Normally, watching documentaries is not something I would do in my spare time. However, this documentary of Hilary Hahn is fantastic- not only because it is Hilary Hahn, but it is well-crafted and contains live performances. Ms Hahn's recordings are impeccable, moving and brilliant, but her live performances are a world of their own. I love how this documentary shows off Ms Hahn's wonderful, down-to-earth and somewhat quirky (in a good way) personality, giving viewers an insight into an incredible violinist off-stage. The interviews in the documentary are also great and show Hilary insightful understanding of not only her music but in working with others such as her accompanist for the Mozart Sonatas for Piano and Violin CD. Overall, this is a wonderful documentary and any low reviews gained by this would be from those who cannot even hope to accomplish half of what Hilary has.
