A war movie through the eyes of a sniper.
anapires43199914 May 2024
It took 4 years to get it of the ground, but it was worth it.

I really enjoyed myself with this movie, lots of camouflage and snipers in the jungle, brings this one, into a cool sequel, with explosions and action.

Miguel D. Dias brings a good villain, playing with the portuguese sniper Rui Constantino (also the director) it´s was very nice to see the dynamic between good and evil, then we have other secondary character like Caleb Angel that brings another powerfull weapon to the mission zone, in the base we have a new actor Arsh Rueda that is Tiger the veteran he brings in the drama of the story telling our main character the evil that ice sniper is doing in the world, wish the movie was a feature film, because i would like to see more of the background of the ice sniper, what is the motive behind his killings, maybe something to explore in another sequel, so if you read my review director Rui Constantino, please if you make sniper 3 add more characters background besides all the killings.

All in all a good sequel.

Portuguese sniper makes his return with a blast.

Very well shot and made, with some cliches that are needed for a sniper movie like this, i´ve been waiting a longtime for this sequel so, i was eager to see it.

And it surpassed my expections by far, it has amazing action sequences, glorious sniper battles with a good cast, the sound effects are on point too.

The soundtrack is also very good.

This is the perfect example of excellent film making on a low budget.

Top notch camerawork and the pacing of the film keeps you engaged.

This was a solid and impressive production overall, and I cannot give it enough praise.

Loved every moment of the movie 9/10.

A solid installment.

As former military, I'm particular about realism. Although this movie had it's share of cinematic liberty, for a sniper movie, it was actually quite good.

Loved the scenes of the destroyer, it felt very real.

It was just a good, action-packed "heavy on the sniper action" flick. If you like military movies, specifically sniper movies, you'll enjoy it. You won't say it's the best sniper movie ever, but you'll watch it to the end.

A little too much cheese at times, but it´s forgivable on such a low budget as this.

It had it's snicker moments for sure, but pretty much action-packed from beginning to end, which I love.

Enjoyable action packed short film
jarvat-114 May 2024
This is a very enjoyable short action film.

Granted that this is far from a high mainstream budgeted production. But the fact is that it has a lot of heart and these stories build interesting film and film makers, and more important, new stories.

The sniper action is really nice and having those means available is a huge merit. The acting could improve with some external help, I'm talking about background scenarios. I particularly enjoyed the Tiger character who is clearly a natural.

Low budget? No shocking FX? Ok. But the story is entertaining. My problem is that I started with part 2 and now I have to see the first one!

Sniping action!

Rui Constantino brought us another of his action directed short movies! This time the second issue of Portuguese Sniper. It's a great action packed movie that pits Delmar against the russian Ice Sniper in the middle of the jungle.

Caleb did an awesome job, as always, and what to say about Constantino and Dias' partnership? Always a win! And what about señor Rueda? Fantastic add too the team!

Constanino Filmes and Last Road Studios are to be congratulated to have been able to pull this one off with all the millitary equipment used for the realism.

Great work everyone! Keep them coming and keep up the great job!

A story told with a snipers precision.
erichasand15 May 2024
The acting is good, the film tells an enthralling story, and this film is downright abysmal. It perfectly demonstrates the effect war has on people.

We see the villain receiving orders to kill a lot of people, and we all now that the portuguese sniper knows what must be done, and a military veteran talks to him, warning him, of what it´s coming if he accepts the mission, he does accept it, and know he goes one on one with this russian sniper, who is really a menace to all, he has a sofisticated mobile weapon with enough firepower to destroy everything, drones, a lot of stuff controlled at distance.

If you want to see an action-packed short movie, see this sequel, it´s great.

Powerful and poignant sequel.
batistavieira14 May 2024
The portuguese sniper Delmar returns to the jungle on a mission to kill the ice sniper, a russian sniper, that has killed a lot of officers, what he doesn´t know is that the russian also have intel, that he will be there to kill him.

From there on, the fun is on, we get to see a lot of snipers on this one, all in ghillie suits, bend with the jungle.

The camera tracks from behind the soldiers as they move forward. The action is fast paced and well done by director Rui Constantino.

The cinematography and sound effects are simply superb and add great depth to the film, especially the war scenes.

A good return.

Interesting story with good acting
dinispereira-3192915 May 2024
I always try to play the devil's advocate when it comes to these sensitive subjects because, in my humble opinion, the truth usually lies right in the middle of opposed polarized opinions. Second, I want to review this as a film. I'm not here to judge the morality behind Delmar´s actions, or behind of what he was a part of.

