- TriviaPrior to filming this episode, there was some doubt as to whether NBC would agree to more episodes. An alternate ending was written (but not filmed) in which Bogg would have saved the lives of Jeffrey's parents.
- Quotes
Susan: So, Phineas Bogg, you find yourself in the field without your Voyager guidebook.
Phineas Bogg: Uh, that's right. But I had Jeffrey.
Brindle: Are you telling this tribunal that Jeffrey became your guidebook?
Phineas Bogg: Yes. I'll admit I was a little leery about it at first myself.

Bogg before the Voyagers Tribunal
Most of this episode is taken up with Jon-Erik Hexum taken before the Voyager
Tribunal on charges of violating the Voyager code. In point of fact he's been
kind of winging it ever since he lost the guidebook and picked up Meeno Peluce
all quite accidentally.
Clips from the previous shows are of course utilized. Not to say what the end will be but had Voyager gotten another season we would have seen a lot more of Stephen Lisa playing the star chamber like prosecutor Drake.
It all ends with saving the Texas Republic and Sam Houston. In real life Houston never got that close to his Mexican foes to have been captured.
I would love to have seen Jon-Erik Hexum and Stephen Liska going at it in more stories. Just like the Doctor and the Master.
