The star of the Amazon Prime series El Cid will continue to be repped by CAA, You Rock Talent; and Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver & Thompson.
Sanz is renowned for her turn as Paloma Iglesias in the second season of El Rey’s From Dusk Till Dawn from Robert Rodriguez.

Sometimes the most tantalizing and seemingly unobtainable goals can ultimately change-and improve-people’s lives in ways they may have never expected. We got to interview William Levy and Alicia Sanz about their new Latin action thriller movie En Brazos De Un Asesino. The movie also stars Roberto Sosa, Adrian Lastra, Dalisa Alegria, Ettore D’ Alessandro, Jean Jean, Alessia Seravalle and is directed by Matias Moltrasio.
En Brazos de un Asesino means, “in the arms of an assassin,” and the movie is adapted from J. A Redmerski’s thiller, “Killing Sarai”.
William talks about the journey from actor to co-writer of this film and how he wanted to take control of his career. Also, now, as a producer, he can create opportunities for other people. He recalls how watching The Godfather in Cuba and seeing Andy Garcia who is Cuban inspired him to become an actor. The Latino market in America provides the number one audience going to the movies yet they only represent 3 percent of the roles. He wants to do something to change this!

Neon’s film festival favorite Portrait of a Lady on Fire didn’t cause an inferno at the specialty box office, but it managed to have a warming glow of an estimated weekend gross of $67,105. The critically lauded romance directed by Céline Sciamma and starring Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel had its one-week qualifying run at the Angelika in New York and the Arclight Hollywood in Los Angeles with a per-screen average of $33,552. It was #1 at the Angelika and came in at #2 behind Knives Out at the Arclight. Its debut is one of the best averages of any French film in the U.S. in the last 20 years behind Amelie and Coco Chanel. To add to its arsenal of acclaim, the drama sits at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and is the second best-reviewed film of the year right behind its fellow Neon title Parasite.

It was yet another weekend atop the weekend box office for Disney's Frozen II, which has now topped $900 million globally, well on its way to becoming the studio's sixth 2019 release to top the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office. Meanwhile, while Focus Features saw Dark Waters finish just outside the top five in its nationwide expansion this weekend, Stx's release of Playmobil failed to make the top ten, delivering the third worst opening ever for a film debuting in over 2,000 locations.
At the top of the box office is Frozen II, dipping -59.7% with an estimated $34.7 million for a domestic cume totaling $337.6 million, making it the seventh highest grossing release of the year so far domestically. For some perspective, it wasn't until the original film's 61st day in release that it topped $337 million domestically, before going on to gross over $400 million after 57 weeks in release.

William Levy stars in the action thriller, En Brazos De Un Asesino, a Spanish-language film which he cowrote and produced, alongside his partner Jeff Goldberg. We sat down with the hunky actor to talk about why he formed a production company to make films for Latinos and wrote himself a character he's always wanted to play that Hollywood hasn't given him the opportunity to do it. Watch the video below. ...

It’s problematic when a possible franchise-launcher feels like an indifferent later entry in a series, and that is the case with “En Brazos de un Asesino” aka “In the Arms of an Assassin.” This Pantelion release has the requisite basic elements for undemanding escapism, with attractive leads, erotic elements and ample bullet-riddled peril. But despite being based on the first of seven (so far) interlocking pulp romantic-thrillers by J.A. Redmerski, Matias Moltrasio’s feature directorial debut isn’t splashy or assured enough to leave one wanting more, and the narrative awkwardly completes one arc and begins another after the two-thirds point.
Opening on approximately 150 U.S. screens Dec. 6, the film is certainly a viable commercial item among Spanish-speaking audiences. But let’s hope any follow-ups leave a stronger impression.

In the early aughts, Cuban actor William Levy burst onto the telenovela scene, quickly amassing a fan base among women viewers. Since then, the actor and model has gone on to movies, English-language TV shows and even a season of “Dancing with the Stars.”
It helps to understand his previous work as a perennial thirst trap and overall handsome man to appreciate his turn into a steely gun-for-hire in Matías Moltrasio’s “En Brazos de un Asesino” (“In the Arms of an Assassin”).
Levy plays the titular assassin, Victor, and the movie wastes no time getting him in front of the camera. Quickly, we see him violently set up a contract with a drug lord named Guzman — not to be confused with “El Chapo” Guzman, or should he be? On Victor’s way out of the kingpin’s mansion, he realizes he’s picked up a stowaway, Sarai, too late.

U.S. Latinx Streaming Platform Pantaya Reels in More Subs, Ramps Up Original Programming (Exclusive)
The growing influx of streaming giants in the U.S. market is a boon for premium Latinx-content streaming platform, Pantaya. That’s how Paul Presburger, CEO of both Pantaya and Pantelion Films, views it. “I see them more as potential partners, whether it’s in distribution like Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video, or as production and programming partners,” he said, citing deals with Amazon Prime Video and co-production talks underway with other platforms.
The two-year old Lionsgate-Hemisphere Media joint venture has just surpassed the 500,000 subs benchmark, exceeding its growth forecasts. Being the only streaming platform providing premium Latinx programming in the U.S. and Puerto Rico with “higher budgets, better production values and bigger stars” has been key to attracting a spectrum of Latinx subs, ranging from the Spanish-dominant and bi-lingual demos to English-dominant viewers, Presburger asserted.
