In his new film, The Weekend, Nigerian filmmaker Daniel Oriahi follows one such sojourn a rather unique heart of darkness where it only takes a couple of days to expose a deadly family secret. Nikya (Uzoamaka Aniunoh) and Luke (Bucci Franklin) are a happy, recently engaged couple with a bright future ahead. Nikya was orphaned young and has always longed for a family to call her own, and though Luke’s family remains largely intact, he’s long...

Madgaon Express does well in its fifth weekend, shows steady growth. (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Madgaon Express did well in its fifth weekend as 1.71 crore came in. The comedy has stayed on to be in circulation for a good time period now and that should continue to be the case not just for the rest of the month but even in May since there is hardly any inflow of movies expected. The election season is on as a result due to which most filmmakers are holding on to their releases.
As a result, Madgaon Express is benefitting, as can be seen in the constant growth that it managed over the weekend gone by. The film grew from Thursday numbers of 30 lakhs to 35 lakhs on Friday. This was still nominal, but then the film almost doubled up on Saturday with 62 lakhs coming in. This really has added momentum to the film, as...

Box Office – Do Aur Do Pyaar comes close to 3.50 crores over the weekend, is on the same lines as Laapataa Ladies (Photo Credit –Facebook)
Do Aur Do Pyaar was stable on Sunday as 1.35 crore came in. This is a bit of an increment over Saturday collections of 1.28 crore, though a higher growth that would have taken the film past the 1.50-1.75 crore range would have been even better.
The film is running at the selected count of screens and shows because Eid releases Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan still have maximum showcasing. For Do Aur Do Pyaar to challenge that further, it needs to keep demonstrating even better occupancy at the screens where it’s already playing so that collections from Monday onwards also keep the momentum going. Looking at the trend so far, it could well turn out to be the case, and hopefully, Bollywood will have something...

Selena Gomez has been in the public eye ever since she was very young. Starting at the age of ten, the actress starred in the hit children’s television series, Barney & Friends, which was followed by her getting cast in the iconic Disney series, The Wizards of Waverly Place.
Since becoming the high-profile celebrity that she is, the entire world seems to have become invested in her personal life, specifically when it comes to her romantic partners.

The singer and actress’s boyfriend, Benny Blanco, seems to be getting a similar sort of treatment from the media, for his entire life has been put under a microscope.
Interestingly enough, it would seem that he has been related to Gomez’s two ex-boyfriends in a way that many may not know. Blanco has professionally worked with both Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.

On Jan. 13, MSNBC will roll out its new take on a weekend morning show: The Weekend.
Co-hosted by Symone Sanders-Townsend, Alicia Menendez, and Michael Steele, the program was announced late last year as part of an overhaul of the cable channel’s weekend lineup. Originating from Washington D.C. and running from 8-10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, MSNBC is betting that The Weekend can deliver for its regular viewers what Morning Joe does on weekday mornings: A more casual, conversational look at the news, with some original reporting and interviews thrown in for good measure.
The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Menendez, Steele and Symone-Townsend last week to discuss what they have planned.

MSNBC is shaking up its weekend schedule as CNN’s Saturday and Sunday offerings continue to provide strong competition.
The NBCUniversal cable-news outlet plans to a launch a new panel show, “The Weekend,” co-moderated by Alicia Menendez, Symone Sanders-Townsend and Michael Steele that will air Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and will cancel a nighttime show anchored by the outspoke Mehdi Hasan. Those move will not only consolidate anchors who had been active on the weekend schedule in their own time slots, but leave room for broad change.
MSNBC’s weekend schedule has long been edged out by CNN among viewers between 25 and 54 — the audience most coveted by advertisers in news programming. CNN launched a new Saturday-morning lineup in November featuring Victor Blackwell,. Chris Wallace and Christiane Amanpour, and paced ahead of MSNBC in both that demographic and total viewers, according to recent data from Nielsen.

Before tumbling off her Lamborghini tractor, Sza looks incredible. A strip-club veteran, she gives her leading man, Justin Bieber, something close to a lap dance, perched on this piece of lawn equipment as he drives it. Flanked by cameramen, she twists her torso and sings her latest hit single, “Snooze,” to him as she sits on the hood. In one take, she puts her hands on the hood and ass fully in the air, with no spotter or soft ground to catch her should she fall.

Fandoms everywhere can now rejoice, for in October Our Flag Means Death finally returns to our screens for its second season. Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi will be romancing the high seas once more thanks to an enormous outpouring of love and support from the show’s fans. The safety of the cult favorite is not yet known beyond season two, but if this one is as good as the first, it certainly won’t be for lack of trying.

Bella Hadid and her boyfriend Marc Kalman have broken up after dating for over two years.
The two first sparked dating rumors back in July 2020 when they were spotted together at a cafe in New York City. They only confirmed their relationship one year later on Instagram.
Hadid shared a photo of her embracing Kalman captioning the post, “Time of my life . Healthy, Working and Loved ”
The two kept their relationship private and did not publicly share much information about it. Hadid explained this decision, “I think that’s why things have been able to last,” she told Vogue in March 2022. “When you give other people room to have opinions on things that are so personal to you, it poisons it.”
She did share a few glimpses into their life as a couple on Instagram, including a Valentine’s Day post where she called him her “fave dinner date.”

