Nice!

Both entertaining and informative with a nice personal feel to it. Certainly a must watch for everyone interested in the history of gaming. But would probably work for someone that are not very in to gaming, i m not, but it cant be denied that it is a big part of understanding kind of every philosophy of today; videogams are - like it or not - an artform for some of the last 100 years most creative humans. So i would recommend this to anyone and i am hoping that it will find a broad audience.

Two thirds are great

This is a very good documentary about the inception of the video gaming industry. Sadly the documentary narrows down the playing field and ultimately figures out it's run out of minutes to tell the story how it should be told and introduces a conclusion too fast.

I enjoyed the Atari segment - Activision and EA should've had a bigger place also. Nintendo and Sega bits felt indulgent and rushed and ultimately the docu stops around 1999 - leaving out another 20 years in the industry.

In conclusion this film has a horrible title, features fascinating people but fails to string the narrative in a cohesive fashion post 1985.

Great but just skims the surface

Hows this for a stat...the video game industry is worth double the value of the music & film business combined!

Only criticism I wanted more, too much here to cover in a single documentary, this story needs / deserves a miniseries to do it justice.

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this but it was too heavy on Atari. The first hour and fifteen minutes of a two hour show was Atari. Then everything else got jammed in and a bunch was missed. The importance of the move of games from the arcade to home was shown, but the advent of mobile gaming never was. PlayStation was given an honorable mention but Xbox never was. This was more an Atari fan's history of Atari with a look at the Nintendo/Sega war and a few other quick mentions. Nothing after the 90s was even mentioned.
