Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaWhile on break from production, Hugh Wilson visited his father who was a law professor at Harvard. Some students from the law class came to visit Wilson and told them they had just seen "Fish Story" and thought it was the most hilarious TV episode ever produced. Even though Wilson "disowned" the episode, he couldn't resist getting a little recognition, so he told the students, "Well, do you want to know something? I wrote it!" One of the students asked, "Well, what's your name?" Wilson replied, "Hugh Wilson." The students got somewhat irate after his reply and one of them added, "You did NOT write it! We saw the credits. Raoul Plager wrote it!"
- GoofsIn the bathroom, Les Nessman claims to be 'two time winner of the Buckeye Newshawk Award' when in all other episodes, he is a five-time winner.
- Quotes
Highway Patrolman R.F. Buddy Plyler: You keep drinking.
Dr. Johnny Fever: Okay, but I'm not gonna get drunk.
Highway Patrolman R.F. Buddy Plyler: Oh, oh, oh, yes you are too. You'll see.
Venus Flytrap: [in a drunken stupor] He's from Mars, officer. Whiskey does not affect alien beings.
- Alternate versionsOne of the hardest hit in the 90's redistribution package and 2007 DVD release. All songs replaced and all announcements redubbed (so "That was The Doors" becomes "That was The Swords") or cut out entirely. The 2007 DVD also cut some footage of Venus singing. All the original songs and Venus singing are now on the 2014 DVD.

In the radio booth it shows Venus's jacket a Cincinnati Reds jacket, but Cincinnati is spelled "Cincinnato", Why? I think this is a very funny show. 2 of the 3 story lines are very funny, the interview part is poor. I have watched it many times, and never noticed until tonight. I would like to know why the Name was spelled wrong. The Pig fight is also funny. I think it was funny that when Mr Carlson needed bail money, he did not have any, and Jennifer had it to give to him. I think the fish suit is cool, much better than the Pig suit. Wkrp is the funniest show from it's time, clean, funny, and silly. The networks should make shows like this now. It would make people relax.
