A Long Walk A Pain-In-The-Butt
ccthemovieman-128 August 2006
George Macready guest stars an an older Easterner teamed up with Josh on a long walk to Fort Apache. It seems those two and Josh's bounty hostage and stage rider were all ambushed by Apaches. The other two were killed while Randall and "Jefferson Klingsmith" ("Macready) were spared, for some unexplained reason.

They climb out of the burning stagecoach as the Indians leave and then have to weave their way back to safety....a long, long walk. That is complicated by more Apache attacks, two white bandits and the stupidness of the stubborn "Klingsmith" who won't listen to Josh and keeps getting both of them in more trouble.

Only in the end, of course, does the snobbish Easterner appreciate what a good man Randall is, in all phases including morals after our hero explains to him why is he is bounty hunter. It's a short but good answer.

Crummy oldie

Josh Randall is taking a prisoner on a stagecoach that gets attacked by Indians. Only Randall and a nasty old codger played by George Macready survive the attack, but the horses were stolen, and they are many miles from civilization.

Also on their trail are two outlaws that think they are going to rescue Randall's prisoner, but he got killed by the Indians.

So as Randall leads the way to safety and salvation, Macready spends his time taking shots at Randall's character for him being a bounty hunter. Why Randall did not leave this guy behind is a mystery.

Eventually they meet more hostile Indians and the outlaws catch up. It is touch and go all through this episode. The story would have been a lot more fun if a less nasty character had been on the road trip with Randall.
