Sex & Nudity

  • Three sex scenes. Various positions including standing sex, man on top, woman on top, rear-entry and interrupted sex, with thrusting, condom use and orgasm. One rather comic "rough" sex with a slap and hair-pulling. Nudity includes bare breasts, bare chest, some male and female buttocks.
  • Later in the film a man and a different woman have sex in a more prolonged scene. Both are seen fully nude throughout the scene, though the only explicit nudity is occasional breast visibility.
  • Two women watch a (male) gay porn film while having sex; we see one of them reaching under the covers and hear a vibrator, and the film shows two men having both oral and anal sex. Two teenagers find both the vibrator and the video, which they watch. When the women walk in on them, the four proceed to have an uninhibited-yet-awkward discussion in which one of the women tries to help her one teenager understand why some lesbians want to see aroused men. Two women also speculate about whether a teen boy is exploring same-sex relationships, a choice they support.
  • More raw, F-word-laced dialogue arrives when a woman confronts her partner with her suspicion that she's been sleeping with a man.
  • A teenage girl sexualizes everything and repeatedly wonders why her (also teen) friend hasn't yet had sex with a close male friend. This girl refers to the friend's father as "a fox" and asks if he's single.
  • Sexual dialogue is laced throughout the script, including a joke about how a lesbian couple met involving a double entendre to oral sex.

Violence & Gore

  • A teenage boy videotapes his friend skateboarding off a roof and crashing down hard (nothing explicit). Later, the two have an altercation after the same friend unzips his pants and threatens to urinate on a dog.

Profanity

  • At least 30 F-words and 15 S-words. About 20 religious exclamations. Vulgar and obscene terms are used for both the male and female anatomy. About a dozen other (milder) expletives pepper the dialogue too.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Two teens snort powder from a pill they crush.
  • A woman has a penchant for wine, and when she's stressed out, nervous or angry, she just keeps pouring glasses for herself. In one scene, her obvious drunkenness leads to an angry outburst in public. At a party, a teen gets very drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • A woman begins an affair with a man. We see several scenes of the two having sex, complete with explicit sexual positions, forceful movements, and realistic orgasms. We see both their bare backsides, especially the man thrusting forward, part of her breasts, while their midsections are just barely avoided. The same man also has sex with another girlfriend, and we see a similar scene from the side.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some scenes could be emotional. There are some intense scenes, such as when the affair is discovered, and when the teens discover the adult film. There's also one brief, yet candid, conversation about sex and sexuality.
