Berry’s name has gradually become synonymous with cinematic turkeys like 2004’s “Catwoman,” for which she graciously accepted a Razzie award while delivering a hilariously self-deprecating speech. That was a terrible film, to be sure, but it wasn’t nearly as depressing as John Stockwell’s PG-13-rated would-be blockbuster, “Dark Tide. While his dexterity may be enough for a host of people to shower the Frenchman with praise, it stands to reason that, notwithstanding a few exceptions, he has made the sort of films which attract the male adolescent crowd. On occasion he will be the progenitor of something that strives for more, Léon: The Professional and the upcoming The Lady being two examples, but for the most part they resemble Taken, Nikita, The Fifth Element, Transporter and District 13: Ultimatum. Besson gave birth to the original idea behind Lockout, starring Aussie Guy Pierce, then handed over the screenwriting and directing reigns to Irishmen Stephen Saint Leger and James Mather,...

Update: The text of the Twitter chat can be found here.
Today (Tuesday), at 11am Pst (so 2pm Est, or 7pm GMT), writer-director Joss Whedon will be on Twitter, answering Twitter questions (Twestions?) about The Avengers for a full 30 minutes, and there'll also be a ten-second teaser for the Superbowl spot for The Avengers. Oh, and Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, and extra-special last-minute bonus guest Samuel L. Jackson will also be answering questions at the same time. Who? (It’s funny because they’re not Joss Whedon.)
Seriously, though, Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg are very talented in their own right. And now kind of iconic within the Marvel movie universe. But if you’re not a geek, you might still be saying ‘Who?’, but unironically. Bad non-geeks. (I jest.)

Paul Walker is may jump into the lead role of an American remake of Luc Besson's Disctrict B13. Deadline reports that Walker is in talks to star in Brick Mansions, which will be scripted by Besson (who co-wrote the original) and Robert Mark Kamen (Taken). Parkour creator, David Belle, who starred in the first film and it's sequel District 13: Ultimatum is slated to star opposite Walker. Besson refused to make the film without Belle in the role.
Mansions will likely take place in Chicago, and will have Walker as "an undercover detective chasing a weapon of mass destruction that was stolen by a drug dealer in the ghetto known as Brick Mansions. He seeks help from the incredibly agile Lino (Belle), who knows Brick Mansions better than anyone and is the only person not cowering in fear of the drug dealers." [1] So, that Americanized version of Pierre Morel's French thriller District 13 we reported on back in 2009 [2] is still happening, and it may have just found one of its stars. Paul Walker has entered negotiations to join the cast of the remake, which will be titled Brick Mansions and relocated to a city in the States (probably Chicago). But the news isn't all bad! Also on board is David Belle, who starred in the original and its sequel but will be playing a different character here. Plus, the script comes from Luc Besson, who co-wrote the original, and Robert Mark Kamen, who collaborated with Besson on Taken. More details after the jump. Brick Mansions will revolve around an undercover detective (Walker) going after a drug dealer who's stolen a weapon of mass destruction. He heads to a ghetto known as Brick Mansions to find the criminal, enlisting the help of...

Though American audiences know director Pierre Morel for making Liam Neeson a certified bad-ass again in Taken, before that, the French filmmaker worked in his homeland for the Paris-set action thriller Banlieue 13 (or rather District B13 here in the United States). Now Morel will see his film in a new way as Deadline reports Paul Walker is in talks to star in Brick Mansions, an American remake of the aforementioned French film which features some of the most stunning and acrobatic actions sequences that have graced the big screen in a long time. Thankfully some of the original talent is returning for the remake. Luc Besson, who co-wrote the original 2004 film, will script the remake with The Transporter franchise scribe Robert Mark Kamen. In addition, the French film's star David Belle, who also starred in the sequel District 13: Ultimatum, will co-star alongside Walker. That's some good news at...

Luc Besson has been threatening a Us-based remake of District 13 (Aka Banlieue 13) for a while now, and is finally getting the pieces into place for the film, which has the slightly less evocative title Brick Mansions. District 13 star David Belle is already lined up for a role and Paul Walker is currently in talks to take the other lead.Belle, of course, was one of the people who originated Parkour, the sport that features heavily in both District 13 and its sequel, District 13: Ultimatum. In the Us version of the first film, Walker will be an undercover Chicago detective chasing a weapon of mass destruction into the titular ghetto. His main problem in the area is the local drug dealer, who rules the place, but Walker will get some help from Lino (Belle), who refuses to bow down to anyone. According to Deadline, a few Hollywood types were circling the Lino role,...

The film has a script by Luc Besson (who co-wrote the original) and Robert Mark Kamen, Besson’s collaborator on Taken. The idea is for Walker to star with David Belle. Belle starred in the original and the sequel District 13: Ultimatum and he is also credited with creating Parkour, a sport that involves agility and leaping and climbing around obstacles. There is a lot of that in these films. The film will be set in American city, most likely Chicago. Walker will play an undercover detective chasing a weapon of mass destruction that was stolen by a drug dealer in the ghetto known as Brick Mansions. He seeks help from the incredibly agile Lino (Belle), who knows Brick Mansions better than anyone and is the only person not cowering in fear of the drug dealers.

With the recent additions of French actress Elodie Yung (District 13: Ultimatum) as Jinx, D.J. Deadline reports that the latest addition is Adrianne Palicki, who will play Lady Jaye, the Joe team's covert operations specialist. In the Marvel comic books, Lady Jaye has a romance with Flint, which could be duplicated in the script from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the screenwriters behind Zombieland.

An American classic is coming back in the action sequel G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes and we’ve been hearing loads of details as the project becomes a hot one. The word is Storm Shadow will return, Jon Chu may direct, and there may be a part for The Rock.
But today’s THR exclusive on the subject was the hottest news yet. French actress, Elodie Yung, is currently in talks to co-star with Dwayne Johnson and Channing Tatum in the Paramount film. They say the sultry lady will portray “a ninja member of the Joe squad named Jinx” if she decides to sign the dotted line.
Yung has already displayed considerable ninja-like prowess in District 13: Ultimatum, the parkour action movie whose highlight included a sequence in which she took on corrupt cops with a knife in her ponytail.

While we sort of don't really care about "G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes" this writer likes these stories if only because it's an excuse to look up the elaborate back story some dumb toy solider was given. It's kind of amazing that somebody actually sat down and thought these out no matter how cornball they are. Anyway, THR reports that Elodie Yung--probably best known for her turn in "District 13: Ultimatum"--is in talks to play Jinx in the upcoming sequel. So who is she? Get this. Even though many of the Joes from 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will not be returning in director Jon Chu's (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never) sequel, G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes, doesn't necessarily mean that the toy-based actioner will be light on characters. Last week, it was revealed that eyebrow-raising wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might be joining the cast as Roadblock, the Joes' heavy machine gunner and cook. Now, THR has reported that French actress Elodie Yung, most famous for playing a tatted-up martial artist with knives in her hair in District 13: Ultimatum, is in talks to play another Joe not seen in the first movie in the sequel, an L.A.-born ninja named Jinx.
