Stars: Costas Mandylor, Robert Lasardo, Tara Reid, Wesley Cannon, Sarah French, Elissa Dowling, Bishop Stevens | Written by Adrian Milnes, Massimiliano Cerchi | Directed by Michael Su
Bloodthirst is from the folks at Mahal Empire, last year they gave us their version of the zombie apocalypse, Bridge of the Doomed. This year they’re revisiting the apocalypse, only in Bloodthirst the threat comes from a different strain of the undead, vampires. Interestingly, both films were directed by Michael Su and written by Adrian Milnes this time with a story credit to Massimiliano Cerchi
In the world of Bloodthirst two factions of vampires fight for control of what’s left of the planet. What’s left of humanity is caught in the middle and rapidly heading for extinction, something that would doom the vampires as well. John Shepard walks that world as a vampire hunter who’s on the trail of The Master Vampire.

There’s a new sheriff in town, but it’s multiple hours of Apple TV+’s Silo before she takes office. Before that, not one but two of the sci-fi show’s 10 episodes explore the legacy of Juliette Nichols’s (Rebecca Ferguson) beloved predecessor, Holston Beckett (David Oyelowo), and the nature of the underground shelter they call home. Such is the time deemed necessary to acclimate viewers to the inner workings of this world, a vertical concrete structure housing 10,000 people who have no knowledge of what’s going on above beyond what they see of the ravaged, toxic landscape projected onto window-like screens throughout the silo.
Showrunner Graham Yost greatly overestimates the depth of this paint-by-numbers sci-fi dystopia, adapted from Hugh Howey’s book series. The people of this society have lived underground long enough to develop new customs and terminology, but little of it deviates from the trappings of...

Few folks these days seem to recall where the term “nickelodeon” originates. While the word is now synonymous with children’s entertainment and the heyday of basic cable television, it once referred to an entirely different medium; it was what folks called going to the movies. At the dawn of the 20th century, and at a moment when indoor exhibition of motion pictures was still considered a novelty, “nickelodeons” were some of the earliest movie houses that flourished in the United States. For a mere five cents per person—or one nickel per ticket—all the wonder of the big screen was yours to behold.
Today, moviegoers with AMC Theatres in their communities might be thinking about the value of five cents again—along with all the other nickels and dimes the biggest theater chain in North America appears poised to claim with their new dubious “Sightline” ticket pricing strategy,...

Despite being one of his generation’s biggest stars, Robin Williams still wasn’t immune to career disappointment. At the peak of his popularity, in the early 1990s, Williams even had a falling out with Disney over Aladdin, blemishing one of his most celebrated roles. While Aladdin surged to international success, it overshadowed the outlook of Toys, a personal project for Williams that ended up one of the few bombs of his legendary career.
Robin Williams didn’t like the way ‘Aladdin’ was marketed
Robin Williams was at the top of his game when he sat down with Disney in 1991 to begin work on Aladdin. Seeing Williams’ explosive talent as perfect for animation, Disney execs teamed him up with animator Eric Goldberg to see how to turn standup routines into movie magic. According to an interview with Goldberg in the L.A. Times, Williams immediately saw the comedic angle for the...

Updated with Google statement: Covid case numbers among Google employees in Los Angeles have continued to rise after an outbreak was first reported by Deadline two weeks ago. The good news is that the rate of rise is lower this week than it had been previously.
Last week, the company’s Silicon Beach campus in Venice recorded 145 infections, while its massive Playa Vista complex saw an outbreak of 135 cases. This week, according to the Los Angeles Department of Public Health dashboard, those numbers have risen to 152 and 155, respectively, for a total of 307 infections.
That’s up 13 from last week’s infection total of 280, but nowhere near the nearly 100 week-over-week rise reported by Google last week.
Google Spokesperson Bailey Tomson told Deadline today, “The health and safety of our Google community remains our top priority, and we have many safety measures in place to ensure a safe environment for anyone in our offices.

Of the Devil sees actor Kelton Jones return to the directors’ chair five years after helming his disturbing first feature, Dry Blood. This time around he’s working from a script he wrote based on an idea by James Cullen Bressack.
The film opens in the basement of a nightclub. A group of devil worshippers slice open a young woman and remove something that looks like a shark’s tooth-shaped cocoon from her body. In the next scene, the item is hidden in the corner of a fence. A bright blue butterfly of the species “CGIus Obvious” flutters around it and a young boy named Alex (Lucas Sequeira; In the Death Room) is playing on the other side of the fence.

“The Santa Clauses,” the Disney+ limited series continuing “The Santa Clause” franchise, is bringing back David Krumholtz in the role of Bernard the Elf, Variety has confirmed.
Krumholtz is reuniting with fellow “The Santa Clause” actors Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell in the new series. Allen and Mitchell are set to reprise their roles of Scott Calvin/Santa Claus and Carol Calvin/Mrs. Claus, respectively. In both the 1994 film “The Santa Clause” and its 2002 sequel “The Santa Clause 2,” Bernard serves as the head elf of Santa’s workshop. A stickler for getting things done on time, Bernard can tend to be a grumpier, less cheerful elf, but he does it all to keep the other elves on task and productive.
In addition to his role in the “Santa Clause” films, Krumholtz is known for appearing in the “Harold & Kumar” franchise and in films like “10 Things I Hate About You...
