One of German televisions finest moments

When watching the original broadcast of this "Wer wird Millionär?" Prominentenspecial #12 (a far more successful German language version of what is known in America as "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire") on the 28th of May 2006, I was surprised at the overwhelming feeling of joy that came from experiencing the back and forth between Gunther Jauch and Hape Kerkeling as Horst Schlämmer. Without being more specific and giving anything away, the humanity that radiates from Mr. Schlämmer (brilliantly acted by Mr. Kerkeling) found its perfect mirror in the open face of Mr. Jauch. For such a 'popular' show to be so empathetic to the human condition gives me great hope for German culture as a whole. It was a night that I will always remember.
