Angela Bassett is a global treasure, but her storyline this season and the aftermath of confronting a serial r*pist really gave her character of Athena enough to chew on that Fox should have pushed her in the awards conversation. She does so much physically and mentally in this show that I cannot believe no one has been nominated at the major awards for 9-1-1. Although the subject material in this episode can be distressing and/or triggering for certain viewers, it is one of the most compelling episodes and offers one of the few glimpses into a show that protects its main cast. Although I would never like to see an actor killed off, especially Angela, this is perhaps one of the most realistic and scary moments where I thought they may go through with discarding a prime member of the cast.