So Delmar accepts this difficult mission to go to the colombian jungle to hunt the ice sniper, but he is also expecting him to appear what comes next is a game of cat and mouse, and i really liked it.

On the downside we have litlle background on the characters but i think it´s because this is a short movie.

That being said, Portuguese Sniper is still a competent short movie.

The sequel i was waiting.

Warning: Spoilers
What to say about this good sequel, it was all i was expecting and more, thrilling, tense and dramatic telling of Sniper in enemy zone, that has to deal with one of the most infamous snipers ever, the ice sniper, his tip bullets are made of ice, that´s how i see him, lethal and deadly waiting for his prey, he thought he could outsmart the portuguese sniper, but he didn´t because he was above him, and managed to spoil what he was planning to do.

The wartime scenes are all shot extremely well and I think the best thing about them is the feeling the director shows in the fact that these men are really in a trap not knowing where the next bullet is going to come from.

What really pushes the movie from the opening scene to the very last is the terrific performance by Rui Constantino and Miguel D, Dias, the both of them play well together as hero and villain.

It's certainly a terrific sequel and overall this is a great film that leaves the viewer with a lot to think about and be thankful for.

Nice production and tone.
caninafrota14 May 2024
It is not bright in the realism, flow and VFX sections, many happenings and characters decisions on both sides could be questioned, on the other hand, it is very good in its patriotic acting.

In its essence portuguese sniper makes a satisfying comeback to do what he does best (killing i mean) so the ice sniper tries several times to be one step ahead of him, but fails, even with his sniper friends, they all fail to catch Delmar.

The time we can see the value of the production, with have the apc´s, mobile weapons, and amazing firepower in this.

If they decide to make another entry, i bet that it will be even more powerfull and decisive.

Incredible Movie

The portuguese sniper returns for one more mission, and this one is even better than the first one, i´m a fan of this franchise, and i always hoped for this sequel.

Now let´s talk about the good things we got a new enemy the ice sniper, this guy is a cold blooded killer, when he is receiving his mission, there´s something in is eyes that scares me a lot, the actor that does this character is awesome.

The portuguese sniper played by the director, brings the emotion to the character once again, he takes this mission from a veteran, a new guy i don´t know who he is, and he has a talk with were both talk about the mission, and the other guy tells him, the bad stuff that this new enemy his doing, we can see that the veteran worries about what will happend to Delmar and if he can get out of this mission alive or not.

A very difficult mission for the portuguese sniper to accomplish, full of explosions and action set pieces in full mode.

Go see it! You won't be disappointed.

Good, but somewhat thin in storytelling.
joaorestauro16 May 2024
Overall this is not Constantino's best work. There is no real visual style here. I wanted this badly to be on the level of Lone Survivor.

Yet with the exception of Miguel D. Dias, that really talks like a russian and acts like one, there are no other real marquee actors, the performances seem flat and the world created seem one dimensional.

The word "depth", in general, springs to mind, as their simply wasn't enough in this film.

On the other hand the action scenes were good, and the soundtrack did his job.

Overall, Portuguese Sniper 2, is a solid, yet unspectacular, flag-waving war film that attempts to show the true horrors and effects of war yet only succeeds in falling flat on its' face.

Overall Score: 6/10.

The crazy second mission of portuguese sniper.
antonioaraujogr18 May 2024
This is a film about courage and patriotism, the portuguese sniper is a man of pure charisma, bravery.

The supporting cast is simply great.

Delmar is a true hero, this movie depicts this, not through slow motion, juiced up violence but a deep and dark production of the brutal reality of snipers, what they have to live for, and how they see the world, there are many menaces for him, in this movie, and this is what makes the movie good, a little flaws here, and there, but nothing to fancy.

The soundtrack has ups and lows, but does the job The special effects are satisfying, for a low production like this.

I enjoyed it and i would buy it on DVD.

Nicely realistic and fair depictions of a sniper.
luciosantinho21 May 2024
The story nicely encompass fair depictions of how war can affect harshly to someone even as skilled as the portuguese sniper, The movie serves the harsh truth of the threats the military face, and the severely blurred line between doing what's right and doing it right while countering those threats. And those threats are depicted fairly real, when the ice sniper along with other snipers try to trap the portuguese sniper and kill him, but he always manages to escape them.

As someone experienced In first person shooter games, the sniper shots seemed real enough. Yet for me, there's discrepancy between the shots from the rifle's scope and how he uses his scope.

The acting is nice overall.

It deserves a 7 out of 10 score and a recommendation to go and see it on their channel.
