"For reasons I find elusive, the day has quite displeased me'

Laughed a lot this episode, written by Dan Dorrity himself W. Earl Brown. As someone, too lazy to download subtitles, I only realize now during the final season how much I missed out on a loot of the hilarious, archaic dialogue. The show is a blast when you read the writing.

Warning: Spoilers
Sadly Deadwood was getting to the end, I having fun on those Shakespearian conversation, the main fact of this episode concerns around a shooting straight to Mrs. Alma on the street from a unknown, afterwards Hearst has a slight quarrel with Hugo when suddenly introduces on the talking he as Alcibiades and Hearst as Socrates, Hearst refuses it at once, what a scene!!! Later Hearst send a message thru Con Stapleton to Al Swearengen, who are waiting on front street, the meeting didn't ending so friendly as they expect, Al beats and kicks him to get some valuable info over upcoming arrival date more than 25 Pinkerton's agents and gunfighters at camp, the remaining times are scattered in shorts sequences on others regulars sub-plots!!!

Where it starts to fall apart
guitargod211212 October 2022
Although there were hints of it earlier in the season, this is where the show really starts to fall apart. The editing is mind-bogglingly terrible. An important scene cut away for 10 seconds of something completely different and then back to the more interesting stuff. You can see this is where David Milch started to lose it. It was so unfortunate to see it unravel like this. There was so much more potential in the show. At least the actors still put their heart and souls into their performances. Milkshad great riders on his staff. If only they had someone who could oversee the consistency. I'm reading through the Deadwood Bible while watching this series for a third time.
