PARIS -- Lifetime Television has partnered with French distributor TF1 International to produce and distribute original telefilms worldwide, the companies said Thursday.
The new venture will begin with three original television movies for release in worldwide markets starting with Miracle Mountain(working title), produced by Nomadic Pictures and written and directed by Greg Goodell and scheduled to premiere on Lifetime Television this year.
The film, which stars Jami Gertz and Dylan Walsh as an estranged couple caught in a holiday snowstorm, will be distributed by TF1 International outside North America at the end of 2007.
"We are very pleased of that first step in a long term partnership with Lifetime, one of the most creative and dynamic cable television networks" senior executive vp sales & acquisitions at TF1 International Annabel Bighetti, said.
"Through this new partnership, we will begin the process of owning our own movies, instead of merely licensing them, which is a critical ingredient for success in this multiplatform era."...
