Check the front door camera?

Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand why in a smart home house they haven't checked the front door camera to find out who was on the camera at the bottom of the stairs? It doesn't even make sense to have that camera pointing downstairs in the first place.

Fading stars

Not quite so good as the opener. Slower with less humour but the actors do try their best with a surreal script. The time slot of the first screening is usually the home of Vera or Endeavour at this time of year. Perhaps it would be better in a midweek time slot as it seems a bit like The Trouble With Maggie Cole which was shown in midweek last year

I'm still not sure what to make of this.

Alice learns the identity of the stranger at the door, and decides it's the right time to bury Harry.

I wasn't bowled over by part one, and if I'm honest I struggled with this. It's unforgivably slow, and it's such a confused production, it doesn't know if wants to be funny, or serious, the sense of mystery had all but evaporated, it is just wallowing in misery, and is no more than melodrama.

I'm all for a slow burning mystery, but this is ridiculous, it's a bit of a struggle to believe the events.

Hawes is very good, despite battling a mediocre script, but Havers and Lumley, two greats, both seem off key somehow.

Is it just going to be about whether Alice can keep the house or not, the mystery surrounding Harry seems to have lost momentum.

I am struggling with it, 5/10.

Finding the point would be more helpful than finding Alice.

Warning: Spoilers
A Comedy? A Drama? A murder mystery? It's not so much 'Finding Alice', it's more about finding which tone this show is supposed to be.

It's another of those "difficult to place" ITV shows, that they market as one thing when it's clearly something else.

This creates a jarring effect for both viewer and the show itself. Keeley Hawes doesn't look overly confident playing the more comedic scenes, while Joanna Lumley looks like she wants to tear up the script and say what she's actually thinking.

All in all, a bit of a muddle.
