A movie that takes itself time
danischulte20 February 2022
It was so refreshing seeing a movie where there's not a cut every other second. The mesmerizing sound design and astonishing cinematography that capture the cold and violent world protagonist Daniel lives in made me almost not realize that there was not a single piece of music throughout the whole movie. If you are up to slow paced films, this will be the one for you. At some points, they really could have shortened or left out a few scenes. Although a length of 120 minutes could have made the movie even better, it is still never boring and the tension buildup was done very nicely. There is very little dialogue, but when there is, it often feels unnaturally which made me not believe that these characters are actual people. The whole atmosphere can be compared to the Netflix show Dark, and the similarities are sometimes a little bit too obvious, but as a whole cinematic piece I really enjoyed the movie and it left an impact on me!
