The first time we see inside of the warp nacelles.
While Troi and Worf are discussing Troi's grandfather, Worf states, "Yes, I too have sought visions in fire." This statement alludes to Rightful Heir (1993), in which Worf travels to a temple on Boreth in an attempt to see a vision of Kahless.
In Kwan's quarters, Worf points out a "Napean design". The design is based on an ancient Egyptian cartouche and is topped with the falcon symbol of Horus.
Deanna tells Worf at the end: "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." This is an idiom adapted from a line in William Congreve's play, 'The Mourning Bride' (1697). The original line is "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned." It means that there is no greater anger than that of a woman rejected in love, as Deanna thought she was.
Marina Sirtis had recently had lip injections prior to filming this episode. Her upper lip is considerably more prominent here than usual.
