Sex & Nudity
-
- Being a scientific documentary about human ancestors, this episode does have nudity and, depending on which version you watch, a mating scene. Expect full frontal nudity from both sexes of Australopithecus. At one point during the episode, a sex scene also takes place between two protohumans, which is uncensored in the original British version. Naturally, these scenes are not erotic in nature, they showcase normal animal behavior, but may seem awkward since the animals in question are very human-like.
Violence & Gore
-
- Animals clash with and kill each other. The fight for leadership between two Australopithecus is violent, if short, but there's no blood.
- One of the Australopithecus gets killed by a saber-toothed cat. The scene contains no gore, however, and we don't see any wounds on the carcass.
- A giant, elephant-like Deinotherium also attacks the Australopithecus group, but none get hurt.
Profanity
-
- None, unless you understand ape-language.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- None.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- Some animals may frighten children. The hormone-crazed Deinotherium acts very violently and threatens to crush the Australopithecus in a dramatic scene. Some youngsters might also find the hairy proto-humans themselves scary-looking.
