Sophie is courting a lucrative wedding: Veronika and her fiancé Steffen want to celebrate with more than a hundred guests at the Fuchsbichlerhof. For the highly indebted mountain pension, the job promises a real rain of money, because the bride's family is extremely solvent. However, father Hajo finds the "room with stable" anything but appropriate and wants to turn around immediately after viewing it. When a fire breaks out that evening, Sophie's malicious comments are the least of his problems. The fire brigade arrived just in time to save the house. The freshly renovated guest rooms above the stable are all charred and uninhabitable. The culprit is quickly found: Sophie's grumpy stable guest Barthl, who nodded off during his botanical smoking experiments with sensitive mimosa plants. Unfortunately, the amateur scientist had previously dismantled the smoke detector. To the experts from the insurance company, the whole thing looks like arson and fraud. Sophie believes that nothing can be saved with the truth: only if Barthl feigns mental derangement will the insurance company pay. Unfortunately, he overdoes it - and puts himself in a position that Sophie could use to finally get rid of him for good.
