Stars To Compete With Brainy Kids On TV Show

Gene Simmons, Jennie Garth and Dean Cain are to put their smarts on the line and compete with pre-teens in upcoming celebrity match-ups on hit U.S. game show Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?

The stars will compete with the show's regular young geniuses in an effort to win cash for charity.

Other high-profile names taking part include Georgia's superintendent of schools Kathy Cox and quiz champ legend Ken Jennings who is TV show Jeopardy's most successful champion of all-time.

Fox Planning Two-hour Season Premieres

Fox plans to kick off its fall season on September 1 with a series of nightly two-hour season premieres. (Fox airs only two hours of primetime programming on weekdays, versus three on the other major networks.) The season gets under way with a two-hour permiere of Prison Break on Monday, Bones on Wednesday, The Moment of Truth on Thursday and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? on Friday. The following Tuesday, Fox plans to launch its new J.J. Abrams-produced Fringe with a two-hour series premiere.