Florence Pugh stole everyone’s attention at the Valentino Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023/2024 show in Chantilly, France.
She donned a sheer lavender backless Valentino dress, exposing her bodice and underwear. Her hair was styled with a pink highlighted buzzcut, and she wore black heels to match the black ribbon attached to the dress behind her neck.
This isn’t the first time the Midsommar actress wore a head-turning dress. Almost exactly one year ago, she modeled another sheer Valentino dress — also to a Valentino event — that exposed her nipples, garnering many comments that attacked her brave fashion choice.
She then took to Instagram to address the remarks.
“Grow up. Respect people. Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans. Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise,” the British actress wrote. “And all because of two cute little nipples…”
Pugh has received praise for her roles in Little Women, Midsommar and Don’t Worry Darling.

The highly controversial and anticipated series, The Idol, has finally been released on HBO Max, and opinions have been formed. The series, helmed by hit series Euphoria writer and director Sam Levinson, has been in the limelight for almost a year now. With a massive cast including actress Lily-Rose Depp, singer “The Weekend” (also an executive producer), everyone’s favorite comedy queen Rachel Sennott, K-pop idol Jennie Kim, singer Troye Sivan, and more, the show was bound to make waves. But these waves are rather frozen, seeing as how confused and aimless the first 30 minutes of the first episode are. It’s yet another tale of what is wrong with the music industry and “produced” artists who are just puppets to the big names and companies. We get it. The Idol is offensive not because of its obscenity but because, despite all the hype and talk about it, it’s got no substance.

The new Netflix series “Xo, Kitty” takes some notes from the “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” film trilogy, but it also branches out for youngest sister Kitty’s (Anna Cathcart) adventures to Korea. After getting the same scholarship that her mom got to study abroad at the Korean Independent School of Seoul, Kitty jets out to surprise her long-distance boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi), who happens to attend Kiss. Things get a bit more complicated when Yuri Han (Gia Kim) dreams up a fake dating scheme to distract her mother from other parts of her life, and she chooses Dae to be her fake boyfriend.
And just like the “To All the Boys” movies, the “Xo, Kitty” soundtrack is great.
K-Pop dominates the show’s episodes with big hits from BTS and Blackpink as well as Seventeen and more. The series also connects to Jenny Han’s films starring...

Television shows are, inevitably, made up of parts. On the surface, there’s the great, overarching story that begins with the first shot and ends with the last. But, within that narrative, there are small parts: the series, and the episode. It is the smallest of these sub-divisions, the episode, that is most intriguing. A truly brilliant episode can bridge the gap between cinema and TV. It can refine the essence of the best shows into a single, self-contained moment. At its most potent, a perfect episode is like mainlining all the myriad ingredients of prestige television in a single sitting.
But great TV shows do not necessarily beget great episodes and, conversely, great episodes are not always the sign of a great show. The start of 2023 has been dominated by discussions about The Last of Us, a perfectly good series including one stunning episode. In it, two supporting characters...

The Weeknd and Sam Levinson’s upcoming HBO drama “The Idol” notched a massive win this week when it was officially announced that the first two episodes of the series would be screening out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival next month. Television premieres on the Croisette are not unprecedented — David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks: The Return” and Jane Campion’s “Top of the Lake” both screened at the festival — but a selection can validate an auteur-driven series as something artistically significant. It’s a much-needed PR boost for the show, which has been bogged down by reports of on-set dysfunction.
But getting a slot at the world’s most important film festival apparently wasn’t enough for The Weeknd, so he decided to promote the show at America’s biggest music festival in the same week. The artist made an unannounced appearance at Coachella on Friday night, taking...

The month of April for Hulu is jam-packed with TV and film goodies, from Adam Sandler’s 1999 comedy “Big Daddy” to Fox’s hit sitcom “New Girl.”
On top of Hulu’s rollout of a new interface, it’s also adding some major film and TV titles to its platform. Some of the highlights that set off the first day of April include “American Psycho,” “Shrek” and its sequel “Shrek 2,” plus the Tim Story-directed “Think Like a Man.”
Anime series will be all the rage on Hulu with the dubbed version of the new popular series “Chainsaw Man” arriving, along with “Spy x Family” and “Black Clover.” If you’re looking for something a little bit more kid-friendly, the family can al enjoy “Despicable Me” and “Despicable 2,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days” and “Nanny McPhee.” For the lovers and heartless romantics, “Dear John” and “Date Night...

Hulu’s list of new releases for April 2023 don’t feature many blockbusters, but if we dig a little, I’m sure we can find some gems.
Perhaps the most promising items are on the TV side of things. Tiny Beautiful Things premieres on April 7 and stars Kathryn Hahn as “a floundering writer who becomes a revered advice columnist while her own life is falling apart.” That will be followed by comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? on April 11 and two documentaries: high school football story Algiers, America (April 19) and Tupac Shakur piece Dear Mama (April 22).
The best TV candidate this month, however, is probably Saint X on April 26. This series, told via multiple timelines, “explores and upends the girl-gone-missing genre as it explores how a young woman’s mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.

Even if you’ve signed up for every streaming service out there, it can feel monumental when a title moves from one to another. In April, Netflix mainstay “New Girl” moves to Hulu; still streaming, but not where fans are used to finding it — like rearranging the furniture in your apartment and waking up surprised every day that the couch is over there now.
But what’s important is that “New Girl” lives on, now joining Hulu’s own TV and movie library and originals from Freeform, FX, National Geographic, and more. Later in the month, Leila Gerstein’s “Saint X” — based on the novel by Alexis Schaitkin — premieres with three episodes, recounting the story of a young girl found dead during a family vacation and the sister piecing it together years later. Alycia Debnam-Carey, Josh Bonzie, West Duchovny, Jayden Elijah, Bre Francis, Kenlee Anaya Townsend, Betsy Brandt, and Michael Park star.
